If you go the Scoia'tael path in the first game, Foltest ends up implementing a bunch of new anti-human protection laws. So if you went that route in the first one, Iorveth ends up killing the king most sympathetic to his cause. But the entire plot of the game hinges on Foltest not having any heirs when one of the choices you can make in the first game is to save his daughter's life lol. And I played the Roche path because I thought it was kind of weird for Geralt to go with the elf terrorist rather than the dude he'd become pals with. I really admire what they tried with the second game, but you miss out a lot of story by doing Roche's path.
