It's a soft reboot anyways. They're just going to kind of never ever mention it again kinda like Abomination in the MCU but it still happened.

Abomination was supposed to be in Age of Ultron.

They should have included him. It might've made the film more interesting.

It looks good, but I don't want to see it because I'm sick of immediate reboots. Film franchises aren't video games for which you can hit the reset button and start over again if you die on the first stage.

The first movie didn't do any irreparable harm to DC continuity, so why is a reboot needed?

The main reason for voting him was to get children out of cages. But the detainment units are plastic now, so I guess they have a better view. Yeah, I know it's Trump who's responsible and fuck him for it. (I voted against him twice.) But getting them out of there should literally be top priority. We can fix roads, shake hands, and give speeches later. Get the kids out of the damned cages already.

The term "tits" has appeared in children's literature before.

I forget the name of the book, but I remember it from a story I read when I was in school. There was a twelve year old boy who had a crush on a redhead girl with freckles. At one point in the story, she leans over and he stares down her shirt. He then boasts to his friends, "She even has freckles on her tits."

The woman who wrote that book did a really good job of capturing what it was like to be a twelve year old boy. Both in terms of the budding sexuality / curiosity and in terms of the way that young boys will make "accomplishments" sound greater through omission of details. Out of context, he made it sound like he was able to get her with her clothes off. In context, he's just an opportunist staring down someone's shirt.

I have a soft spot for Ikiru as well. Not an action or samurai film but rather a film about a dying low-level bureaucrat who see's that his life was wasted pushing pencils and decides to build a public park as his last endeavor. Stars Takashi Shimura who was the 2nd main actor behind Mifune that Kurosawa would cast. Love this movie.

It's great that Takashi Shimura was able to play a dying old man... and then went on to play the leader of a group of samurai. That's flexibility.

(He was also in Godzilla.)

It's okay to cut them out of their moment of glory so long as the camera doesn't linger on their bodies.

I actually dislike that Mario is canonically 25. I feel he should be AT LEAST 30, but ideally 33-37.

You don't get facial hair like that at 25.

It's probably for the best though. Otherwise, people would complain about the age difference between Mario and Peach.

It's pretty nonsensical. There isn't a lot going on until near the end of the movie and, even then, it feels really disjointed.

Yeah, I'm sorry. Season of the Witch doesn't need a re-evaluation. It's boring when taken as its own movie.

It has a few good performances, and one truly memorable scene, but it had problems on a story level and the direction could've been better. The robots were more silly than scary.

She was playing a character. I bet the real Anita is pretty chill.

In her first few episodes, she had her hair down, brought up some legitimate issues with regards to inequality, and peppered her videos with some comedy. Then she adopted the flannel outfit, started speaking in an authoritarian voice, and brought up intentionally bad examples to troll people.

She's like a lot of people who speak on sensitive subject matters: they galvanize their side by offending people on the other side. It's the same method employed, to varying degree, by the likes of Richard Dawkins, Michael Moore, and the late but unlamented Rush Limbaugh.

That whrrrrr whrrrrr sound effect needs to be banned from trailers.

I would say Jurassic Park > Fallen Kingdom > Jurassic World > Lost World > JPIII

Part of the appeal of dinosaurs is variety. Only the first and most recent films get that. Lost World is all about the Tyrannosaurus Rex. JPIII is all about Spinosaurus. Jurassic World is all about the Indominous Rex. The rest of the dinosaurs are just cameos in those movies.

While I'm saddened by the loss of Pepe Le Pew, I don't want to see him become a rightwing talking point.
