https://www.rollingstone.com/tv/tv-news/2021-emmys-diversity-fail-1228919/

Before it even started, the 2021 Emmys seemed like it was set to put diversity on the back burner. With leading nomination totals from Ted Lasso (13), The Crown (11) and The Handmaids Tale (11), the ceremony promised to focus on shows with predominantly white casts (and creative teams). It didnt take long for that prophecy to become a reality. The first 15 winners of the night were white, with even unexpected victors like Mare of Easttown and Hacks sending white folks to the podium. Diversity at an awards show, once again, was largely for optics. While the Emmys were hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, featured several presenters of color (including Kerry Washington, Bowen Yang, Taraji P. Henson, Ken Jeong, and the Native American cast of Reservation Dogs) and, per a study from The Undefeated, featured more Black acting nominees than in the past, the ceremony seemed to only scratch the surface when it came to actually awarding people of color. And the lack of representation in the winners pool didnt go unnoticed. More than midway through the show, RuPauls Drag Race took Best Competition Series, finally bringing the nights first winner of color to the podium. Later, I May Destroy Yous Michaela Coel was recognized for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series, and Hamilton took home the award for Outstanding Variety Special.

But most of the evening was spent watching people of color present awards to their white counterparts. And while Television Academy head Frank Scherma presented the Governors Award to dancer, choreographer, actress, writer and director Debbie Allen the first Black woman to receive that honor his introductory speech crowing about diversity was particularly jarring in light of the nights events. Despite a few much-deserved wins, the Emmys seem to have a lot of work to do in terms of representation. For now, it looks like the label #EmmysSoWhite remains fitting.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/20/africa/paul-rusesabagina-verdict-rwanda-intl/index.html

Paul Rusesabagina, who inspired the film 'Hotel Rwanda,' has been found guilty by a court in Kigali of being part of a terror group, MRCD-FLN. Rusesabagina, along with 20 other people, was accused of conspiring to launch attacks on Rwandan territory in 2018 and 2019, resulting in at least nine deaths. The judge, reading out the verdict on Monday said: "The court also finds that they were in this group very aware that they were committing terror acts, they wanted the terror acts committed and this is evidenced by the work that they committed while in that political party. They formed FLN which is an illegal armed group, which attacked Rwanda in 2018 and 2019 and even after that they bragged about it in different announcements and videos," the judge said.

The 66-year-old was first arrested in August 2020 and faces nine charges, including financing terrorism, murder as an act of terrorism, formation of an irregular armed group, and membership of a terrorist group, among others. Rusesabagina gained prominence for saving hundreds of Rwandans during the country's genocide by sheltering them in the hotel he managed. His story was made into the Hollywood film "Hotel Rwanda," starring Don Cheadle and Sophie Okonedo. On hearing the verdict, his daughter, Carine Kanimba, told CNN that all of her father's basic human rights have been violated by the Rwanda government. "We knew there would never be a fair trial for my father, and now the world knows too. If the US, Belgium and others believe in human rights, they need to step in now to free our father."

Whatever one might think about that musical Emmys openinga parody of the late Biz Markies Just a Friend starring some poor, unfortunate soul in a Daft Punk-esque TV headit was hard to ignore just how full the room looked. Host Cedric the Entertainer noted that given COVID-19, there might have been an impression going in that this event would be Emmys Lite. Instead it appears they invited every celebrity whos ever been on TV to convene in an outdoor ballroom. It didnt take long before one presenter spoke up about how strange the packed gathering seems, given the rising toll of the Delta variant. Good to be here at the Emmy Awards, Seth Rogen said as he presented the first award of the night, supporting actress in a comedy series. Let me start by saying: theres way too many of us in this little room.

