Why would I be scared of someone open carrying? First, they had to pass federal background check to buy that gun. Then, they researched gun laws to be able to understand that open carry is legal in their jurisdiction. Finally, they aren't trying to sneak a weapon onto a plane or anything. They're just exercising their second amendment right to personal defense.

How about a poll refined by whether your state allows open carry? Kenosha is a 31 minute drive from Antioch and Wisconsin allows open carry. Will people vote the same regardless of their personal safety? I think not.

I read a CBS summary. KR says, "I did nothing wrong, I defended myself." For me this is enough to convict him: his 'I defended myself' is fine. It is the 'I did nothing wrong.' When Kyle Rittenhouse said "I did nothing wrong ... ", he is putting himself above the law.

When people sit in a jury, they try to put their prejudices aside. The only way the accused will be found not guilty by the jury is if they fail to put their prejudices aside so the defense is doing this to stop the jury from being rational.

Putting Kyle Rittenhouse on the stand is a calculated risk. This person is pathetic enough that it will take a masterful cross examination to make him look like a scumbag. Hopefully, the prosecution team is being coached, as I post, on how to cross examine KR without looking like a monster.

A condo building is almost done on the adjacent lot. I know that there is a housing shortage but I wonder whether it is just me or is the siding they are putting up that butt-ugly and will the units sell?

For two or three days the construction workers were obnoxious in a totally clueless way with their drilling and their ladders where we need to walk. I really do not feel comfortable with sawdust spraying out and a heavy vibrating drill being held over my head. (Dudes were not wearing safety goggles or face masks). You know. even people sweeping the public sidewalk will stop and let you pass but these guys were on our private walk and would not move or pause. So glad that is over. Now they are just working overhead.

White with a big brown patch and a smaller black patch. Most of it is white and the surface is just irregular enough to make it look bad. I would provide a pic but my skill with picture taking is not sufficient to capture the way that the light shines off it. The immediate impression is that the foreman went by the local highschool and hired some boys on their way home.

While I believe that the video should be evidence, the judge may have disallowed the above video out of caution. We all know that the higher courts are stacked with Bush cronies and Trump cronies who are slavering for the chance to declare a mistrial on any fair outcome.

I do not think anyone should be optimistic about 2024. I would be more confidant that Trump will not win, if Trump is in jail. If Illinois governors can go to jail, I do not see why Trump cannot.

Resolved. The water for the entire block was off. Thus there was some pressure on the city to fix the issue. However, typical of Chicago no one knows why the water was off.
