Just some things to note here.

1. Telling police you are "not someone to fuck with" then taking your gun out and putting it on display is criminal menacing. In Texas, it would at least fall under probable cause to arrest under Deadly Conduct or Aggravated Assault. This is an unprovoked escalation from the suspect. No, police conducting a legal investigation into a reckless driving call is not "escalation". They have a legal right to conduct their investigation.
2. It looks like police remained on the sidewalk until the suspect took out his gun. It's also probably about this point when the police grabbed the bean bagger.
3. Inconspicuous edit at 2:02 where some exchange just seems to vanish. Doesn't seem particularly transparent of the video uploader.
4. Police did try to de-escalate. They tried to ask him his name, they tried to tell him they just wanted to talk, ect. They kept a calm tone and a safe distance. They did not start shooting when they first saw the gun and calmly told him to put it down.
5. Another inconspicuous edit at 2:20 right when the suspect begins to yell at the police again. Hmm. I'm guessing they didn't edit out sections where the suspect is trying to reasonably explain himself. If he is making actionable threats to police during these edited periods it would mean the justification for an Aggravated Assault charge is a sure thing.
6. There is several seconds after the suspect gets shot with a bean bag where he is clearly aware he was not shot with a bullet, then draws his gun, says again "I'm not a motherfucker you want to fuck with", and starts approaching them with his gun drawn. Several seconds. This was not a "bang-bang" situation. The suspect did not try to retreat. The suspect did not obey police orders. The suspect approached police officers with a gun with the obvious intent to shoot at them while his wife pleaded with him not to.
7. Being shot with a bean bag by police does not give you a legal right to self-defense against police. You do not have a legal right to self-defense against police except under the absolutely most specific circumstances. This is not one of them. Police are clearly detaining this man for questioning. After he begins to criminally menace, they are allowed to order him to drop the weapon and put his hands up, then arrest him. You have to cooperate with police. Does that make your skin tingle? Guess what, you have to do all kinds of things in society. It's just how it works. We draw the lines at certain things and call it "freedom". The right to criminally menace with a firearm then disobey police after is not one of those things.
8. As an aside, drawing a gun on police is always the worst thing you could ever do. Even if you are in a shoot out with police. Even if you have already been shot by police. It is never the right move. Your gun does not make you safe. Asking civilians not to draw guns on police, attack police, or run away from police is not asking for a higher standards from civilians. It's literally asking for the bare minimum. And I can't stress this enough. It's literally the bare minimum standards not to shoot at, attack, or run away from police. No, that doesn't justify every police shooting. But it is an indictment into how absolutely fucking stupid you need to be to try this. It doesn't work. You will get hurt or die or go to prison for 20 years, and also lose any right to compensation through our justice system. Your fate is always going to be worse than if you just comply. Stop encouraging this kind of behavior. Stop treating these people like heroes. It does a disservice to those who lose their life to blatant police abuse and it encourages more fool-hardy idiots to try the same thing.

What you're saying is sexist; you're assigning a role to an entire gender based of their reproductive ability. You're insinuating that if a woman gives birth they should have to (potentially) sacrifice their job entirely, as opposed to the world moving forward into an age where mothers can do both.

They can't do both. You can't be working and then at the same time caring for your child. You can't be in two places at one time.

Also keep in mind that caring for a very young child is temporary. They aren't giving up their career, just postponing it for several years.

No they can't. They either send them to daycare to be raised by strangers or they hire nannies if they're wealthy enough to afford that.

Do realize how long you breastfeed for? Its not just the 6 weeks disability you get. After that you can take FMLA but that is unpaid.

Breast milk only for 6 months. Then still breast milk along with solids for another year.

They arent supposed to get regular milk during that time. It doesnt get them the nutrients they need. If you arent breastfeeding then you have to buy formula which is extremely expensive.

My younger kid breastfeed until 2 when I finally cut her off.

I'm well aware of that. I'm suggesting people should wait until they can survive on one income before having a kid.

Lactation room is the technical term. Breastfeeding room is more slang; but some mothers do have to bring their children to work, and its not really a big deal. Say your nanny comes down with the flu, what is the mother supposed to do? Think a little harder next time.

It is a big deal because the workplace isn't for kids. What is the mom supposed to do? Maybe stay home and take care of her own baby.

