My analysis:

Final Fantasy
1 - mediocre
2 - never played, but supposedly trash
3 - mediocre
4 - never played, but supposedly good
5 - great
6 - great
7 - good
8 - never played, but supposedly trash and friends told me to avoid
9 - never played, but supposedly okay
10 - never played; looks like trash and friends told me to avoid
11 - never played; looks like trash and friends told me to avoid
12 - never played; looks like trash and friends told me to avoid
13 - never played; looks like trash and friends told me to avoid
14 - good
15 - never played and know absolutely nothing about

Dragon Quest
1 - never played, but looks mediocre
2 - never played, but looks mediocre
3 - fantastic
4 - never played, but supposedly fantastic
5 - fantastic
6 - never played, supposedly bad - but I think it looks pretty okay
7 - okay
8 - never played, mixed reviews from people but friends told me to avoid
9 - okay
10 - never played and know next to nothing about, aside from it being an MMO
11 - great

I'm more interested in playing the Dragon Quests I haven't played than the Final Fantasies I haven't played. Dragon Quest 3 and 5 are better than the best Final Fantasy games. Final Fantasy Tactics is the best spinoff series, but the Torneko mystery dungeon series is better than the Chocobo mystery dungeon series -- and the Dragon Quest Monsters games aren't too far behind the Final Fantasy Tactics games.
Both Dragon Quest of the Stars and Dragon Quest Tact are way better than Brave Exvius, Record Keeper, or War of the Visions.

Dragon Quest seems way more consistent, and Final Fantasy has had consistently bad looking games since the PSX era -- while Dragon Quest keeps upping the ante.

@Seaman_Prime
YES. I'm pretty sure it is! Thank you sooo fucking much. I've literally been looking for this for years.
That scratches one of four things off my list.

The other three:
Some song by the band Church of Hate from WA that has the lyrics, "fuck me with the fist you fuck yourself with; dirty little bitch, i know you want it" and "spread your fucking asshole show it to ME"
(I know it was a live video from a venue called Hell's Kitchen, but it's none that I can currently find on Youtube. I did find their album on Amazon but it's unavailable to purchase https://www.amazon.com/Plutonium-Eyes-Church-Hate/dp/B00MWFSP12)

Some weird Aussie folk singer who visited my elementary school for an assembly. she sang two songs I remember, one went "we are the denizens of the world, that's what we are" and another one that goes "you know it's true blue. aussie ex sport (sp)"

The old material from DTK (durrick tha killa, a cleveland based juggalo rapper dude). He added my best friend on Myspace and it was a huge inside joke to us. Years later he took down his old material, and my best friend literally messaged him asking for a cd of the old material and he ignored him.

The graphic style is kinda weird/ugly, and the story is horrendous -- but the gameplay is literally like a spiritual successor to FFT. It even tells you stat gains for each class, lets you reset level ups for characters, etc. and has variable difficulty settings that can make the game legitimately challenging.

Weight is a much more complicated thing than choosing to smoke a cigarette. I don't know her labs or anything about this woman's health aside from her weight - which probably will take a toll on her with age, admittedly. Even if she's incredibly unhealthy at this juncture that's not an apt comparison whatsoever unless you're some libertarian blowhard who's completely oblivious to social sciences.

to where I can possibly get a response?
I remember back around like '09-'12 sometime there was a thread on bridge9 that had like "cringy" videos. There was this one video posted that still haunts/interests me to this day.
I remember there was a really odd guy, possibly on the spectrum, with an incredibly filthy apartment. He would cook stuff in dirty pans, use excessive amounts of butter, etc. His counter was an absolute mess. He made a smoothie in one video and basically threw an entire banana - peel and all into the blender; he then talked about how the milk or something was past expiration, but expiration dates were created by the capitalist government to encourage us to consume/purchase more.
I think at another point his sink was full with dishes, and his bathroom sink was broken -- so he washed a spatula or spoon or something in his toilet water.

It MAY be this guy I found today. It's the only lead I've found in years of searching. I read a fuck ton of comments and can't find a source, though.

I'm happy with it, but I'm sure I could be happier.

I'm about 7'' length, but only like 4.4'' girth (slightly below average). It's circumcised, it doesn't have any weird discoloration, and it has a well pronounced head that's appropriated proportionate to the actual shaft (I know some dudes have some crazy large heads that look like oversized football helmets, or they're thick and have tiny heads that look like goombas from the Super Mario movie).
The skin on my balls also isn't any darker or discolored, and is tough enough to be shaved almost daily without any nicks or cuts.
Only complaints are sweat gland bumps on the shaft and a curve.

I would also say if you're interested in playing Dragon Quest Tact that it has a one time infinite reroll banner for new players - although it only includes one special banner S rank unit (Killing Machine). I think it was really smart for them to do this - one because lots of people typically reroll anyways, and two because it probably lures people into more gambling.

But in any case -- most people want two Killing Machines (a dupe gives bonus movement), or a Wight King (buffs all elemental spell damage as leader). Giant Squid is also a viable leader for buffing physical damage for all types of units, but is kind of a weaker unit itself and is outclassed by two other physical leaders whose banners just passed (Slionheart and True Form Dragonlord).

My main team right now is a Hybird team (lowers enemy frizz resistance by 25%) -- but Dragonlord and True Form Dragonlord aren't available right now, so I probably wouldn't advise going that route.

Since both S units coming with the DQ3 event are spell casters, it's probably best to just shoot for a Wight King right now if you're a new player. It'll probably be another month or so before another good S rank unit that's physical/martial/breath-based is released.

