Went back to work on Easter and spent half the shift trying not to have an anxiety attack. My mind travelled to seventh grade and a lot of missteps and mistakes at being a good friend.

I also wish magic was real, and fantasized over and over that two girls really were witches and would've changed me into a girl when they suggested I couldn't hang out with them because I didn't have the right assets.

I like about half the romances in Stardew. Penny, Abigail, and Leah are the ones I fall in love with, but I'd give Haley, Maru, and Sebastian chances too if it felt right.

That is... a really tough call.

Most of the media I consume tends to be older: games released a decade ago, Turner Classic Movies, I don't listen to much music, and if I'm sitting down to watch something new to me it's usually something I skipped over in the past.

But I also think I've been a lot less stuck than I'd be in the past. I rarely replay or rewatch anything these days, though this definitely counts towards music I'm familiar with which can get looped.

I don't know.

So many good games in here. Loved seeing 428 Shibuya. I need to play that and Trails of Cold Steel II again.

I tried making a top hundred a few weeks ago thanks to the old reminders of 90s PC glory days (hi Gladiator and Lost Mind of Doctor Brain). I'm looking at it now and the sixty fairly ranked, and I can't even agree with "two weeks ago" me on the top five.

I really should get back to trying the list-make, painfully trying to decide which nostalgia ranks in my heart over which, gameplay and innovations surpassing flaws and better successors, and pushing the limits of how many games I xan count as one entry (e.g. I have Sonic Mega Collection at 35 because only Sonic 2 would even come close to that high, and the Genesis cart doesn't have the Archie covers and Sonic CD intro I'd watch on loop).

My other major gripe is along the same lines - Xandar, which probably had the highest defenses for their Infinity Stone, was defeated first. (And off camera!). Is it too much to ask for even a little space battle scene in the biggest movie in the MCU? (Actually, going into Infinity War I was expecting something more along the lines of the Guardians having to break into the vault on Xandar to get the Power Stone out before Thanos could attack the planet.) Those two things and knowing that it was going to end on a cliffhanger just barely knocked Infinity War out of the top 3 for me.

I hope that if we ever get a Nova movie, like, we get this. A Deep Space 9 intro with Wolf-359 where the origin is less how hero gets his powers and more how hero managed to survive and be one of the last Xandarians left.

Oh god. OH GOD!! We get like a full fifteen minute intro of Thanos just wrecking through Xandar like the attack on Hoth and everyone's trying to escape, and a bunch of Xandarians we've been following make it out alive, and it's a good note of success and respite. Then the character wakes up to alarm bells and the ship is about to crash and everyone else we've come to like as a team is just gone. Dusted. He has no idea what happened or why and as far as he knows he's the last of the Nova Corps.

I don't have a clue how the movie would go from there, and I can't think of a good way to do a Richard Rider movie that doesn't feel too close to Superman, Green Lantern, or Captain Marvel.

I could go on forever about this movie and its sequel, but one last thing I want to highlight about this movie is how they brought back the Avengers theme into peoples consciousness. It was composed for The Avengers but was pretty underutilized in it and its sequel, and I know there were people criticizing the unmemorable scores in the MCU. Well, I dont think people are saying that now. While not quite on John Williams level, the theme was used beautifully in these movies and helped to make Thors arrival in Wakanda an unforgettable moment.

I had completely forgotten about that. Oh my god, it was so good. Like... Phoenix Wright Case 3-5 bringing back the first game's objection music.

So theres speculation on the color schemes being the villains. Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, Jsmie Foxx's Electro... who would that Zendaya purple and red be? I can't think of any Spidey villains with that specific color scheme. The closest I can think of are either the purples in Green Goblins or the purples in Kingpin's pants. Maybe Mysterio, but MCU was more green/gold, and Vulture is straight green. Scarlet Witch?

Guardians 2 was the one MCU movie where my initial impression was way more favorable than on rewatch. For whatever reason, I went from slightly preferring it to the original to finding it vastly inferior to the original. Thats not to say I dislike the movie, I actually very much like portions of it. But the jokes didnt seem so funny the second time around and the rough parts stood out more.

I can attest to this. The nitpicks stayed the same as before, but then we got a lot of running jokes that just didn't work. Like the "It's not ripe" gag. It died quickly and just kept getting used.

Someone said previously that Hulk (and General Ross once he came back) went from being Hulk characters to being Avengers characters. I think you could make a similar argument for Thor being changed from a Thor character to a Guardians of the Galaxy character, with Ragnarok getting rid of his setting and most of his supporting cast, and Infinity War finishing off the rest.
