| pure_temper 07/10/21 1:29:34 AM #65 | i've never really known anyone who when putting serious pen to paper really thinks or operates as if socialism should be the norm anywhere lmao. most people think about it in terms of what kinds of technologies or products could exist to solve what kinds of problems and what are the best ways to fund that. and what kinds of commercial strategies could exist to justify people crowd sourcing more innovation with economic movement. sooner or later we'll be able to automate a lot more types of labor with Boston Dynamics and Amazon Wholefoods and other corporate type stuff until people get bored of doing rote tasks and automating basically everything. then it'll just be about art and music and exploring nature and etc. i'm optimistic we'll see it in our lifetime because of necessity and people getting bored w/ working this last year because of covid. more people will probably go back to school if they quit (most workers have considered quitting and i'd bet schools are offering more attractive rates lately), training up for less repetitive tasks and more theoretical knowledge of math and science and etc. if we don't let the media dumb people down some more, that is. the media isn't your friend toothbrush --- It's obvious all religions are fundamentally true. |

| pure_temper 07/10/21 1:02:35 AM #59 | capitalism is the best model we've found so far. it can work at planetary scale with better tech including tech we are already starting to have. since it's voluntary in how markets spread to new customers, it's sustainable as long as we can expand how many resources we have access to. my parents and grandparents worked on socialized farms in one of the soviet union territories. lol at anyone clamoring for that again. products and services and demand for these things and smart stimulus by governments really does improve the world and we call that capitalism in a growing part of the modern world. it will never go away until technology makes Star Trek possible, probably in the 2040s i'd guess, 2042 if the estimates of the singularity happening that year are true. --- It's obvious all religions are fundamentally true. |