What are we doing? Rogen continued, his voice climbing to an increasingly high pitch. They said this was outdoorsits not! They lied to us. Were in a hermetically-sealed tent right now, Rogen said. I would not have come to this. Why is there a roof? Its more important that we have three chandeliers than that we make sure we dont kill Eugene Levy tonight. That is what has been decided. This is insane, Rogen concluded. I went from wiping my groceries to having Paul Bettany sneeze in my faceso, thats a big week! If anyones gonna sneeze in my face, Paul, I want it to be you.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/19/millionaires-are-worried-about-leaving-their-kids-too-much-money.html

Wealthy celebrities like Daniel Craig and entrepreneurs like Warren Buffett and Kevin OLeary arent the only ones concerned about leaving too much money to their children: Millionaires are increasingly worried about how much of their fortunes to give to their kids. Thats according to a survey conducted by The Motley Fool, which asked 2,000 high net worth individuals classified as people with a net worth over $1 million about their attitudes toward inheritances. Among the top concerns the individuals surveyed had was the possibility of leaving too much money for their heirs, something that 67% of respondents mentioned. The respondents had numerous concerns about the effects of leaving too much money to their heirs, including that the wealth would be used irresponsibly or that it would cause beneficiaries to be lazy. Whats clear is that high net worth individuals are concerned about the effects of leaving too large an inheritance, Motley Fool research analyst Jack Caporal tells CNBC Make It. They are aware of and actively considering leaving inheritances with conditions that incentivize their heirs to pick up on values that they think are important, such as hard work, doing well in school and finding a good career track.

The survey found that 85% of high net worth individuals who had to meet certain conditions to receive their own inheritance agree that it is possible to leave too much money to an heir. Among respondents who received an inheritance worth between $500,000 and $1 million, 84% agreed. The results and their responses were definitely guided by their own experiences, which is interesting because you get a sense from them that these were not unfounded concerns, but that they relate to their own experiences having inherited a lot of wealth, Caporal says.

https://www.the-sun.com/news/3688295/crystal-digregorio-returning-onlyfans/

Former pastor Crystal DiGregorio has confirmed that she is returning to OF. The 37-year-old, who will go by her old stage name of Nadia Hilton, is still an ordained minister following a 180 decision to turn her back on the adult film industry six years ago. However, speaking in a recent interview, she revealed that she is reviving her profile on the online platform after growing tired of dealing with judgmental parishioners. I decided to step back from all that after seeing a lot of judgment from church people. Very judgmental, she told syracuse.com. Im not in any particular group anymore, she added. DiGregorio had initially moved from New York to Los Angeles at the age of 16 gaining notoriety as she appeared in more than 100 adult films across a ten-year period. At the top of her game she was earning nearly 250,000-a-year, living in a mansion, driving flash sports cars and even owned her own nightclub. However, in 2015 she left that all behind to join the Church - marrying husband David Bassette as they formed the New Beginnings Christian Life church in New York. But now remarried and living away from the church, she confirmed that she is embracing her alter ego once again as she embarked on a new chapter of her life blancing her faith and her passion. In a recent episode for YouTube series Brand New Me, she reflected on her experiences over the past 21 years. She admitted: After porn I did a 180 and became a pastor, and now I just want to be me. DiGregorio told syracuse.com that she does not do porn scenes with other people on OF. Instead she fulfils requests from individuals including the option for monetised snaps and personal videos.

People are pretty respectful. I dont have a lot of issues on that, she said. And the mother of four, who still goes to Church, now believes she has the perfect harmony in her life. She added: Doing OF as a Christian, I know Im going to have criticism. "But the way I look at posting adult content is that God brought me into this world naked. Posting pictures naked I dont think is this big huge crime or, you know, this big sin. Im happy being in the middle. Not all porn, and not all church.

https://www.newsweek.com/teenage-boy-insert-usb-cable-stuck-penis-surgery-1630160

A teenage boy needed surgery after getting a USB cable stuck inside his penis, having inserted it for "sexual experimentation." The 15-year-old decided to stick a knotted cable into his urethra "in the context of autoerotism," and ended up with the two ports at each end hanging out the end of his penis. The youngster later admitted to doctors he had "inserted the cable into his urethra to measure the length of his penis triggered by sexual curiosity," Science Direct reported. The report, published in Issue 39 of Urology Case Reports, added the teen, in an unknown location, was otherwise a "fit and healthy adolescent with no history of mental health disorders."

Repeated attempts to remove the cable himself were unsuccessful, causing him to urinate blood. His mother brought him to the emergency room, however he asked to be examined by medical staff without his mom present. They ran numerous tests, including a rigid cystoscopy and optical urethrotomyboth procedures involving the urethrawhich were unsuccessful due to the knot in the cable. A catheter was inserted to drain 700ml of urine mixed with blood. An X-ray revealed the exact position of the wire and the placement of the knot, and the teenager was scheduled for surgery.

