I loved my grandfather, but I also know that he wasn't important to anyone but me and my family. As to the bolded part, education is certainly the best form of birth control. We will give them security camera footage, names, addresses, and whatever else they ask for, but the chances of them actually going after anyone are almost 0 unless they've stolen over a certain dollar amount (and even then if the package was insured they simply won't do anything). The rare few times they actually go after someone, obviously they've gotten rid of the phones they took so there's not enough evidence for a prosecution. On top of that, most of these people know exactly what they're doing and will try to get hired in a building that's just across their state lines so that the cops can't go after them due to jurisdiction limits (again, unless they've stolen enough that it can be considered a Federal offence). --- o7 Let strength be granted so the world might be mended. |

Even then we have to go to our security department, write down the make/model/color/IMEI, then we get a silver sticker with a barcode on it that must be put directly onto the phone (not on the case). Every day we scan our phones as we enter/leave the building. Even with all this in place phones are the second most pilfered item in the company (the first is food items like candy bars). People will literally apply to the job just to steal phones.