No. I would have understood if she pulled out of the Olympics entirely for the year but for her to go all the way to the finals and then ditch them when they needed her the most just so she can focus on her mental health is pretty messed up.

The video appears to show Breinholt, still handcuffed, with his hand on the officers gun as Wilhelm and Atkin started to wrestle with him. The gun was not removed from its holster.

Did we miss that part, guys? Where he had his hand on the officer's gun?

That's weird. Even when I look it up on Google I get conflicting answers as to whether Mercury is safe to touch or not. It should be pretty straightforward I would think. It'll either hurt you or it won't.

I don't know how he was able to stick his hand into that mercury without being poisoned. I remember watching a video where a scientist got two drops of mercury on her hand and it went right through the glove and she ended up dying a couple months later.

What's really crazy about this is that a few years ago they didn't go for nearly that much. I remember around 2016 or so when I looked up the prices the first game went for like 30 bucks and the others went for like 15 or 20 at most. I'm starting to wish I bought a few copies so I could sell them now.

I don't know. Would they be so quick to turn their guns on their own friends and family members? Because that's who they'd be killing. I think a significant number of them would refuse to obey and would side with the people.

Actually that's not how it went. The boy answered yes to all the questions and the girl was overjoyed at first but then he said "Look before we start this relationship I have to inform you of something. A lot of people seem to think Joel's motivations were entirely selfish, that he cared about nothing other than not losing Ellie. In the immediate sense that was probably true. He was thinking "I won't let them murder my replacement daughter!" Deeper down I think there was more to it than that though. Think about everything he had gone through and everything he had seen from the start of the game to the end.

The city he lived in at the start was one of the few places that was relatively safe and even that was hardly an ideal place. It was controlled by the military who ruled with an iron fist and often abused their power. Everywhere he and Ellie went after that was full of infected or hunters. He saw two people murdered in cold blood by hunters as they ran away and begged for their lives just so they could steal their shoes.

Henry and Sam were two of the only decent friendly people they met and he watched Sam turn into an infected and then Henry committed suicide in front of him. When they finally made it to the Fireflies, there was almost nothing left of them. There were a few scientists and military guys holed up in a hospital surrounded by infected and this small group of people were supposed to somehow create a vaccine that would save humanity even though they didn't have the equipment or resources for that, nor the ability to mass produce and distribute a vaccine to whatever remnants of humanity were left.

When Joel found the Fireflies, they treated him like a criminal. Ellie was drowning and when he pulled her out of the water and was doing CPR on her, they pointed their guns at him and knocked him out when he begged them for help. Then they were going to kill Ellie and take her brain out without asking her if she was okay with it and without even giving Joel a chance to say goodbye.

Joel knew that most of humankind had gone extinct and the majority of those who were left were either people living under an oppressive military regime, hunters who murdered outsiders on sight or crazy cultists who cannibalized people. I think that's why he didn't let Ellie die. There was almost nothing left of the world to be saved and he wasn't going to let Ellie die for the few assholes who were left behind.

This has already even addressed. My argument is that Joel wasn't aware of whether or not Marlene had consent during their initial conversation, and that it wasn't his concern anyway as he would have killed everyone to save her life regardless.

What Joel was aware of has nothing to do with the fact that it's improper to say somebody "would want" something unless you didn't ask them. She would have said "It's what she wants." "Would want" implies a lack of direct knowledge.

@the0rebirth There is direct evidence though. Marlene tells Joel "It's what she would want and you know it." If you ask someone if they want something and they say yes, you don't later say they "would have" wanted it, you say they want it. Saying someone "would" want something means you didn't directly ask them but you're inferring that they'd want it based on their personality and character.

Answering TC's question, I don't believe the Fireflies had any real shot of making a vaccine for the infection and even if they did, most of the human population are either hunters or infected so it would have been a waste.

I love spicy food and have always wanted to do some kind of spice challenge. I saw LA Beast do the Lil Nitro challenge a couple weeks back so I decided to do it too. It's definitely the hottest things I've ever eaten but even then it wasn't that bad. The first couple minutes were the worst as far as the pain goes and then I started feeling lightheaded and my hands and arms were tingling. Then I felt a bit nauseated and my stomach started to hurt which it still does after about 20 minutes. Overall though, not bad. As dramatic as people are on YouTube I thought I would be rolling around on the floor in anguish.

Just water mainly. I have V8 in the morning and some peppermint tea every now and then.