A high-ranking member of the Colombo crime family wanted in a federal racketeering case surrendered Friday one day after his son posted a photo to Twitter of him standing in a glistening swimming pool in Florida. Ralph DiMatteo, the clans alleged consigliere, turned himself into the FBI at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan, according to Brooklyn prosecutors. The 66-year-old mobster took off to Florida one day before the feds busted his 13-co-defendants on racketeering, extortion and other raps related to the infiltration of a Queens labor union. The photo popped up on the Twitter feed after a judge ordered that other Colombo leaders named in the sweeping indictment be held without bail at their arraignments including boss Andrew Mush Russo, 87, underboss Benjamin The Claw Castellazzo, 83, captains Theodore Persico Jr., Richard Ferrara, and Vincent Ricciardo.

DiMatteo the familys third most powerful member is shown in the snap shirtless, half-submerged in a turquoise-colored pool, and sporting a gold crucifix around his neck as he stares directly into the camera. The shot has since been taken down. Its unclear when or where it was taken. It may be a while before DiMatteo gets to enjoy the Sunshine States tropical rays. Prosecutors wrote in a detention memo that they want the wiseguy held without bail.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/17/fda-panel-begins-voting-on-pfizers-covid-booster-doses-rejecting-shots-for-general-public.html

An influential Food and Drug Administration advisory committee on Friday declined to recommend booster shots of Pfizer and BioNTechs Covid-19 vaccine to the general public. The nonbinding decision by the FDAs Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee comes as the Biden administration has said it wants to begin offering booster shots to the general public as early as next week, pending authorization from U.S. health regulators. While the agency hasnt always followed the advice of its committee, it often does. A final FDA decision could come in a matter of hours. The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention has scheduled a two-day meeting next week to discuss plans to distribute the third shots in the U.S. The committee vote was expected to be a controversial one as some scientists, including two senior FDA officials who were involved in the meeting Friday, have said they arent entirely convinced every American who has received the Pfizer vaccine needs extra doses right now. In a paper published days before the advisory committee meeting, a leading group of scientists said available data showed vaccine protection against severe disease persists, even as the effectiveness against mild disease wanes over time. The authors, including two high-ranking FDA officials and multiple scientists from the World Health Organization, argued Monday in the medical journal The Lancet that widely distributing booster shots to the general public is not appropriate at this time.

In outlining plans last month to start distributing boosters as early as next week, administration officials cited three CDC studies that showed the vaccines protection against Covid diminished over several months. Senior health officials said at the time they worried protection against severe disease, hospitalization and death could diminish in the months ahead, especially among those who are at higher risk or were vaccinated during the earlier phases of the vaccination rollout. Before the vote, some committee members said they were concerned that there wasnt enough data to make a recommendation, while others argued third shots should be limited to certain groups, such as people over age 60 who are known to be at higher risk of severe disease. Some members raised concerns about the risk of myocarditis in younger people, saying more research is needed. Dr. Hayley Gans, a voting member, said she was struck that the FDA was asking the committee to look at the totality of the evidence presented Friday because some data, including on safety, was still insufficient. Another member, Dr. Paul Offit, said he would support boosters for people over 60, but had trouble backing third shots for younger groups due to a higher risk of myocarditis. Prior to the vote Friday, the committee listened to several presentations on data to support the wide distribution of booster shots, including from health authorities from Israel, where officials began inoculating the nations population ahead of many other countries and began offering third shots to their citizens in late July.

The Pentagon said Friday that a U.S. drone strike in Kabul last month killed 10 civilians including seven children. This strike was taken in the earnest belief that it would prevent an imminent threat to our forces and the evacuees at the airport, but it was a mistake, U.S. Marine Corps General Kenneth McKenzie, commander of U.S. Central Command, said Friday. As the combatant commander. I am fully responsible for this strike and its tragic outcome, McKenzie, who oversees U.S. military operations in the region, added.