Not at all, i'm always on the prowl for a long term play at work game >_>

I haven't played it in months, so I don't know how much it's powercrept by now. It's also relatively dependent upon certain units with "faction buffs" (all the characters belong to 1-3 "factions" depending upon their roles in previous games) that give a +30% (if I remember right?) bonus to all stats. Your faction you choose to buff kind of leads you to building teams around that particular faction -- although there are more than enough viable units in each faction to have some diversity.
I think one of the starter units has a faction buff, but otherwise you are slightly pay-walled behind a few units, admittedly.
At this point it's been out for quite awhile now, and I know there's been at least 2 or 3 limited time crossovers -- so I don't know how the balance would be right now.

Dragon Quest Tact is still relatively new (we've only been through I think 6 banners? one special banner on release, 2 banners with the DQ1 event, and 3 banners with the Slime event that just ended today). The DQ3 event is starting in just a few hours. Since the game is so new it hasn't been very powercrept yet. PVP/arena hasn't even been released -- but when it is I think it'll be interesting, since different days have different limitations on available units (like they can't be certain rarity/ranks, etc.).

I mean the guy who wrote the story for TO is the same guy who wrote FFT. It's no coincidence that a lot of the same themes are present and there being some fairly obvious analogues in both games.

The FFTA is pretty much just rank and file Isekai crap that's been going on since Narnia.

I know - which is why I made that comparison. It's like FFT's story is dumbed down TO in a lot of ways. More railroaded and linear, not as much moral ambiguity, not as much charm or maturity.

So I bought Langrisser 1\2 for ps4...kinda don't like it when it isn't mobile not sure why. You should play Devil Survivor Overclock Ed, played most of your list and it's one of my favorites got it and Record Breaker just under TO:LUCT (my favorite)

I've seen how the actual Langrisser games look -- and I don't like the whole mini-party with your units thing. It looks like the streamlining in the mobile game made it much, much better -- even if I'm sure the lore/story in the OG games is probably leagues ahead. I also can't justify their price on the Switch store. So you can confirm they're not worth the purchase?
I did just get the Mario vs. Rabbids game on sale and I'm going to probably start playing that soon.

I just looked it up. Honestly the only SMT game I ever played was Persona 3, and I got to like the beach part of the game (a little over midway through?). I'm kind of conflicted on the aesthetic. I looked up the game and I'd play it if I owned a 3DS.

Can someone explain why FFT is so much more loved than FFTA?

There's more customization in FFT, the sprites look better, and the OST is better. The sprites in FFTA look clunky and too large (they look much, much better in FFTA2), the skills were more limited in FFTA and were kind of spread out throughout the game (FFTA2 made this a little better with crafting, by requiring you to choose between multiple items when receiving a good reagent), and the law system was really poorly implemented in FFTA - since it was dependent upon the calendar so you could easily manipulate it and just avoid fighting when difficult laws were enacted (FFTA2 fixed this by making the laws dependent upon the map and its unique challenges, although admittedly they made the punishment much less harsh).
The only thing I think FFTA did well was story. Everything new and unique that FFTA added - FFTA2 improved upon big time.

I haven't played those games, so I wouldn't know. I meant for my title to be "grid-based" and not isometric, so I wouldn't include like the Ogre Battle games or d&d based wrpgs. Also wouldn't include Heroes of Might and Magic games, Master of Magic, Civilization, or Age of Empires because even though they're grid-based I'd say they're more strategy games than rpg -- same with Advance Wars.

I've also never played a single Shining Force, Langrisser console game, or Super Robot Wars game.

@seankimberley42 i highly doubt you seen all the movies on my list. Some of those films most people never heard of even. Plus Come True came out 2 weeks ago, unless you have an amazing eye for horror films then you wouldn't have watched it yet. And for you to call them all pretentious means you just can't understand good movies. I mean on your list alone only star wars and memento are good films, so i guess we both are "wrong" and we will just leave it at we agree to disagree

At first I was convinced you're doing a gimmick, but if you're being serious -- my dude.
The Crow was an insanely popular film when it came out - I remember how much buzz was around it, especially after Brandon Lee's death. Fight Club is like the most stock answer to most peoples' lists like this. We already went over Oldboy, which is on like top 100 lists all over the internet - including really surface level stuff like imdb. Visitor Q is Miike's second most famous film in the west (I don't know if that's any different in Japan, considering how prolific he is). The Goonies is a film that people literally cite as defining their childhood -- it's to a lot of people what say, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, was to me and plenty of people who were little kids on the onset of the '90s. Refn is insanely popular -- tons of people literally own replicas of the jacket from Only God Forgives, and Neon Demon was a huge deal when it first started streaming on Amazon Prime. I've only seen bits of the Science of Sleep - but I'm pretty sure that's another one of those "quirky-early-2000s-indie-twee" bullshit movies like Me and You and Everyone We Know, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, etc. Kinda like Wes Anderson-lite.
I've never heard of Come True or I Kill Giants, but looking them up - the former is directed by the same person who did that awful Netflix movie In the Tall Grass, and the latter is from the same production team that did the Harry Potter films. That's not to say either are bad films - but those points don't really sell me too well on either.

I'm not trying to be a dick, because it's cool that you're passionate about films. I'm passionate about films, too. I'm not doing a dick-measuring contest either. I'm also not suggesting that anything you listed is bad; I love Visitor Q, Neon Demon, and Oldboy -- and I can acknowledge that The Crow, Fight Club, and The Goonies are good films even if they're not to my personal taste. But you don't need to pretend you're being way more obscure than other people in here.
