Got one person who hasn't had insurance on his home since last fall call to get a new policy today. Every carrier that writes home insurance has issued a moratorium on writing new policies in the area so good luck with that. Then another person who had his home rejected because of his roof, and he said he wasn't going to fix it and would just go without insurance and proceeded to let his insurance get cancelled 3 weeks ago. Then he suddenly calls me out of the blue today and says "hey I fixed my roof" and sent me an invoice that his son wrote for him (highly probably it's bogus and just had his son write it dated a few days ago). I told him I'd send it in, but the policy won't be reinstated until after the restrictions are lifted. Started cursing me out and saying he was going to sue me. Like, ok, have at it. There are text message receipts and recorded lines showing exactly what you said so if you wanna donate charity money to a lawyer that's your decision. Like I feel bad that people's properties are threatened and if I had the power to help I would, but ultimately these rules are in place specifically to stop people from just buying insurance before a storm and then cancelling after. These storms come every year and this information is common knowledge in south louisiana. But goddamn, I really don't want to be here anymore. Hurricane seasons are just getting more and more active each year. I know just about anywhere you move there's going to be some kind of natural threats be it droughts, fires, tornadoes, blizzards, earthquakes, etc. But idk, I feel like hurricanes are going to be fucking up the gulf coast more than ever with more consistency going forward. I was 13 when my youngest brother was born and it kind of weirded me out when my mom told me she was having the photos done and then she was like "I have photos of you and *redacted other brother's name* too" and I was like so you take naked baby photos of your children and show them to everyone? But apparently it's kind of common so I just passed it off as some weird parent thing. Now I'm 32 about to get married and possibly have kids in the future and I still don't see me ever doing something like that. I don't really think its some sexual pedo thing, it's just nudity and I wouldn't really care if someone saw their diaper being changed or being bathed, but it just seems kinda weird to have professional photos to show your friends and family. He was a baby and had no consent in being the cover of the album, not to mention basically the entire world got to see his baby penis since it was such a hit album, probably the defining album of the 90s. But at the same time....you were a baby and it was the 90s. For some reason parents love to have naked baby photos of their kids. Not sure if it's much of a thing these days (I hope it's not because I'm not going to do it for my kids) but my parents and all my friends have them. It's weird but it's a thing. The decisions to lock up certain merch is driven by analytics. They may have lost you as a customer but that's only one person. If locking up the merch led to more lost revenue due to lost customers rather than stolen merch then they wouldn't do it. I'm not trying to persuade you to shop at walgreens again or anything as I really don't shop there myself because everything costs more over there. And I've defended turn based combat in the past, but I've kinda come around to understand how it's really outdated plus in Skies you don't always know who goes first on a given turn. I tried replaying it a couple of times the past couple of years and I just can't make it far anymore without getting annoyed with it (and you gotta get pretty far in the game until you unlock the ability to avoid random battles while traveling the world map).
