Yeah. When he thinks taking over the TVA would mean the greatest power in the universe.

Not when it means you have to keep the pure timeline going and do nothing.

He could change the 'prime timeline' any way he wanted. This was literally offered to him several times. He just needed to prune it so there was only one.

And I would understand that IF it was in service to a really good plot or twist or scene

But it wasn't. People were doing things that made no sense for no reason to push a plot that made no sense and was boring.

Why did Thor stop firing lighting at the Battle of New York when it was super effective? Well because they wanted to do a cool action scene. Fine.

There's a scene in Star Trek The Next Generation where a child runs in front of a Klingon. The Klingon picks him up menacingly. Security all go nuts, then the Klingon harmlessly puts him down and they're like "OMG u thought a Klingon would hurt an innocent child!? WE're an honorable warrior race"..... Well then why the fuck did you pick him up aggressively in the first place? Well so they could establish the ground rules of how Klingon honor works and give the villain some nuance.

Well it makes no sense but it was to make a plot point.

You can suspend disbelief for a story no problem but when the character actions AND plot AND scenes all go no where. That excuse runs out. You're suspending disbelief to suspend disbelief just to watch boring dull unrelatable crap that doesn't draw emotions out of you.

People dodged the question but I don't think anyone would have given a crap if Judge Lady died. No one cared because her character and plot went no where

So which scenes in Loki did the characters make decisions that made no sense? Your example is a...scene from Star Trek? Okay?

Judge Lady was an antagonist. I don't think you were supposed to care if she died. But her plot specifically has a cliffhanger because there's season 2. It's not finished. This is a TV show not a movie.

Well Tony Stark became Peter's father figure after a small number of interactions.

With stuff like this you just have to roll with the fact that extreme circumstances bring people closer together quicker.

Besides Unfair is specifically focusing on the line "After everything we've been through together"

In a couple of days they survived two apocalypses together and took down the TVA. They did go through a lot in a short period. It wasn't enough to keep them loyal to each other anyway.

UnfairRepresent posted...
Neither of those are arcs. Loki not really wanting power or to be in charge was established in Episode 1 (and Thor 2/3/Infinity War etc)

He had no power in episode 1. He even specifically says later on in the series that he intends to take over the TVA to Sylvie.

This Loki never went through those movies events.

UnfairRepresent posted...
hell the fact you call "Loki betrayed...." as the end of a character arc kinda says it all. There was no logic or reason or sense behind the drama. Both characters only did stuff because the plot willed it and the plot was dumb.

What don't you understand about their logic in the final episode?

The problem with discussing you with any of this stuff it's always the same routine.

"None of this stuff mattered or happened"
"Yes it did. Here was when those things happened"
"Those don't count."

I don't get how either Loki had an arc. Loki didn't act like Loki, FemLoki acted wildly different in every single episode and their drama of "y dun u trust me bby ;_;" to someone you've known for 2 days who hates you is fucking dumb drama.

Loki gave up the opportunity for supreme power because he believed the possibility that there would be consequences to their actions. Something he usually isn't concerned with. His goal in the show overall was to take over the TVA and he gave up that opportunity when presented to him because he cared about Sylvie and others.

Sylvie sacrificed her relationship with Loki to get the revenge she wanted for the entire show and didn't care about the consequences that would happen due to it. Which leads to He Who Remains variants being unleashed on the multiverse.

Both of these characters will have to deal with the consequences of their actions in season 2.

Both of these are the arcs that were built up over the season. Not really sure how you missed them.

I don't think it's a masterpiece either but some of your complaints don't make sense.

Kang isn't important because the multiverse is a threat either way is nonsensical. That's like saying Thanos doesn't matter because Tony knew a threat was coming from space in The Avengers.

Saying there was no drama during the exposition dump when Loki and Sylvie betray each other to complete their respectable character arcs is nonsensical. It's just ignoring major developments that happened in the show to twist it into the complaint you want.

I don't get why that's dramatically different or more interesting then what was already established. Which was effectively the same thing.

It wasn't effectively the same thing because the variants were victims of circumstances out of their control. Now we have several different versions of the same time travelling bad guy about to cause havoc across their timelines. The show specifically ends with Loki stuck in a TVA run by the Conqueror.

There's a difference between the multiverse opening up and simply causing issues with timelines and the specific issue of a villain who has the primary goal of conquering and destroying the other timelines to defeat variants of himself.

Also, IIRC you save during battles to save scum victories, if you so choose.

I do but even then sometimes I think it's better to just redeploy completely.

Like I'm on the desert mission now. It says I should deploy a couple of snipers. So I deploy one in each group. Turns out the group of two are on a ledge so they meant to deploy them there specifically. Then I found out that area is vulnerable to two other snipers and I should spend my first turn making sure they're both dead. Since doing that it seems fine though but all of that felt a bit trial and error.

I don't think he's lying in the sense that other Kang's are gonna be invading their timeline.

Sir Will posted...
Sure. But he thinks if he doesn't do this then no timeline would survive. Of course the logic behind these timelines is fuzzy as hell.

I think the biggest risk is someone like Kang the Conqueror constantly invading other timelines and taking over. Who probably thinks his method is the right solution too.

But really I think the solution is going to end up letting the multiverse survive and stop The One Who Remains from starting the cycle again.

He doesn't care about dying because he believes that eventually he'll end up winning in the long run again anyway and the prime timeline version of him will eventually reset everything back to the prime timeline. We follow the prime timeline where Loki is killed by Thanos. Nothing will impact that timeline until after Endgame.

The Loki in the TV show was from a timeline that was pruned. He is completely removed from impacting the main timeline. The decision at the end has nothing to do with 2012. You can even presume without the TVA pruning anything there is now a new timeline where Loki escaped with the cosmic cube and doesn't get taken by the TVA. But that's still going to be a different Loki.

I'm playing through both FFVII Remake and FFVIII atm.

I'm doing the mission in FFVII Remake with Avalanche to get the explosive material in the factory. Holy shit this game is blowing me away so far. Looks amazing. Combat is fun. All of the characters are written well and are very charming. The pacing thus far is perfect.

FFVIII is a unique experience. Kinda weird how obtuse the system is. I'm understanding it a bit more now. Only now have figured out it's best to train GL's into learning the abilities to alter items into magic asap. Done a couple now. Then from there I guess I then choose to open up more stats to junction and before I know it I'm OP. Haven't quite got into the flow of it but I'm getting closer. The story is interesting but Squall kind of seems like too much of an asshole so far? Telling his instructor to talk to a wall after she opens up that she's basically being fired is one of the douchiest things I've seen from any video game protagonist. Was like a renegade option in Mass Effect.

Also the universal theme across both games so far is that every girl wants to fuck Cloud/Squall who don't care at all.

You also get paid more if you work after 6pm or on public holidays.

If you're on a full time or permanent contract you also accrue annual and sick leave