The Pentagon originally said that the strike, which occurred Aug. 29, killed two ISIS-K fighters believed to be involved in planning attacks against U.S. forces in Kabul. Army Maj. Gen. William Taylor said at the time of the strike that there were no known civilian casualties. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the U.S. did not notify nor coordinate with the Taliban ahead of the strike. He added that the Defense Department did not notify other countries in the region nor U.S. lawmakers. The drone strike came on the heels of a suicide bombing that resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members and dozens of Afghans outside the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul.

French officials on Thursday canceled a gala at the countrys Washington, D.C., embassy over the Biden administrations decision to scrap a $40 billion nuclear submarine deal that the European nation had signed with Australia, The New York Times reported. The U.S., Australia and the United Kingdom on Wednesday announced a new trilateral security partnership in the Indo-Pacific, with the three planning to launch an 18-month review exploring how Australia could best acquire nuclear-powered submarines. But France which had worked on providing diesel-electric-powered submarines since 2016 to replace aging Australian vessels was left behind in the deal. Now, Paris has angrily scrapped the 240th Anniversary of the Battle of the Capes event meant to take place Friday evening at the French Embassy and aboard a French frigate in Baltimore, a French official told the Times. The event was meant to celebrate the French navy's aid to America's fight for independence in 1781. Following the perceived snub, Frances top naval officer, who had traveled to Washington for the gala, will now return to Paris early.

Asked about Frances displeasure later on Thursday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the United States values its relationship and partnership with France on a variety of issues facing the global community. She cited cooperation on economic and security issues and the coronavirus pandemic, and maintained that the Biden administration was engaged with French officials in advance of the announcement. Asked later what Biden thinks about the French foreign minister comparing him to former President Trump and the French cancelling the gala, Psaki answered that Biden doesnt think about it much and that he is focused on maintaining the U.S. relationship with France, the U.K. and Australia.

https://nypost.com/2021/09/17/didi-gregorius-blames-covid-19-vaccine-for-career-worst-season/

Former Yankee Didi Gregorius is in the middle of the worst season of his career and chose a controversial reason on which to blame his struggles. Speaking to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Gregorius now with the Phillies said he developed an elbow condition after he was vaccinated for COVID-19 called pseudogout, a form of arthritis that causes painful swelling. The shortstop said the condition hurt his performance throughout the season. Some people say its from the vaccine. I will say its likely from that, too, Gregorius said. But when you say that, everyone looks at you like youre stupid because the vaccine is not supposed to be like that or give you that reaction.

Experts are skeptical of his claims. Paul Offit, a vaccine specialist at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, told the paper that any pseudogout has nothing to do with the vaccine. He said it was possible the vaccine would cause the condition to flare up if he already had it and didnt know about it, but it would only last a few days. A months-long flare of pseudogout caused by the vaccine doesnt make any sense, Offit said. Ravina Kullar, a spokesperson for the Infectious Diseases Society of America, told the Inquirer she knew of two reports of rheumatoid arthritis flares after receiving the vaccine, but again, they didnt last long. Gregorius currently is recording career lows in batting average (.217) and on-base percentage (.275), and his OPS (.650) is the lowest mark since his rookie season. He has appeared in 89 games this season, having missed time due to the elbow injury. Gregorius has previously had Tommy John surgery on the elbow, and also injured it by landing funny while making a catch in shallow center field in April.

"This brutal, unilateral and unpredictable decision reminds me a lot of what Mr Trump used to do," Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told franceinfo radio. "I am angry and bitter. This isn't done between allies." It is the latest dramatic twist in a contest that has seen naval shipbuilding powers battle for years over what many observers called the world's largest single arms export deal. In 2016, Australia had selected French shipbuilder Naval Group to build a new submarine fleet worth $40 billion to replace its more than two-decades-old Collins submarines. Just two weeks ago, the Australian defence and foreign ministers had reconfirmed the deal to France, and French President Emmanuel Macron lauded decades of future cooperation when hosting Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in June.

"It's a stab in the back. We created a relationship of trust with Australia and that trust has been broken," Le Drian said. French relations with the United States soured during the presidency of Trump, who often irritated European allies by demanding they increase their defence spending to help NATO while reaching out to adversaries like Russia and North Korea. Diplomats say there have been concerns in recent months that Biden is not being forthright with his European allies. France's ties with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson have also soured over the UK's exit from the European Union.

