I managed to get a PS5 finally! Very lucky, they're still not up for sale anywhere.

I didn't know it came with Astro's Playroom pre-installed and I had no idea what that game actually was, but it was an incredibly nice 3-4 hour ride of fanservice. I really liked it.

I have Rift Apart as it came with the console and I ordered FFVIIR Intergrade right away so I can play the new DLC.

There's no way Infinite can put MC above Kratos (also no way that it'll be more popular here than the next God of War imo).

I somehow missed everything about it when it came out, other than that I knew the name. I didn't know it was preinstalled or anything about what it was, but I loved it. Correct way to do fanservice. Felt like Nintendo gave Sony an idea. I recognized most but not all references in the game.

Came with Rift Apart, but I think I'll play the 2016 on my PS5 first, which I've owned for a while, but never played. Also ordered FFVIIR Intergrade so I can finally play the Yuffie DLC, it should arrive Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Danish commentators (main channel isn't showing this, we have better) are simultaneously saying England is indescribably impressive by winning 4-0 in a quarter final while also saying Ukraine is a horrible team that doesn't deserve here and this is their worst performance on top of that. I don't quite think it can be both.

Ukraine's falling apart, that was a third goal of the exact same kind they failed to cover.

It has come to my attention that perhaps it's Danish media outlets that are annoying about England. The commentators are clearly cheering for them, which is fine, though don't be this blatant about it, but they also just trash talked Ukraine from before the match begun, outright saying they didn't belong in the top 8 at all, as if they never played well. That's annoying.

Contrats to England though! Definitely favorites against us, but they should not underestimate us. We put four against a much better looking Wales.

This probably doesn't end at 4 though.

Ukraine is surprisingly bad at dealing with headers right now.

Glad to see England do more. Ukraine looked quite unimpressive though, they're very inconsistent. They played much better against Sweden, then they played great one half of their Netherlands match, one part of their Macedonia match, awful in the other halfs.

The top 8 consists of:
  • 3 group winners
  • 2 group runner ups
  • 3 third places
While the missing third places was the previous champions, and one of them, Ukraine, is the only team left from their group. That feels pretty crazy and shows the glaring holes in this format because the group games matter so much less than they should.

I'm surprised that's a red card. The injury looks horrible, but what could he have done, he hit the ball as intended.

I definitely don't disagree that England has the squad potential that's the highest now that France is out (it was debatable between those two before). They just consistently look like they're not really the team they should be, even if it's starting to look a little bit better, and despite not letting any goals past them, it has looked every game like a proper attack could do this.

Not to contradict you but could you give specific links or journalists that have said this, something indicative of "most"? Maybe it's because I don't follow tabloid idiots but most English journalists (and people) have been stung so badly by this kind of thing now that this isn't anywhere near as commonplace as it used to be.

I'd like to rephrase it and be more fair, because I meant fan comments on English media hence why I said fans later in the paragraph and I'll admit some of them might even be Danish, I just got caught up in some of thst before writing here. I don't really follow anything in particular either, so it's just what shows up in my feed. The outlets themselves mostly just want to say it's coming home whenever something goes right is my idea, which is repetitive but completely harmless. I get that I might be talking about a vocal minority, but it's my clear idea that the bottom of English fans is worse than most.

That assist and goal combination was absolutely beautiful, very impressive!!

I'm very happy for England to beat a team they haven't beat in ages but most English media sure try to turn me against them with their arrogance and their belief that Germany was what stood between them and the finals when every side except probably Ukraine and the elimated Wales on this side of the bracket has looked better than Germany overall, and honestly the belief would annoy me regardless. I don't want to let the worst fans decide what I think of a team though, so congratulations England! As said in the previous topic, perfect time to beat a German side. Presumably, Flick will build something up again.

That said, I don't think they've looked as promising as Voltch describes it. It's impressive to have not conceded yet, but let's not get carried away here. For 75 minutes that game looked like Germany's to win. Sterling has been terrible most of the time, but somehow has had three goals to cover it up, Kane has had an awful tournament until a late goal in the fourth match. It looks somewhat shaky and I firmly believe Germany will be their easiest opponent to this side of the bracket even if they had some very big names there.

Germany's shaky most of all. If they play like they did against Portugal, England is in huge trouble, they definitely have the capabilities.

I do agree on not getting rid of Deschamps as of yet, this one is definitely also on some of the players.

Benzema was close to being the top scorer. I suppose Lukaku is the favorite to match it now, though Schick has a good chance of matching it even if we know Czech out.

The early howler aside, Unai Simon has made some crucial saves, that one early in the second half was in particular impressive.

Spain has been completely different in the last two games. Busquets brings so much balance to the team. He might not be the perfect player he used to be, but he sure is still great. Most of the team has been really good, though I'm still very surprised Gerard Moreno isn't playing instead of Morata.

England vs. Germany is nowhere near being a defacto semifinal, you need to not just look on individual players and football history. The other four teams left could all beat both and it wouldn't be a bigger upset than this match.

But continue to underestimate Denmark (and three other teams here) all!
