2. Enjoy your shitty mobile game and all its microtransactions.

Also they patched the barret glitch :( now i'm gonna miss a trophy.

We have no idea what it's going to cost, they have put other games on mobile that were not stupidly expensive and full games. Acting like herp derp every mobile game means 1000 microtransactions is wrong.

Especially when we live in a console world where 10-20 games a year come out with a ton of micro transactions. That still have the gaul to charge $59.99 for it before you get to even pay them for the other shit.

They are making a more faithful remake for it soon that will have all the content. I am pretty sure it's back to the old combat style of FF VII.

So we will get the massive reimagining of FF VII on PS5 and then this more of a good graphical upgrade that changes far less of FF VII soon. Crap the remake is going to be so through in this style that it will contain all FF VII games in it.

The thing is she's had funny roles over the years. It's kind of like Nic Cage where he'll have some good movies, then involve himself in a lot of stuff that makes you wonder how he still has a career.

EDIT: Eh... after looking over her filmography, the only thing I see where I can say "Well, she was pretty good in that" was Gilmore Girls, although I realize I haven't seen maybe 3/4s of the things she's been in.

She got an Oscar nomination for "Can You Ever Forgive Me?" and "Bridesmaids" also got her some massive credit for being very good in it. So she is a talented actress she just falls into the same roles over and over again, kind of what Chris Farley was known for before he died.

Here is one thing I always remember hearing someone say. "You can't coach height." So yeah those with the height advantage should use it. If they have the skills to go pro too, better yet for them. If not hopefully they can learn to use their God given advantage to their benefit.

They have said that in the past and thus why in the 90s and 00's we saw a lot of low skill players get into the NBA just because they were 7 feet tall at least. The problem was most of them never became even reasonable role players since they could not compete at an NBA level.

Now the NBA rarely gives those guys serious deals since say 2010ish, though I guess a few might be around in the G-League the development league for the NBA. Sure you can't teach height but the odds of a subpar NBA player becoming an average or better NBA player is like 4-5% at best.

So either they won't offer her any roles but these or she just has a horrible agent.

Jordan Peterson is a mixed bag. Some of his work offers some legitimate value, but you've got to be able to filter a lot of craziness out to get to it. Also, he is put on a pedestal and often given a platform to espouse his views on things that are wildly outside his realm of expertise. That's the main reason he's become dangerous. Like, people who follow the advice and values his book provides may legitimately see an improvement in some aspects of their lives, then they'll attach part of their ego and identity to his, and then suddenly everything he says is gospel. It's a cult of personality for fragile men.

Personally, I think all the benefits you can find in his work can be found elsewhere, and without all the wackiness attached. Basically all of his good ideas are just derived from Jung. For some reason JP gets attached to stoicism a lot despite being an anti-stoic as far as I'm concerned, so I like to recommend actual stoic philosophy to people who have found value in his work. It helps them to start untwisting the good from the bad.

That shit happens with other people I saw a news broadcast where they asked Dr. Phil about Covid, back when Covid was just showing up in America. I was stunned that they were taking the time to ask a psychologist about a virus. Yeah, let me go ask a grocery worker for a professional opinion about some potential car problem. Ironically enough, it was one of the smaller towns in my area that had a hobby shop that years ago was the most reliable for all kinds of events. Meanwhile for the longest time the larger cities/towns didn't really seem to be offering much, unless they had specialty shops I didn't know about. But logically yeah, you'd think it'd be the larger towns/cities with these places.

A lot of the ones closest to me will spring up every few years, then close every few years =p

While we lose game shops here overall we have more game shops now than we did 10 years ago. Game shops have some risk attached to them so, obviously some will not succeed no matter what.

I also assume larger cities do better because more people, sure some small town might have a thriving game store but I'm sure if I went to 50 small towns 98% of them probably wouldn't even have one.

Now that PO mentions it, I think the last few dedicated hobby shops -- minus comic shops and less geeky hobby shops -- in my area (using a pretty wide radius here) are gone now, too, since a few closed within just the last 4 or 5 years. Now, I still have comic shops, but they no longer run tourneys of any kind afaik... although I guess it's worth noting that there's a locally owned video game store that isn't too far away that's been branching out into other shit and may someday get into CCGs as well. That and actually there might be another place or two, but I think they're more wargaming.

That said, I'm not sure that the physical MtG will ever really die simply because people like the actual cards. And I'm sure even now there's a reasonable amount of local play, since apparently there's an underground geek culture in my area. (And one of these days I'll have to really bust out a shovel and look for it... or just ask one of the D&D guys what's up.) And, like PO mentioned, there's a LOT of offline play. Most MtG players aren't tourney-goers anyway so the loss of centralized locations doesn't necessarily have as big of an impact as people might expect (although it's still a loss for more casual players who wanted to try a tourney)

Well like all this stuff based on your local area your mileage will vary, some cities have a very robust MTG scene and others don't. Obviously smaller towns usually have nothing of an MTG scene, so those that live in some 10k or less person town probably struggle to even find 1-2 people to play with locally.

My area has a ton of game shops and more spring up every 2ish years. So I am pretty lucky to live in this area.

I also will point out that they can do any number of methods to get more people in stores, with special promos you can get in Arena if you show up and play in an FNM event. While they are likely to want people to play Arena their ideal is to have people invested in both so they spend more money.

