Im sorry TC. That sort of news is so rough to hear. But if she still has a functional ovary it should still be possible just more difficult. My mom had 1 ovary after losing one to an ectopic pregnancy and was still able to have 3 kids after, without any medical intervention. There are still other methods like IVF and IUI. A friend of mine has diminishing eggs already at 30 and got pregnant with IUI. Maybe it might be beneficial for her to see a fertility specialist to understand her options and odds?

I don't give af that you do, it just seems like such a repressed hangup to have, kinda like guys who think periods are disgusting, and especially for someone who's had a child as a lot of pregnant women I know were super farty. Seems longer because your coworker analogy makes no sense as the two have nothing to do with each other unless you view your partner as a coworker. You say it's been fine for 10 years but I'd say there's a good chance he makes fun of it with his friends.

And my last point isn't really hyperbolic. In sickness and in health, right? If something as natural as farting is too gross, what happens in the event one of you literally can't wipe your own ass? It can be a reality.
Lmao you are so butthurt that I think its disrespectful. I never said gross. Never farted in front of my husband while pregnant and it wasnt hard not to do. Ive already said barring medical issues too, so that addresses old age and such. Id have no issue wiping his ass if I had to. After my c section I was bed ridden and I farted plenty in front of him. It wasnt a big deal, it was understood that it wasnt something I could control at that time.

If you can control it at work its not hard to control it around your SO, that is my point. I value my husband far more than coworkers. My husband doesnt fart in front of me either. Hasnt been a problem in nearly 11 years. Its not something weve had any discussion about at all, or some rule I laid out, we just mutually respect each other and just dont do it. I never told him he couldnt or that Id have an issue if he did. He just sees it the same way I do. Its not hard bruh. Not sure why this strikes such a nerve for you lol

Well, I don't want to generally spend much time with my coworkers outside of work, nor do we share many interests, nor do I sleep in the same bed as them, nor do I want to lick their genitals. We act a particular way to stay employed and make money. So how most of us act around coworkers has very little to do with how we act at home.

Holding in farts can cause gastrointestinal distress, so I would think just being natural and farting would be more respectful. Like, I don't want to smell farts, but thinking she should leave the room seems absolutely ridiculous.

Like, you had his baby and farting is still a gross thing? What happens when you're both 85 and one of you had to wipe the other's ass?
Lol I dont know why you care this much. You do you. It hasnt been an issue for us in over 10 years. Were respectful of each other and it just hasnt been difficult to do. To each their own

Its definitely nice not to have to commute or spend a good while doing my hair and makeup. But I do miss interacting with coworkers in person and just chilling in the kitchen or grabbing lunch with people. Its also been more difficult to onboard new people entirely virtually. Wed normally pair them with someone so they can shadow them and ask questions, etc. But doing it virtually is much more difficult and taxing because the new people are taking much longer to learn and bombarding us with tons of questions.

They used me against each other. I was 12 and watching cartoons. They had recently separated. My dad came by to grab me and drove me in silence to a bar. I had no clue what was going on. He walked me to a large glass window where you can see inside and pointed to my mom at a slot machine. Told me about her gambling addiction and how much money she lost. My mom saw us and came storming out to scream at him and tell me about how he cheated. Then my dad dropped me off back home like nothing happened.

I was also physically and verbally abused a lot but I was older. As a child, I think this scarred me the most.

I actually attended that Blizzcon and was in the audience when they announced Diablo Immortal. The silence was deafening. Im not a huge Diablo fan so I didnt care but you could tell people had their hopes up for a D4 announcement. I think if they announced the mobile game but gave people a teaser about D4, even if just a title on a blank screen, it would have been received much differently. However the lack of foresight there just means that the developers are that much out of touch of their player base.

Activisions influence has been more and more obvious. Used to be that the developers really cared about making a game fun for players but now its all about the stakeholder earnings calls.

This question is really just asking for a high level summary of your work experience. Try to keep it concise and relevant to the job.

You got a lot of great tips. STAR format is also what I suggest to my candidates. Also make a list for yourself of things like challenges youve solved, conflict and resolution, things that you failed at and how you went about learning from the experience, big wins, etc. That way you have examples when asked. Ah, got it. Yeah, that makes sense.

