Day 5 (but really 7) -- 43 subscribers

I committed one of the cardinal sins of developing a platform. I broke from the regular upload schedule. Shame on me.

Day 4 I uploaded 4 videos instead of 3, just for experimentation.



Either interest is trending downward or uploading 4 videos is bad for business. Also, I'm a little concerned that there seems to be zero staying power to these videos. A burst of views early as the youtube stuffs it onto the #shorts shelf on mobile, and then nothing after. But my subscriber count is climbing, so that's something.

Did 3 videos before looking at the details. I might stick to one or two tomorrow. Going to stagger the releases of the three today 8 hours apart, though, and see if that does anything.

Kinda curious who was in your party, though. Like, I guess you don't get much exposure to the other three characters you don't pick, but I still had a minor sense that they were the other characters.

Can't really disagree with you. As far as TDS goes, it's pretty basic and has no long term viability. The fact that the towers level outside of the stages rather than during, for additional cost, creates a bunch of complications in the game design.

Not sure when it became available but I finally did Blink of an Eye. Let 2 through on my first wave, and none after that.

I really like Theater Mechanicus, but it's not super well-balanced. I literally just spent 20 minutes standing over the very last-line of defense node with the mine, waiting to replace it in case something got through and set it off. There's not a lot of room for strategy or development. You get all your towers up by the middle of wave 3 and then you wait.

Trying not to make these pictures huge, but I fear I'm losing some of the fidelity.

Day 3 videos: 346+31+343 = 720 views
Day 2 videos (now): 316+4+382 = 702 views
Day 1 videos (now): 20+418+383 = 821 views

The "unused" video was a smidge less dead than before. Otherwise basically identical to day 2. I'm going to try varying the number of uploads today and see what happens. Not much else to say.

Rarely has it affected me directly. If anything, it's the indirect effect of others refusing, condemning, and forcibly boycotting those materials that affects me. For instance, it's much more challenging to find a way to watch The Cosby Show, and if I were to, I would do so knowing that I'd probably be judged for it.

I would have if it weren't removed from the shop right before the end of her banner, when I pulled.

That said, I checked some folks' analysis, and the crescent and the blackcliff aren't too far ahead of the VH unless you factor in their text. With Prototype Crescent, I dismissed it at the time and forgot that the main edge it has is if you're hitting weak points, which pretty much requires using mouse aiming and still isn't always possible. However Blackcliff's effect is based on recent kills, which I imagine is nice, but not something I necessarily want to rely on. Maybe I'm still new to Ganyu, but I'm extremely uncomfortable using her to fight a group. Hilichurls that are all charging from their camp in one direction is one thing, but being surrounded in a domain or abyss is another, and that's just about the only time it would come into play.

I do like VH. I'm a pretty big fan. The "mini Venti" isn't something to rely on, but it can be very handy, particularly for holding enemies in place. I just know other people are hitting much bigger numbers and I don't feel as if my gear is especially lacking, so it must be the weapon. All three of the 4-stars in question are 30-35% behind an R1 Amos Bow, though, according to IWinToLose.

Blah. 5-star weapons are just not something I'm working towards.

I feel like we might have asked this in the last thread, but out of curiosity, what's everyone's 5-star breakdown -- characters vs weapons? I've got (besides Traveler) 7 characters and 3 weapons, one of which is a dupe. So in practice, only 2 weapons.

I heard Tectone especially got screwed. I mostly use Diluc, so Gravestone seems like what I'd prefer, but I also have Skyward Pride x2, so not exactly high priority.

In other news, I'm revisiting my bow situation.

Bows I have:
Stringless
Viridescent Hunt (x2)
Rust
Favonius
Sacrificial

Archers I need to equip:
Ganyu
Fischl
Childe
Diona

Prior to Ganyu, I had VH on Childe and really liked him with it, but in lieu of better options, I gave that to her and leveled Rust for Childe. Stringless is on Fischl, Diona gets an ER bow.

However, I have four bow prototypes. I was trying to avoid leveling another four-star bow, but I feel like my Ganyu doesn't keep up with other people's Ganyus. (She more than keeps up with my other characters.) How good is Crescent really? Should I be switching things up?

edit: Oh right, I forgot. The reason people like crescent is because of hitting weak spots. Never mind.

Day 2 (22 subscribers):


Day 2 videos above day 1 videos.

So day 1's videos have seen virtually no additional views. Ironically the overlooked video saw the biggest increase at 6.

Day 2's videos are split between a video that saw all its views across 2 hours, a video that saw them gradually throughout the day, and one that literally only got 2 hits all day. I'm wondering if releasing more videos or less would be better. I had already recorded and published three new ones for today, though.

I'm not much of an expert at reading the analytics on youtube so if anyone knows something I should be looking at to glean additional feedback, I'm all ears, but basically day 2 looks like a literal repeat of day 1, albeit a smidge less effective at only ~700 views rather than 800, and only +7 subscribers rather than +15. Spiff's video implied that when he did this, day 2 shot off like a rocket, so obviously I didn't have that experience. I'm curious if he did something different, or if uploaders are just catching up to the platform, or if there are other variables at work. But even if this isn't what I had hoped, it's hard to be disappointed with 1500 views over 2 days.

I mean, yeah, kinda figured. Dude was a freak athlete, especially before prison. My point was that I wasn't aware that digital Michael Vick was so renowned that he'd outshine his real world's counterpart by enough to make it into a contest like this with a non-bottom seed and get a third of the vote. But since I'm usually annoyed AF when people crap on something only because they don't like some single person's association with it, I guess I should be pleased.

As someone who lives near Philadelphia and has never played a Madden game, when I hear Michael Vick, all I can think of is dogfighting controversy. Right or wrong, everyone shit on the Eagles for years (at least in these parts) after they hired him out of prison. Oh, I agree. Before I saw Spiff's analysis on them, another channel I follow was doing them (Legal Eagle) and making decent use, but generally they seem like the most lazy, awful, immediate shots of hey I'mma talk at my phone real quick and make a silly gesture or mebbe do a little dance nahmean?

It's not at all good for what I'm doing, but who knows. Maybe I can turn it into a sort of flash cards-esque help guide.