You "need" a gamestore to run prereleases, and sanctioned events (mostly friday night magic).

By moving things digitally, and heavily promoting magic arena, surprise, friday night magic isn't as emphasized, but, paper prereleases probably are still happening.

I still can play magic by going to a friends house and jamming some EDH games, and then playing The Crew, or whatever.

I mean paper tournaments really aren't happening because of Covid-19, Arena might hurt RL tournaments a bit but there are still plenty of areas where you can find plenty of RL tournaments assuming a pandemic isn't going on.

In my area no store is doing RL tournaments right now the risk of Covid-19 is too high. Blaming Arena for the death of paper magic is a joke, especially when we are seeing a ton of older cards spike in value over the past year or so. Crap some are playing Commander in paper using computers and a camera to stream each of their decks and play area.

Eh, art is expensive, and high quality art is expensive as well, plus you factor in rights and promotional things, it can add up. But, my point is that the amount of money they spend on art is really good, they have a lot of money on art that sometimes they just sit on that isn't used because the card didn't work out, or whatever.
But in terms of a company, that's nothing and not a big deal for what they're producing.

Remember reprints don't cost money for art, and a decent amount of cards are reprints (which are good from a game design perspective, bla bla bla).

Wizards for the past 20ish years have bought the art outright, in earlier sets they did have a pay per use thing, thus why some older arts are rarely reused. Now they tell their artists we will give you this larger payment once but we can then reuse that art anywhere we please.

Anyways they have put out financial records and for Hasbro who owns WotC that makes MTG, MTG is their most profitable franchise ever when you factor in money spent vs. money returned. Transformers makes more total money but it has a higher cost ratio to get that money.

I mean keep in mind MTG has a weird loop hole for this stuff, Planeswalkers can travel to other planes and realities. So technically they could go to Middle-Earth or a Warhammer 40k universe.

It's partly why so many weird places have been visited by MTG in the past.

Now one thing they have never done in the game is put modern technology into it, so I will be curious how they handle Warhammer 40k since it makes our 2021 technology level look ancient in comparison.

Also if you want someone to paint your figures that $300-400 is nothing, since it's quite expensive to get the miniatures all looking nice.

I mean part of it might be frustration and trying any method to get a response, girls especially attractive looking ones can get like 40-50 messages a week.

Meanwhile a guy could send out 20-30 messages over a 3 day period and get 0 replies often, even if they have a reasonable opening line. Dating sites favor the women by a large portion, the numbers back this up big time. I guess some of the less attractive women might get far fewer messages, but that makes sense.

So in some cases guys will try more off the wall shit just to see if it works, guys have to be far more creative with their messages to get even 1 response in a lot of cases.

Monopoman

Right these cheap keys come down to how vigilante Microsoft is in rooting them out. If they bought them with a stolen credit card which eventually gets charged back if Microsoft cares they will flag all those keys. If you are lucky you might have a key work for 5+ years, unlucky and it might not even last a year.

Anyways having an unregistered copy of Windows 10 isn't a huge deal. The only things that happen while a copy is not "activated" is a watermark at the bottom of the screen warns you to Activate Windows, and you have to use an alternate method to change the desktop background.

I will say pushing these gray market websites up do hurt the companies that have the actual products though, if they buy 100 keys with a stolen credit card and then that gets charged back they end up losing more money than if someone just stole Windows 10 for nothing. Heavy charge backs do cause problems overall, and it can end up being a major hassle for a company. Now in the case of Microsoft they might not end up caring as much but a smaller company it can be a huge deal.

I think part of that was an intentional decision, Rockstar has yet to make another game with the depth of GTA San Andreas. They have games where you can do a lot of stuff like Red Dead 2 or GTA V, and both have online modes for even more things to do. But they both lack the depth of San Andreas.

I mean it's even more glaring that is their choice when they take a fuck ton of time to release one game. It's not like they are churning out new GTA games every 2 years.

I mean, if memory serves it was a pretty bold undertaking for it's day. While it may have cut some of the more in-depth features of San Andreas it had a huge expansive world, which was more rare back then. Now in retrospect it doesn't come off as great, because huge open worlds are a dime a dozen but back then it was a big deal.

I also think at the time a more serious take was a new look for GTA, and that was also given props. Anyways I can't recall any GTA main game in the series getting less than a 9 out of 10 average since GTA III. Critics adore the series and the lowest score you will ever see for a main line entry is an 8 out of 10 from a critic.

After getting to "is it legal to eat" Google suggested a bunch of exotic animals like turtles, penguins, kangaroo and dolphins, but also lists something as mundane as horse... Why would people wonder that, if I can just get it from every supermarket I know of. It is not some rare meat that is "naughty" to get or something, it is literally all around...

Because no one eats live animals really, for a good chunk of animals eating them raw is actually dangerous and you can get very sick. Very few animals can be safely consumed when alive.

Other animals have different digestion systems and thus why they thrive on live or raw meat. I also think most live animals would resist trying to be eaten, if you have a wolf let's say fully alive and you put him on a plate the second you try to cut into the meat he would freak out and fight back. Even in the world of animals, they usually kill the animal before eating it.