Many of the women of Afghanistan are frightened right now. And those who worked for the foreigners who've pulled out of the country are even more so. They are some of the top Taliban targets, and too many of them are telling us how the Taliban are going from door to door, trying to find those who once worked for the "enemies". Officially, there's an amnesty. Unofficially, there are scores being settled and intimidation is rife. "Why did I work for the US?" one 24-year-old woman asks us. "That [when we are in] such a situation, they are not responding us (sic) not hearing us? It's a waste of my work experience, all those years. It's a waste of effort, it's a waste of struggle, it's a waste of everything right now. I even carry some kind of hate in my heart for them." She and her sister have travelled with their uncle to where we are staying. They were too scared to talk to us openly. They saw us filming in a market in the capital and the younger sister (who we will call "Tabasum" for her safety), tells us she watched us for two hours before summoning up the courage to pull Sky producer Chris Cunningham to one side. "Please, I want you to interview me," she told him. "I can't talk here because our lives are in danger."

The Taliban fighters began to regularly march into the house demanding food, or tea, and asking questions about whom they worked for. "Did you work for the old government," one Talib asked them. "There are rumours you worked for the foreigners" "We decided we needed to move then," Tabasum says. They've been on the run ever since. They show us photographs with the former US first lady Laura Bush taken in Washington DC. There are others standing proudly with British soldiers. "We love our country. We were proud to work for Afghanistan and build a new future," says 24-year-old Murro. "I empowered 900 women during my career with USAID. Now what am I? I am not empowered. I am told I cannot work, and I'm told how to dress. "I worry about the future, not just my future, but my family's future and the country's future. Have you ever felt you are living in a country that is not your country anymore? That's how I feel right now."

Cristiano Ronaldo might have to register his leg as a deadly weapon. The Manchester United superstar took an errant penalty kick during warmups for the teams Champions League matchup against BSC Young Boys of Switzerland, which flew over the crossbar and struck a female steward directly in the back of the head. The steward lay on the ground for several moments, and Ronaldo immediately rushed over to assist her. After remaining on the ground for a few moments, with security staff and Ronaldo perched nearby, she was able to return to her feet. As a show of good faith, Ronaldo gifted her with a jersey once she had recovered.

The US Soccer Federation has offered identical contracts to its men's and women's national teams in an attempt to resolve its gender pay dispute. In May 2020, a lawsuit from the women's team for equal pay was dismissed by a judge, with an appeal pending. The USSF says a single equal pay structure is "the best path forward". The federation called on players and their unions for support in helping to "equalise" World Cup prize money, which is at the root of the teams' pay gap. USSF president Cindy Parlow Cone said in an open letter on 10 September that "the massive discrepancy" in World Cup prize money is "by far the most challenging issue" in the negotiations with the teams. "Until Fifa equalises the prize money that it awards to the men's and women's World Cup participants, it is incumbent upon us to collectively find a solution," she said. The USSF has previously said women's World Cup bonuses cannot match those of the men because of huge differences in payments made to federations by Fifa for men's and women's tournaments. "US Soccer will not agree to any collective bargaining agreement that does not take the important step of equalising Fifa World Cup prize money," a USSF statement said. The United States won the Women's World Cup for the fourth time in France in 2019 and have claimed Olympic gold five times. The men's team failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Prize money at the 2018 men's World Cup totalled $400m (312m), with winners France receiving $38m (29.7m). The prize fund for the 2019 Women's World Cup was $30m (23.4m), with winners the United States receiving $4m (3.1m). The lawsuit from the women's team was filed by 28 women's national team players seeking $66m (52.8m) in damages under the Equal Pay Act. "This proposal will provide a revenue sharing structure that would allow all parties to begin anew and share collectively in the opportunity that combined investment in the future of US Soccer will deliver over the course of a new collective bargaining agreement," the USSF statement added. The men's and women's unions are separate and have no obligation to bargain jointly or agree similar terms under US law. If either party does not agree to a new deal, US Soccer says it will invite each union to sit in on negotiations for full transparency.

https://decider.com/2021/09/14/wheel-of-fortune-fans-distraught-over-season-39-changes/

Wheel of Fortune surprised viewers yesterday when the iconic ABC game show kicked off Season 39 with some brand new changes. These tweaks included a modernized version of the theme song, Changing Keys, a more colorful set, added screen time for announcer Jim Thornton, and even some updates to the gameplay itself. These changes come after the departure of controversial executive producer and former Jeopardy! host Mike Richards, and after Pat Sajak and Vanna White signed on as hosts through 2024. And not every fan is pleased with the revamped series.

