Honestly been smoking half my life. I still enjoy it most days. Some days it does feel like I'm just doing it out of habit though.

Being out of work injured is sucking right now cause I'm used to semi chain smoking the hour before I go to work and the 2 or 3 hours before i go to bed after. So I'm going through them quick now having the whole day
I've known a few people now who enjoy chain smoking and I think the fact that I kinda stepped back from that after the first couple years that I started helped a lot. Not having to drive this past year helped a lot too :\

I never got how people could smoke so much in a row though lol. I guess you get used to it.

For me its knowing I have a limited amount of time to do it. Like I don't smoke nearly as hard after work as I do before. Cause there is a time I should go to bed but I aint gotta. Going to work I have a set time and know I won't have another for 12 hours

Don't start smoking. So bad and so hard to stop. I've just recently managed to switch to vaping. Still a long way to go to completely eliminate nicotine, but I feel it's a solid start. Just stay away from the death sticks.

My advice - go to nicotine-free before you go completely vape-free.

so when I did research into smoking cessation a few years ago, I found a few sources that mention that quitting cold turkey is the most reliable method compared to trying to wean off of it.

though statistically people relapse multiple times before "fully" quitting anyway.

Oh I intend to. Gonna gradually roll the nicotine back until I'm vaping zero nicotine and then ease off that. A long process, but it's the first time I've been able to get off cigarettes since I was a teenager.

Seriously, don't.

I've been an on again off again smoker basically all of my adult life and it's a stupid habit that I wish I'd never started. It's terrible for you, a complete waste of money, and a bitch to kick. Every smoker I know would tell you the same.

Don't smoke and if you already do you should quit. My mom caught COPD from smoking and it got to a point where she couldn't walk 10 feet without gasping for air. You don't want to end up like that.

Speaking from my experience, switching to the vape, then getting down to zero nicotine, is what worked. If I tried to just drop it cold-turkey (while not on zero nic), I ended up back on it very quickly. When I got to zero nicotine, I pretty much stopped having any desire to vape within a week. I will note I worked down to that slowly, in particular, I'd been on 0.5mg for about a month beforehand, and then 1mg for about two months before that.

Eh as a teen my friends and I had been known to take unfinished ciggarettes out of peoples ash tray (like one they put out with like a quarter of it left) and smoke em. So I wouldn't put it past young teens willing to smoke it after being in a trash can.

As a smoker, just dont. Its nasty, expensive, smells bad, and bad for your health. Plus you have to find places to smoke when you go places.

It's not worth it man.

Hm

Well I'm glad it worked for you!

I got into vaping a few times and it was a disaster every time. First time I had a Kanger starter kit which actually worked well except the tank was small so I bought a bigger tank but then I needed a bigger battery and then it started becoming a mess trying to maintain this stuff so I went back to smoking. Second time I bought a different set-up altogether and it was even worse, the tank was supposed to be one of the best for its time but it was leaking constantly.

We live in a weird world. Hey can I charge my cigarette? Sorry I'm charging my book right now

Oh man lol, the *very* first time I vaped it was a disposable Blu thing and it worked really well. So I figured fuck it, I'll buy an actual kit. It was a cigarette-pack-sized case, that came two batteries and the vape juice containers. You screwed the container onto the battery and it looked like a cigarette, and you charged it in the case and shit. It was a really cool concept... except the batteries I got were absolute duds and I was on a vacation and didn't want to waste time buying cigarettes. Was so disappointing though -_-

Thats pretty much the same path I took, lol. Started with the Blus (cant do em now, as theyre really not that great), then moved onto battery and tank setups. I always had issues with leakage though, so eventually I stopped entirely.

I probably stayed vape free for 4-5 years, but in the past year or so when driving around and DoorDashing, I always have to have a disposable with me. I get one that has 1500 puffs and it lasts me a good week or so.

But yeah, as everyone here has mentioned, just dont start. Once you do, you can pretty much guarantee youll be hooked to nicotine for all your life one way or another. I never do cigs anymore, and havent for probably 10 or so years, but the vaping aint great for you either and I cant seem to shake it. If anything vaping can be even worse since its just so easy to pick it up and do it anytime. I would never dream of lighting up a cig while working from home, but a vape pen? Anywhere, anytime, man.

Marlboro red 100s or Newport red 100s are what I like.

Ideally you could get natural tobacco thats handcut and roll it yourself, thats harder to do than walking to the convenience store though.

Uh, yeah, no fucking wonder you're getting side effects at that level of nicotine. I was a fairly heavy smoker before I switched, I started on 24mg and that was too much for me - quickly dropped to 18mg, which was what I stayed on for quite some time.

Well I would try something else. I suggest getting a pack of Delta8 gummies and trying those first. Delta 8 is legal is most states, and is a derivative of cannabis.

If you insist on cigarettes though get Newport Reds if you dont want menthol.
