Yes. Anything else is "they were asking for it logic." It's not going to be readily obvious to some percentage of people, and it's going to be especially blurred if alcohol is involved. "They should be able to tell" or "they should ask" are horrible copouts that take the onus off of the person who holds all the pertinent information. It doesn't excuse murdering someone (especially where a lot of the murders seem to be people who knew but just "don't want to be seen as gay" by people around them), but hiding a physical characteristic about oneself that can very well change a person's idea of consent it horrible.

It's kind of at the breaking point of the suspension of disbelief how everything just kind of slots into place, especially the Spider Man film, but it's just comic book nonsense at the end of the day.

Nobody is going to give a fuck about the particular context of a three second line in such circumstances.

Looking up Rolex specifically, it looks like a bunch of smoke and mirrors like diamonds to make their products seem special when the only thing particularly special is their brand name. Im not arguing that it is important. Its a useless, vain, pointless waste of time. It would probably be a good thing it it went away.

Im arguing that it is important to the people in charge, hence it is a function of the job. Our opinion on its utility to the viewer does not matter. What matters is its utility in terms of making money for organizations and player. This somehow is important enough to them that they are fine losing a big name player, which is enough proof that keeping people in line for the future revenue is more important than the entire amount shed produce by being there.

This idea of trying to separate the sports player from the media figure is meaningless because that is the reality of big name sports. That is not going to change without big changes in how things operate, which wont happen without massive loss of revenue.

You keep ignoring the fact she has never been a media personality... ever. There has never been a famous Osaka interview or conference or quote. Her interviews never pull big views or ratings.

Her popularity and appeal came from kicking ass at Tennis.

And in terms of "Making money" they lose money by her quitting the tournament.

None of which even addresses why she couldn't have a spokesperson

You keep just saying nonsense and not backing it up with any reason or logic even before you touch on the mental health stuff.

It's just silly
It doesnt matter if shes not some highly notorious interviewee. What matters is that her face is out there when they want it to be out there. I wouldnt be surprised if there is a metric used to determine how much money her face makes her sponsors every time she appears on TV. If this had no benefit in making them money, they wouldnt do it. That is why it is part of the job. There are useless job functions out there, but they wouldnt waste time when these are events that move tens or hundreds of millions of dollars. In the same way that pre-match face offs make money in boxing by instilling hype, these somehow pay off for the venues and advertisers. She is the brand. Spokespeople only work in particular circumstances like official announcements of the players status and shit like that.

If she wants to be paid to play tennis, she can just skip out on all the big name stuff and stick with smaller but still prestigious organizations. If she wants to be among the best in the world and the top money makers, thats how the game is played.
