How's rerolling for this game? Is it pretty bad?

It's one of the more painful reroll processes because the tutorial is kind of long and you have to delete your games data to reset. So even with auto run enabled you're looking at probably 2 minutes per attempt, and you'll have to pay attention so you can skip cutscenes, and it's about 200 MB of content to download each try.

It's going to be easier now than later though. Right now the pre-reg bonuses get you a 10 roll right out of the tutorial by collecting your gift box. Without them you would probably have to play through most of chapter one to get the rewards you need to even give it a shot.

Get it just for game pass. Half the stuff you would want to get on the console is coming out for free on day one on Game pass anyway, so you can legitimately just play a steady stream of triple A titles and not pay a dime above the subscription.

Yeah I actually do appreciate how that game and Death Stranding used open worlds as part of their design.

But yeah I think about how tough it is to actually tell an epic narrative in an open world. Dragon Age Origins as another example. You see the map gradually getting blotted out by the Darkspawn. Can't really show off something like that in an open world game.

Oblivion kind of does this, but the problem is once it does it still can't railroad you into the story. So you go a few hours and then suddenly there are Oblivion gates everywhere and you actually get a sense of urgency and doom... for a moment before you go back to spending 60 hours on pointless side quests.

I guess technically, unless he had formally renounced citizenship in his home country or been legally declared dead. Then I guess he would technically fall outside of that jurisdiction, and in the latter case I guess only until his death certificate had been revoked.

It's painfully obvious that you've got this idea in your head about what the show is supposed to be and it was never anything more than nostalgia that existed in your head. It was a fantasy you cooked up. A better time that never actually existed. Fanfic. Headcanon. All to make yourself feel smarter for having figured out the lore and themes of a fucking commercial.

Something about this version of the franchise bothered you, and I'm putting dollars to donuts it's not respect for the lore.

Just stop. The show was marketed as a sequel to the original cartoon. It exists in the same continuity. The Adam in this show is the Adam from the old show, so if his character is different that's a flaw in the writing. Stop trying to twist a basic fact about the show into some weird personal interpretation so that you can hand wave it away.

Show me the old show's Adam. I'm largely going off my memory of him. I seem to recall the show largely paying very little attention to Adam as a separate character but I might be misremembering.

It's not all that's important, but it would be a valid criticism from people who were disappointed by this adaptation if they grew up with the original and for a show that markets itself as a direct sequel to it. It doesn't have to be an all or nothing proposition, and nobody gains anything by trying to frame it that way. The show having legitimate flaws does not make you "wrong" for enjoying it.

I'll see if I can find any examples of Adam himself doing something in the old cartoon.

You said that's just his interpretation, but apparently your also not saying he's wrong. Adam was forced to pretend to be the lazy screw up to protect his secret. Its like Clark Kent pretending to be clumsy or Bruce Wayne pretending to be a playboy. But Adam was always, at his core, the same heroic character as He-Man. Thats why he was given the sword in the first place. The new show just completely doesnt understand that. Like I said before, the episode where hes in heaven completely undermines his character in every way. Adam never would seek a reward, would never hesitate in giving it up, and would always answer the call of people in trouble. Here, Adam isnt hiding his heroic personality, he straight up doesnt have one. Like I said before, when Grayskull said, this is your reward Adams immediate response should have been, I never did it for a reward. Instead he just sort of wanders through the portal like, oh geez.

Clunker is talking about Adam's character here, not whether he had muscles because he could fight. Adam is Steve Rogers before the supersoldier serum. He was given the sword because of the strength of his convictions and his character.

I think it will work if the dynamic between the kids is similar to the adults in the original. Part of what made Ghostbusters so charming was the fact that it was this ragtag group of losers, true believers, and con artists stumbling through something that was way above their pay grade.

If they did adults again it might have been too tempting to try and recreate that magic, so taking the spirit of what they were and doing it for my kids perspective might just be exactly the secret formula to a good sequel.

The fact that egon's granddaughter seems like a loser outcast kind of gives me hope that that's the direction they're going in. Granted, it's not like that dynamic hasn't been seen before in any number of properties like stranger things, it, or The Goonies, but at least in terms of being a Ghostbusters sequel it might end up being a perfect fit.

The implication is that sometimes studios use nostalgia for free marketing by drawing attention to an old franchise, causing people who have fond memories of that franchise to talk and spread the news out of excitement, only for the studio to pull the rug out from under them and have the property be nothing like the thing they were looking forward to.

I took it in Ghostbusters 2 that the actual ghostbusters had their 15 minutes of fame, and without actual ghosts anymore, they couldnt keep their business going. Did people actually forget about the events of 1984 in the sequel?

Honestly, I wouldn't think too hard about it. The second movie was basically just a retread of the first, so they had some throw away line about people forgetting so they could redo the whole nobody trusts/believes them thing. It's not something worth lingering on, because it's not like the writing for the second movie took itself so seriously to be concerned with things like that.

Theres an entirely different He-Man show coming to Netflix thats aimed at kids and bringing in a new audience.
