If the Switch Pro opens up the possibility of multiplats that otherwise wouldn't otherwise work I could see developers making exclusives for it. But I doubt Nintendo has any games that fit that bill and those games will be ports from elsewhere anyway.

Right, I think they would come in the form of games developed for Xbox and PS5 which the developers are able to get onto an upgraded switch but not the normal version.

There are like 85 million switches sold so far, developers don't want to rule out those potential customers, unless their game really is too tough for a normal switch to handle.

The concept of it was terrible. And a slippery slope. What if it doesn't stop at a Pro and two years later they release a Pro+ and you need to buy the Swtich 3 times in a single gen just to be able to play all the exclusives?

I really don't like it. If it's backwards compatible at choppier frames then fine but locking out games mid-gen isn't okay.

the slope isn't slippery, because developers would dig in their heels. They don't want to exclude the market of 85 million switch customers to sell to a market of 3 million Switch deluxe customers.

It's not like they were holding them back from normal 3DS. The only reason they were new-3DS-exclusive is because a normal 3DS wouldn't be able to handle Binding of Isaac, Fire Emblem warriors, Minecraft, Xenoblade.

And it's not like those games were made for and targeted to new 3DS either. They were ports from other systems that a new 3DS was able to handle.

PS4 and Xbox also had mid-generation upgrades and the differences in what's playable between the weaker and stronger versions are minimal.

The scenario you envision where you have to buy 3 different systems in a single 6-year generation to get all the exclusives wouldn't be sustainable for the industry either for customers or developers, so I'm not worried about any significant fracture of game compatibility.

1.5 speed is the same as saying "for every 1 second of time, 1.5 seconds of video will play"

It wasn't terrible, it was only two nintendo games IIRC (a port of Xenoblade and a port of Fire Emblem Warriors), SNES virtual console, and a dozen random other games, most of which were no-names.

There's an episode in season 13 that opens with a gay pride march going past their home for a minute or two, and nothing particularly funny happens, and then the simpsons go to a movie theater.

The pride march never ties back into the rest of the episode, which is about homer getting his jaws clamped shut and starting to listen to other people more. When I first saw it I was like "that was a really dumb meaningless way to open the episode"

At that point IMO the plots are very hit-and-miss but there are still a good number of funny jokes. But that moment with the pride march not going anywhere always turns me off and I lose motivation to keep watching.

When you put a character with such a soberingly realistic attitude into a show as silly as the simpsons, he comes across as a party pooper. If you try to sympathize with him too much, the jokes just become uncomfortable. It's easier to just laugh it off.

Also, at a certain point, Grimes started going too far. Trying to humiliate homer at the contest is too much.

~5 years ago I thought it could be cool to get a tattoo, I just hadn't found a design I wanted. I thought one day I'd come across something I'd like on me. But the more I waited and looked, the uglier people's tattoos started looking. I live in a city where at least like half the people have tattoos.

-Lots of people get tattoos from artists who just aren't that good. just mediocre art.
-Many tattoos are just uninspired generic stuff. It's like buying a picture frame and leaving the stock placeholder image that came in the frame.
-Things that are personal to somebody often just look dumb to other people who aren't in on it
-Tattoos on hairy skin look bad and often draw more attention to the leg hair than the tattoo itself
-Tattoos look cool at first but the linework and colors blur and fade and it ends up looking bad

That said, your body is your canvas and if you're happy with it then that's what matters most, I'm just some random stranger

Splatoon 3 will be supported for a while just like the first two games, and it's not coming out until next year.

MP4 could be a cross-system game between switch and its successor if it takes long enough, but it will definitely come to switch

The TCG scalpers have started hanging around stores like walmart and target scoping them out, pestering employees and other customers to try to learn when they restock the cards, and gathering and sharing intel on scalper discord servers.

all so they can buy up all the cards to resell online.

I have a 2017 model and its keyboard is pathetic, I've had to ship it to be repaired twice now. The keys get janky and eventually fall out. Currently my left control key is janky, as well as my j and l keys. One of them will probably fall out within the next year, and I'll have to get it repaired a third time.

It's bc they decided to use a crappy key design so they could make the computer a millimeter thinner. For the first year or 2 they charged like 400 dollars for the repair but eventually said FINE GODDAMN we'll fix them for free from now on...until 2022.

The newest ones don't have the shitty keyboards but I still think you should know how crappy they made this version. It's the 15 inch 2017 version.

I was pretty disappointed with it after Superstar Saga was so good. Also I felt like the shroobs were too serious. I kept waiting for some kind of clever punchline, but it turned out they really are just a straightforward alien invader.

My first reaction to reading your summary: "that's a cool premise for a twilight zone episode"

Sorry to be a downer but then I saw the trailer and it's really disappointing. I hate how my first reaction the very second that trailer started was "goddamn this trailer is using that generic-ass piano key at the start that every trailer editor thinks they have to use"

And the movie looks very generic in general based on that trailer. Maybe it has some interesting parts though. I feel like there are already so many stories nowadays where humanity is struck with an affliction, and they find one person (often a child) who's immune, and hope to find a cure based on that.

Of course, the set will not hit the overseas market for a while, but Pokemon fans in Japan have been waiting to score some packs. But as always, they had to deal with scalpers.

The Pokemon Center did its best to combat in-person scalping with its COVID-19 restrictions. The store set a firm time for shoppers to line up so they could get a time ticket that would allow them into the store at a certain time. The Pokemon Center told fans they should not line up early for the event, but when you are dealing with scalpers, you know they're not going to be courteous.
As expected, a long line was formed outside the Pokemon Center well before the time requested. This meant fans who followed the rules would be at the back and get a late entry when packs might be gone. So in order to push back against the rule-breaking scalpers, the Pokemon Center distributed its time tickets the best way possible. The store began handing out time slots from the back of the line.

Yes, that is right. For fans who came on time, they were given time tickets first despite being at the line's end. This means scalpers or over-eager fans in the front were relegated to the last place. And if that is not justice, well - what is?

I kind of doubt it, but I haven't done enough reading to have any confidence about it and I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. I don't think there was any time prior to the big bang, since it was infinitely dense.

I think you guys are focusing too much on what he said about "another white guy"

I actually think he's right, mainly about how this is meant to be Scarlet Witch's story. Introducing doctor strange in the last episode in a major role would make it too much about him.

But I guess it depends on how prominently he was going to be featured. Giving him a small cameo seems like it might not take too much attention from the protagonist of the series.

Nintendo actually gets a lot of flak for it on gaming forums at least. People aren't ignoring it, people have been complaining for years about their crappy controllers, their bad online, scarcity of their products, their greedy $60 pricing for Switch ports of Wii and Wii U games, and their draconian attitude toward piracy when they refuse to make their old games available.

These are all things that people online complain about OFTEN. But yeah they continue to sell tons anyway. If their next system flops then maybe they'll be forced to change strategies.