This season, Sajak will no longer do the Final Spin of the game. Instead, that honor goes to the contestant in control of the wheel at the time, who will spin to establish the amount each consonant is worth in the speed up round. I, as host, had an impact on the outcome of the game and that has always bothered me because it just didnt feel right, Sajak explained. With this change, only the contestants determine the outcome. Other changes include replacing the Free Play wedge with an $850 wedge, upping the minimum amount that can be won on the Bonus Wheel to $39,000, and adding a $4,000 bonus to contestants who solve all three puzzles in the Triple Toss Up Round. So far, fans dont seem thrilled with these new changes. I dislike everything about new #WheelofFortune, one Twitter user wrote. The soundboard is the worst. They changed the music on Wheel of fortune and I am incredibly distraught, another viewer tweeted.

An Afghan sniper who worked alongside British special forces in the war-torn country was hunted down by the Taliban on Monday and executed in front of his family, according to a former UK army colonel. The victim, a father of five only identified as N to protect his surviving kin, reportedly was murdered after being one of the hundreds of Western allies left behind during a disastrous evacuation effort. He [had] been in hiding because of the threat he faced, British former Col. Ash Alexander-Cooper, who was once a senior adviser to the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs, told the Times of London. But they found him, and he was shot multiple times, executed in front of his family, said Alexander-Cooper, who served eight tours in Afghanistan, including at least one alongside N.

The murdered sniper had been in a very effective elite Afghan squad known as CF333 that was mentored by the British, the former army officer said. N tried to be evacuated from his homeland once the Taliban took power, fearing he would be targeted as a collaborator, but he was one of the hundreds left behind when US and UK troops left, the outlet said. It was entirely predictable this would happen for all of those left behind who were given no guidance, Alexander-Cooper told the UK Times. He said the murder proves that the Talibans declarations of an amnesty for those who worked against the Islamic fundamentalist group are merely a fantasy. The UK paper said an interpreter who also failed to be evacuated after helping the British military was kidnapped by a 25-man squad of Taliban troops and badly beaten. The man, identified as Sharif Karimi, a 31-year-old married father of four, said he was then held for four days in a tiny cell with barely any oxygen. The UKs Ministry of Defense told the UK paper that the nations armed forces were able to evacuate over 15,000 people from Kabul. Regrettably, we were not able to evacuate everyone in the limited time we had available, the department said, insisting that its commitment to Afghanistan and those who supported our mission there endures.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/14/tiktok-unveils-mental-health-features-as-instagram-comes-under-fire.html

TikTok announced Tuesday a slew of features intended to help users struggling with mental health issues and thoughts of suicide. These include well-being guides, a support guide for those struggling with eating disorders and a search intervention feature that will direct users to support resources when they look up phrases such as #suicide. TikToks announcement of the new features followed a Wall Street Journal report that said Facebook has repeatedly found its Instagram app could be harmful to teenagers mental health in certain situations. The two apps are in tight competition for teens attention. Since its 2017 launch, Chinese-owned TikTok has gained ground on Instagram. Last year, it surpassed Instagram as U.S. teenagers second-favorite social media app after Snapchat, according to an October 2020 report by Piper Sandler. TikToks new features will direct users to support, such as a Crisis Text Line if they search for the term suicide.

Although TikToks new features may be timed to National Suicide Prevention Week, which was last week, the timing is fortuitous. Following the Journals report, U.S. lawmakers heavily criticized Facebook for social medias impact on teen mental health and the companys failure to address the problems.

Cristiano Ronaldo's strict eating habits are already rubbing off on his new Manchester United teammates. That's according to goalkeeper Lee Grant, who says the rest of the squad are too scared to eat dessert in front of the 36-year-old superstar. "Usually on a Friday night you've got a few cheat stuff out," Grant, who is United's fourth choice keeper, told TalkSPORT. "You've got some apple crumble or you've got a bit of brownie and cream or what not. "I tell you now, not one player touched the apple crumble and custard, not one player went up for that brownie because everybody was sat down and one of the lads said to me: 'What has Cristiano got on his plate?'

