The date is set for Cinder to be snipped.

Been bringing him in more for longer periods, he's decided to be super chill and playful in my room, even decided to take over my chair and take a bath. Him and Furrball have crossed paths previously with minimal issue, but I guess today she felt she had to defend her territory and swatted at him, didn't touch him, but did chase him through the house as both hissed at each other.

He really likes biting my clothes and shoes, so dug out a toy for him to chew.

As a surprise, Mystic rolled over onto his back mewing all playful to me. I've never seen him do that, but it is interesting to see a big tuff fluffy boi act like that. He ran off an intruding tom earlier.

Cats are a disease. D:

I fed the monsters their breakfast and afterwards I was giving pets to Cinder, Sofie kept swatting at my hand until she could grab and lick my hand. She then demanded I pet her instead of her brother.

Those are some awesome names! Doyin think Mystic will become a permanent houseguest?
Mystic isn't coming into/allowed in the house, he's still too feral and sprays everywhere. Letting him in would be similiar to letting a homeless person in and letting them pee on your stuff. He does however keep the outside steps on lock down by lounging across them.

The only one that really comes inside is Cinder, but currently under close supervision as he's already pulled the curtains down and dismounted the rail when I turned away for 4 seconds due to Furrball. I have let Sofie and Sadie in briefly, but they go into 'get me the hell out of here' mode and stress out. In the future it'll pretty much be only Cinder and Furrball inside. The rest are yard beasts.

The swarm attacking your leg must look so cute! (I'm sure it doesn't feel good though: p)

I'm glad the tom is trusting you more... do you have an in house name?
It doesn't hurt, it's mostly just fear of stepping on all these paws and tails as they try their best to trip you. I've already sorta tripped on the mother when she decided to cut me off mid stride causing her to dart into something metal and 6 cats suddenly shot to 3 houses in seconds.

The 5 that aren't the mother have names. It's mostly just for designation/clarification since the clinic does need a name even for ferals/TNR. The naming method ranged from using a random name generator for influence to even The Golden Girls. As I said before, calling them 'big scaredy fluff' and 'screamy cat' only works for so long as official names.

  • Mystic - The ex-tom, he's large, has long black fur with a very dark brown field/gradient on his lower back. Mostly a random pick, but fits because we don't know where he's from or goes, he's been around for 2.5-3 years and looks ominous as hell.
  • Sadie - The smol female tabby that's dark with an orange nova on her back. Looks like a saddle, so kinda inspired that. She'll follow me relentlessly when outside and rub against legs.
  • Sofie - The big fluffy female tabby that's most likely inherited the fur and brown field from Mystic. Inspired by Sophia from Golden Girls, but also the word 'soft' due to being considerably larger than the other 3.
  • Sunnie - The split orange female tabby. Originally it was Sandie due to sandstone, then changed it because saying Sadie and Sandie was too similiar. She's the brightest and loudest so it fits too.
  • Cinder - The voidling, he's all black except for a ~1cm of white on his sternum/throat. Originally he was Cosmo, but I switched to the alternative due to various reasons. One of which being the neighbor's dog is named Cosmos, which felt like an awkward moment waiting to happen.

They aren't the most original or anything, but they get the job done.

Honestly the camera doesn't do her tail justice. What she lacks on length she makes up in thiccness it's like racoon lol
Ah, that better explains what you were refering to comparing to Furrball's tail. She doesn't have remotely the same length or movement, it's pretty much perpetually hugging the left thigh in a weird streamline manner.

D:
So, I know I mentioned in the previous topic how it was peculiar that the feral kittens were nursing at 12-13 weeks and how we were suspecting it's possible the mother's pregnant again. Though it's hard to tell for certain. Well, now she's basically a freighter and very clearly pregnant, like gonna probably pop in 1-2 weeks pregnant. She's still very evasive and we're now really trying to figure out how to catch her, outside of basically just doing a grab and throw, which will end poorly.

As for the others, Furrball is fluctuating between not eating and being super picky. The kittens are getting big and hanging out on their own much more. The 3 females are like piranhas in that if you step outside one will constantly follow you and rub on your leg, causing the others to join in, then you have 3 cats swarming and circling you meowing. The voidling just kinda hangs out in his spots and is mega chill.

The big former tom we got fixed let me finally pet and scritch his back/head. It's not a pleasant texture, but he gives this look like he's not been touch in a long time, if ever. He's not hissing/biting, which is good considering he's a big boi and it'd hurt.

Is it harder to tow it parked that way and again the building?
No, and towing is based on the drivetrain of the vehicle itself. You tow a vehicle by lifting the drivewheels, so fwd you tow by the front. If it's awd then they use those dollies, those tiny little wheels/rollerskates you might have seen, on the trailing wheels.

