And in some ways it kinda took away from the film Like the death of Superman should be a pretty damn big deal and yet Amy Adams and the whole side plot felt like an afterthought in this, also the epilogue just felt like a way to try to get people to be on board for a part 2 --- I live on, THROUGH THIS SEASHELL! It has plenty of good action scenes, a gripping villain, a good amount of comedy, and stunning visuals and a neat setting for that underground world. I also felt that its themes (Thors power doesnt just come from his hammer like earlier movies suggest, Asgard is its people) were really strong. Its the perfect little MCU package IMO. The other two movies in my top 3 are close, but Winter Soldier felt more like a spy thriller that was super fun but not necessarily a superhero movie and Black Panther is a little more serious in tone compared to other MCU movies, although its music and themes are great --- I live on, THROUGH THIS SEASHELL! I feel like it had some decent elements (the theme that these heroes dont think on a micro scale what happens to civilians, Renner was good) but it felt messy overall, which I guess is worse than forgettable.
