It is a bit ironic that a line denouncing luck would appear in the first Star Wars movie. Theirs is a success which can only be achieved through luck. No amount of talent, marketing, or strategy could ever insure that measure of success. To quote Mark Hamill, they "caught lightning in a bottle."

Star Wars, amended in re-releases to A New Hope, came about during a crossroads in which science fiction cinema was starting to see validation for more than Frankenstein and space invader stories and when toys were becoming more complex. There were other good science fiction movies of the era, such as Westworld and Logan's Run, but none were so merchandise-friendly.

If any one piece of the puzzle had been removed. If Darth Vader had been some generic bald dude with a cape, if Han Solo hadn't been part of the team, if the Death Star had been a cube instead of a sphere, maybe we wouldn't be talking about Star Wars today except in passing mention of 70s cult movies.

The book the movies were based off suggested that she was straight up a demon made flesh or the devil himself, can't remember which.

Also she wasn't old in the book, she was in her 20s, and had a husband.

I never said Democrats were a cult. I never said the problems in the left-leaning party were equal to the problems in the right-leaning party. I merely stated that the left has a problem with people trying to shush any sort of criticism.

I don't believe I mentioned Biden by name. Nor did I say that everyone on the left was ready to accuse someone for the slightest criticism.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is great but it's impossible. I mean it's really fucking impossible so what do we do with it?

The instruction manual even admits that it's not possible to beat the game if you start from the last save point. The only way to beat the final boss is if you start 12 levels back from the end of the game. And even then you just barely have enough to stop him.

I'd seen their expressions before. I don't think I ever made a correlation with waiting a certain length of time. In any event, Big Boo has a considerably longer wait.

I had no idea Big Boo would do this. You have to stare at him for 16 seconds. As soon as I read it, I plugged in my SNES, started a new Super Mario World file, and fought my way to the first Ghost House just to confirm it.

It's like discovering something new in a movie you've seen dozens of times.

There are a few who go off-script. Barack Obama I believe was a man of character. For the most part, they tow the line. They talk a good one, but they're as much about capitalism as Republicans.