Either way a tow truck has no problem dragging a car in park and some will even fork lift style it from the side and pivot it around if possible. Ofcourse once it's removed from the space it can be towed correctly.

My guess is they got tired of people clogging up the throughway or causing confusion. That or some past residents did some real shit job of parking. I mean, I can fully understand why landlords/apartments hate pets from personal experience... so all it takes is 1 clown.
It's probably due to license plate visibility if there's no front plates.

It's been a bit, but I brought the voidling into the house some more, he seems more calm/purry. Revved his growl motor at Furrball, but they touched noses and seem to be... ok? I don't know, they just chilled on the floor 5 feet apart for like 20 minutes until he just rolled onto his side. Still seems confused/scared.

I've also decided to most likely change his name, because it wasn't completely officialized and already had prior reconsideration the other week. What tipped it over was the neighbor calling their dog, with the same name. "Well this is awkward" Not to say anything's wrong with it, but yeah idk... felt weird.

As for the others, the hissy fluff is more relaxed with me, to the point I can now hold her to an extent. The vocal one with a split face is much more affectionate/friendly. The smol girl is still smol.

I'm concerned with the adult male we had neutered, he has a bite/wound on his head, caused an abscess and it ruptured, so now has a lovely tunnel wound on his head. Unfortunately he won't let anyone touch him and has figured out traps are bad, so can't really treat it. Meanwhile as I predicted, another tomcat that is his doppleganger (both are black long hair, with the intruder having slightly shorter fur) is creeping into the area.

I take it you are in a house? That's a lot of feline friends! Good job trying to TNR them, at least doing what you can. Do you think the tom cat will want to come inside now that he's fixed?
Yeah, houses with decent sized yards and some random overgrowth so they get to run around in a mini-forest. Just to give an idea of how big some of the properties here were/are they're building 7 houses where 2 former house properties were, and put in an entire street with 10+ where 1 house's property was.

It's weird seeing as these places that used to have wooded/empty space just jam packed with houses or buildings now.

Should note, it's clearly not a dense city, kind of a rural/city mix with more city overtaking over the years. I mean we've got red foxes, oppossums, 9 banded armadillos, raccoons, etc. :/ Speaking of foxes, for about a year we had a fox literally hanging out desperately wanting to be our pet. It was the cutest/saddest thing and being 3 feet from a wild fox is something.

Correction, the queen showed up in April, cuz the kittens were born April 22-24.

Either way been fostering them and we debated for a while what to do with them. Shelter basically said that if we brought them in they'd just be put down due to being wild/untamed and they're over capacity, so sought an alternative. We know numerous neighbors and they're fine with their presence, some even kinda want to treat them as pets. So they'll be everyone's pets I guess.

How many cats do you have? (Bearing in mind you can never have too many cats)
Depends on how you look at it.
1 (had 2 before).

Besides her there's also a friendly feral queen, her 4 kittens, and a big ex-tomcat. I was randomly feeding the tomcat for about 2 years in an attempt to woo him, then in May this year a very friendly pregnant (unknown at the time) cat that hangs out in the tom's territory decided we have food because the person who was feeding them basically stopped. Then she became unpregnant and relocated the rascals over here at the start of June.

So let it be known, if you attempt to befriend 1 cat you might end up with 6 of the buggers. D:
You can only really hold 2, and the other 2 only let me touch/pick them up, but not really. The mother is friendly to select few, but will remove your arm if you pick her up, and I only just recently got to touch big boi. He feels like someone who never bathes... so that's great. The female kittens and big boi are fixed and ear tipped. The voidling will go a more routine route that keeps the ear, assuming no one nabs him.

Anyways, I currently have dibs on 1 kitten (the voidling), the others will be community cats as they're still associated with other nearby cats due to being related/a colony. There's even a litter of 4 across the street and 3 at their original hangout. So like I said in a previous post "there's gonna be cats everywhere" even without counting the 3 other adults. Even the neighbors living in the territory/range of them said they wouldn't mind them around and would randomly help feed them. I've already seen them kill roaches/lizards and the mother killed a rat for us as a gift.

Well that's good. One thing I didn't fully mention about Furrball, is that two or three times now she's been near death, because she has a polyp in her nasal passage and it bleeds. So she can't smell/sense food/water and thus starves. Down to about half her normal weight, talking from 7-9ish down to 4.6 pounds a few weeks ago.

There was some appetite stimulant the one vet gave us to help, it's some ointment you rub in the ear. That and some other stuff turned it around.

On the other hand I just looked out the back door and there's 5 cats mewing and trying to break the door down for breakfast.

I've never thrown a controller, but I did once crush an already older xbox 360 controller. I squeezed it until the plastic halves started to flex/misallign on the one side and the poor left trigger/bumper were worthless.

