the time that I quit Target in 2007.

I was working my shift as usual nothing noteworthy happened. No one yelled at me. No irate, rude customers. I was SKUing a toy in the toy section. I was crouched. I just stood up suddenly in the middle of my task, walked out of the store without acknowledging anyone, and walked all of the way home. They called me for days afterwards trying to get me to come back to work. It was amazing. I never returned, though. They were so confused and I found that utterly delightful. Thats when I discovered the addictive, intoxicating joy of quitting a job. Ive been hooked ever since.

Ive ghosted before, but never on anything that I would even bother putting on a resume. It was always because of low pay and being overworked and understaffed. Corporate CEOs get rich while we do the work, get abused by the customers, have four peoples work heaped on us, and still make a wage that doesnt cover the rent.

When I was 16 I got my first real job working at Hardee's. One month in Katrina came through and I had no way to get there

So... That was that, pretty much

I worked in one of those seasonal Halloween stores once and left like that.

First day was unloading a truck full of all the stuff to set up the store. The management stood around and watched, which was fine but it resulted in us moving things multiple times instead of them directing us to put things in the area that they actually needed to go. They instead stood around and talked about where they were going to eat afterwards.

Day two was the actual setup. They didn't mention that they wanted double coverage for items, so we had to redo entire sections. They poorly fastened a wall divider up with a single zip tie and it fell on a girl.

These were all red flags, so when I went to go throw out a box at one point I just kept on walking.

I've seen someone walk out on a job once. He became everyone's favorite joke and we all got to bond over what a complete baby he was.

This is weird. There was obviously something underlying and/or bubbling up to make you do this.

I quit a BS casino mid shift. Owner told unemployment I threw chairs and broke mirrors. Nothing quite like the state asking for the video knowing its a casino.

-I quit for pretty good cause. Worked day shift, salaried, and they told me in the middle of my 5th, 10 hour shift that I would need to work a double tonight and switch to graveyard for the next 4 days after. Fuck that noise.

We had a new hire once. A week or two in we sent her to another location for the first half of the day. She left there to come finish the day at our location and never showed up.

To add to that, she ended up sending texts to our manager bad mouthing us. Like, this bitch works with us for a collective maybe 12 hours, no-shows quits, and then has the gall to pull that?

Fastest I ever left a job was when I got a job as a telemarketer.

I left during my first break on my first day. I hated every second I was there. Just went to my car and drove away without telling anyone.

In every job I've had, I've gotten into a big argument with at least one supervisor/manager. I'm surprised I've never been fired before.

I was actually pretty close to walking out of my job just yesterday.
They cut our hours and have given us more work, so on weekends I have to do a two man job by myself.

I woulda really left, but I need the money and I guess that's what I get for not going to college when I was younger :V

both times I quit turkey hill I just walked the fuck out and didn't come back until they begged me back the first time

Came back and worked there for another year or two and they were gonna promote me to keyholder. At the time I was dating one of my coworkers and he was probably more qualified than I was just by virtue of the fact that he drove and I didn't but he never said anything Abt wanting to be a keyholder. but I didn't put out and he got frustrated and broke up with me

Guess what the fucker did a few days later? Then I found out abt it and that they were essentially having me come in at 530 in the morning for months for no reason and I walked out in the middle of a fucking snowstorm I was so pissed.

"Right to work" is just massive managerial gaslighting. The last thing management wants to handle is termination paperwork, it looks seriously bad on them, and hiring someone to replace a proven worker is exhausting and unpredictable.

Never let a company trick you into thinking you're disposable.

Quitting jobs is literally the only way to increase your salary.

People who think they are going to get "promoted" in their current positions are living in a delusional world.

I quit my job at Busch Gardens Williamsburg when I was a supervisor, they had me cleaning an area the size of 4 city blocks and a bathroom the size of a medium size apartment all by myself. My manager kept screaming at me to clean the bathroom and dump all the trash in the area because they were all over flowing. All she did was stand in front of the food hall and talk to the other supervisors, I just gave her my ID and told her to F herself. I cried like a little bitch but I didn't care, they had me working 16 hour days and I had to drive over 70 miles every single day to come to work.

I quit a restaurant job when the dude helping me went out back to smoke pot. Worked a dog kennel job for the next three months then went back to the restaurant job. Dogs were great, people that worked there were horrible and the hours made my grades suffer. Finally quit the restaurant job my senior year in college