"So we were having a little [look] at what he has got and obviously it is the cleanest, most healthy plate you can imagine. "And it just cracked me up how not one single player dared get up and have that junk food that was laid out." Ronaldo is renowned for following an extremely strict and healthy diet. According to ESPNFC, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner and eats up to six meals and take five naps in a single "typical" day. He is known to start his days with ham and cheese and a side of yogurt for breakfast, before brunching on avocado toast. He then typically eats two lunches and two dinners to fuel the rest of his day. Ronaldo's first lunch of chicken and salad is often followed by fish with salad, eggs, and olives. In the evening, he'll then either stick with fish swordfish, tuna, or cod or switches to some type of meat. According to his former personal chef, Ronaldo also loves to eat black rice, and to have his food cooked in coconut oil. He doesn't drink alcohol, and famously abhors fizzy drinks like Coca-Cola.

A 4-year-old Texas girl has died of COVID-19 which she likely contracted from her mom, a staunch anti-vaxxer, the grieving parent said. Little Kali Cook died in her sleep at home in Bacliff on Tuesday, just five hours after she woke in the early hours with the first signs of a fever, mom Karra Harwood told local media. Kali was perfectly fine, and then she was gone, the shattered mother told the Houston Chronicle. It took her so fast. Harwood said she had tested positive the previous day, with her and her fianc, William Tucker, already out of work because they were sick and quarantining at home. I tried to stay away from her and didnt want her and my other kids to get it, she told the Galveston County Daily News of Kali and her brother and 5-month-old sister, both of whom also got infected.

The mom admitted that she now regrets opposing COVID-19 vaccines. In Texas, the vaccination rate is just a fraction over 50 percent, Johns Hopkins University data shows. I was one of the people that was anti, I was against it, she told her local paper of the shots. Now, I wish I never was, she admitted. Kali was the first child to have died of COVID-19 in Galveston County during the pandemic, which has seen nearly 50,000 confirmed cases and more than 470 other deaths there, according to local health officials. This is a terrible thing, but I think people need to know about it, area health official Philip Keiser told the Galveston County Daily News of the youngsters death. Its very important, if your kids are sick, not to say, Oh, theyre going to be OK, Keiser said. If your kids are sick, go seek out medical care. Meanwhile, Harwood has launched an online fundraiser to help while she and her fianc are still out of work and it quickly surpassed their goal of $20,000. Her heart was too pure for this cruel world and God decided he needed another beautiful angel on his side, they wrote of Kali.

https://www.khon2.com/news/alabama-man-dies-after-43-hospitals-with-full-icus-turned-him-away-family-urges-covid-19-vaccines/

The family of an Alabama man who died of heart issues more than 200 miles from his home is asking people to get vaccinated against the coronavirus after more than 40 hospitals across three states were unable to accept him due to full cardiac ICUs. Ray Martin DeMonia died Sept. 1; three days before his 74th birthday, his family said. DeMonia suffered a heart attack and was transferred to the nearest available bed, which was more than 200 miles away at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi.

In his obituary, his family urged people to get vaccinated against COVID-19. In honor of Ray, please get vaccinated if you have not, in an effort to free up resources for non-COVID-related emergencies, the obituary read. Cases in COVID-19 cases are once again pushing hospitals across the country to their limits. Danne Howard, the Alabama Hospital Association deputy director, said the state is in a dire place. The COVID-19 surge began in mid-august and has now reached its highest point ever during the pandemic. I cant predict whats going to happen tomorrow, but were certainly not rending in the right direction, Howard said. Although hospitals do have the capability to expand capacity, Howard said theres a lack of staff to handle that change adequately. Thats why were so aggressively trying to find additional resources, so those decisions dont have to be made, so those types of life-or-death situations are not something that have to be faced, Howard explained. On Tuesday, Alabama saw 83 more ICU patients than ICU beds open statewide. On Wednesday, there were 94 more ICU patients than beds available.