Yes, there was/is a game that was very clearly p2w if you ever actually played it.

Navyfield

I love how even looking it up to see if it's still up the text for it claims it's not p2w. Alright...
Unless they drastically changed it, for the longest time the way it worked was... it's f2p. However, you had to roll dice and pay upwards of 100-150 dollars per ship to get great crew stats. Now you might be wondering "just grind" you cannot get the one sailor type free, you gotta buy em. So basically you had to spend money to fill out your crew stations with the elites/veterans, which could die in battle and have to be rebought if enough died.

How effective were they? Try comparing a shell grouping of a dime to the diameter of a tennis ball. Not to mention the range indicators, reload speed, repairs.

It was a neato game for what it was, but good lord was it skewed to having you pay 100+ per ship line if you wanted to actually be decent. It's not surprising as it's korean iirc.

Not by much, I just know it's a possiblity/concern. All I know is she's nursing them past the usual age range for drying up, and she has a slight bulge that could just as well be fat/organs. So she's either got more in the works or just suspicious.

The family photos are awesome! I'm impressed that you can tell the three non black ones apart.. is it usual for kittens to keep nursing after 12 weeks?
It's easy to spot the longer hair one apart, the two short hair ones are difficult/managable based on distance and light. The one with a spot is very dark overall except for the orange spot on the back/chest. The other is the brightest overall of the four and more of a sandstone/orange. So it's difficult, but I've gotten used to using uniformity vs darker/stark spot. They also have polar opposite personalities with one being super docile/quiet and the other very flighty/vocal.

As for the nursing/weaning... yeah, they're supposed to be fully weaned by 8-10. They been eating solid/dry food, wet food, and prey they find in the yard, but for some reason even at 13 weeks now they're occasionally nursing. Even the clinic and another place were very confused/surprised. So it's very likely she's either got another litter in the works causing the lactating or just... very generous.

As for why we haven't gotten the mother spayed yet, it's because we tried for 4 weeks to trap her, she's too smart and even called the kittens away from the trap. You can pet/rub her, but picking her up is one of those "you might lose an arm doing it" deals. We did TNR the tom that was claiming and banging everything in this location, so there's that.

This is the big scaredy fluff, she's so damn sawft and hisses at everything. Though she's grown to stop hissing at me and seems to be the best climber so far. She and one with a split face are closest together.
-
Meanwhile, when I'm not dealing with the above heartbreakers and go inside I have to deal with this....

She's very jealous/clingy lately.
-
As a bonus I present to you actual mommy milkers. I couldn't resist...
This is what it looks like when 4 12+ week old kittens nurse on their poor mother. It's pretty much a damn mugging. This is also why I'm concerned she's working on another set of kittens. The top two are literally pushing and rolling her over as she gives a face that says it all.

I feel like I'm slightly cheating, but more cats for the cat topic.

Ok, I sifted through to narrow it down for now, give each one a better showcase so to speak. Assuming gamefaqs doesn't troll me with rotation/limits. And yeah, they all have names... mostly because saying 'the big scaredy fluff' or 'the screamy one' was a bit weird long term. Their ears are looking much better than in these images.

This is the voidling roughly 20-25 minutes after his rescue from the neighbor's yard and eating. I picked the one with his eyes open, because it underlines the fact he was exhausted from having to hide in strange dog smelling lands. Has a small white spot on his neck just above his sternum that's surprisingly hard to photo.
-

This is the smol one that I comforted when the mother was very angry/disciplinary towards. She's got a close bond with the voidling. Pretty quiet and the orange/brown section really pops in person.
-

She still has a booboo on the bridge of her nose here so it makes it look weird/dark, but it's mostly cleared up now. She has a near perfect 50/50 split face with one half being black/brown, the other pink/orange. It's very striking and she's very vocal, like man is she vocal.

I got a bunch of pics since I last posted to sift through, can't possibly post em all. I'll find some highlights later.

Furrball is seemingly jealous and fully aware of the cats outside. She's been randomly holding my lap hostage.

The little heartbreakers are growing up. The voidling seriously had me concerned a few mornings ago. He's always barging into the door and last to leave at food time. Didn't show up all breakfast, so as the others ate I walked the yard and neighbor's yard expecting to find a body due to raccoons.
Other neighbors said something along the lines of "leave it alone" to their kid that made me wonder. After they left I look over and see him creep out from cover. Apparently somewhere in the morning he climbed the fence or a tree and got stuck on their side where they have 2 large dogs (they were inside at the time). So I had to swiftly walk over to bail him out as he met me halfway.

Got extra food for him, then a few hours later he held onto my hand with his forepaws, so he could lick it repeatedly. I swear he's too sweet.

Oh and I've also been randomly introducing him to Furrball, so that's been interesting.
