Thing is though I live in a right-to-work state, meaning you can be fired at any time for no reason at all. So you really don't complain if you want your job, and owners just lie about what happened. The owner was standing right there watching the transaction and knew the lady had a history of bad checks, which I wasn't aware of. When they came out the girl seemed a bit ashamed of the whole thing, which I totally made worse by asking if I could possibly have a turn. It wasn't completely out of the blue she and I had been cool since she started there. But I went too far, and did what I had to do, completely denied it when the owner asked about it.
