So the anime team only had the first two volumes to work with.I wonder if the anime writing itself was concluded prior to Nightow restarting with Maximum. As I said earlier, even once you're in Maximum, several plot points are hit roughly the same. I wonder if he had those notes ready to go for both contingencies, or if he just assumed the anime would be the end of the work until he was given the green light to continue with Maximum. Make no mistake, every convention garnered HUNDREDS of StreetPasses. One fateful day at MAGFest in (I believe) 2016 I had a data corruption in my 3DS. Although it was possible to restore my progress, I ended up accidentally selecting the option to reset and lost all my StreetPass progress. Just in case you weren't already aware, the series crossed two publishers over is existence, so typically you get it as two (large) volumes of "Trigun", and after that is the publisher switch and it's called "Trigun Maximum" which is 14 more volumes. --- CyricZ He/him |

There are subtle differences throughout the parts that are concurrent, but the story takes a more serious divergence once the Gung-Ho Guns show up. Like it's clear that Nightow had notes for later parts of the story that he gave the anime production company, and then both he and the anime used those elements differently. Also, I think I read that Knives's motivation was different in the manga.Same basic idea of "humans are scum, plants are better, and we should rule the humans rather than the other way around", but the particulars of his teetering are different --- CyricZ He/him |

The anime is just far more condensed and personal. The manga goes a lot further in terms of scale but honestly hits many of the same thematic notes that the anime does. You don't even really have the opportunity to improve your abilities before you have to fight him. He just tanks damage so easily and then you watch him heal and ugh. Also the healing thing. To counter that, unlock all the "Essence of Kiwami" skills. They're on the lower section of the Soul Abilities. (I know this offhand because I too am playing.