Its a hard decision for sure. Ive been at my place for a bit over 6 years, and in the past 2 years Ive turned down 2 offers to move elsewhere. One of those was hard since a friend had referred me. I dont regret the decisions Ive made to stay, but I love my boss and wouldnt say its a shitshow.

It might seem silly, but Ive found it helps me to write out (or type out) a pros and cons list for staying or leaving your current job. See it all actually laid out, and then go with that and your gut.

In general, Im all about moving around and trying out new opportunities as I think that ultimately will elevate your career faster, get you more money (since companies pay new hires better than current employees, like, all the time), and give you more experience. Its just that in my case, the offers to leave were never stellar enough to get me to leave.

As long as you arent burning any bridges, Im sure you can amicably leave your current place. If things werent to work out at the new place, you never know. The door could be open to maybe come back to your old place? Its all just business after all, nothing personal.
Yeah I should make a list. I do flip flop a lot. One thing that makes me want to leave was they put this promo last Friday and its been in effect since Monday. But they didnt bother to call me and say anything. I just saw an email about it. I just got something from the system that it went through.

...if you don't need the car now though, I'd say wait. Like you said, I'd expect the next couple years to have really good improvement both in the model Y future revisions, and from other manufacturers
Yeah I mostly just want a nice looking car with solid safety features to drive our baby in and feel comfortable. So for safety my husband said we should hold out for now and just lease for a few years then buy a Tesla after when theyve improved them.

If you don't like the job for more reasons than your ex boss then take the new job.

If your frustrations are primarily around how they delayed the promotion until after your returned from maturity. Give it a year, at worst you'll have the year of experience at the management level.

My limited understanding of you is you're doing all right financially, and while more money is nice, I've left plenty of money to stay at a place I'm comfortable at. Maybe the new place is better and better pay, or maybe it's even shittier and that's why they need to pay more.

Of course if I'm wrong and the extra money takes you from uncomfortable to comfortable income. Follow the money.
Yeah Im conflicted for sure. Ive always loved my job and the company before the merger. But after things have changed and even though I have great relationships with a lot of people there, our jobs have become more difficult to do and upper management have been ignoring things. Like people are mass quitting and these folks are patting themselves on the backs in meetings and talking about how great everything is going. I just have to decide if I put up with it for another year or two for the management experience, or take a 20-30k pay increase and postpone management experience for a little while longer.

CE_gonna_CE posted...
Congrats! Sounds like you cant go wrong with either option, so thats a good thing.

If you take the other position and give notice to your current company, do you think they will sweeten the pot any more? You just have to go with your gut on all this, and if you feel like moving might be the way to go then I would say do that and get out of the shitshow. But if you think you can squeeze more money out of the shitshow by showing them that you are ready to take that other hard offer, it might be worthwhile and lucrative to stay and see if they are willing to play hardball.
Thanks! Im not in the best position to negotiate while on maternity leave. I believe Im still protected if I have another offer but I worry I might jeopardize my leave if I have that conversation. I dont trust management. So I have to decide to accept this new offer now or not. My plan is to give my current employer notice 2 weeks before Im to return

Now they are worried I wont come back and want to do me right according to my former manager. I say former because she quit a few weeks back. Along with that majority of the team. Since I left in March, 6 people on my team quit (we were 10 when I left). So I guess theyre sweating now. I have good relationship with some of the engineering execs who have expressed concern for me and have been pushing things as well.

I got a 15k bump in base pay, will get more bonus and am at an associate manager level where I would have a small team to manage when I return from mat leave. It sucks because I wanted to get into management for a while. I have another offer for a lot more money though Id have to start over in career progression. Its the same in Canada, my mom told me about it a little while ago. The worst for me was spending 8-12 hours at the ER whenever I had a very debilitating migraine. Im talking extreme nausea and head splitting pain, waiting in a cold ass hallway because there were no available rooms, with no nurses ever checking on me. No food or water, would somehow need to track down a nurse if I could find one to get any water, which was hard to do in that much pain. And blaring lights that made shit so much worse.

Here Ive just gone to urgent care and they make sure Im in a nice comfy dark room. In and out in about an hour. Amazing nurses and care, $50-100 copay with insurance. They often give you a warmed up blanket too.

My hospital stay for giving birth was like a hotel experience with my own suite and only $1500 with insurance
