The song dropped 3 weeks ago and is about to hit 6.2 million streams on Spotify. There are 10 million Swedes and I doubt many foreigners are playing this particular song.

So this is comparable to Americans streaming a song over 200 million times in 3 weeks.

We already have an "Impfpass" (General vaccination document), we don't need one extra for CoVID. Just add covid data to it

We have a similar thing in Sweden but to make it easier and streamlined the whole EU is discussing making a covid passport after Denmark and Sweden announced their plan.

Vaccinated Swedes will be able to use it to travel within the EU and hopefully outside the union.

The Government is also thinking about making it a mandatory document to go to concerts, sport events, hairdressers etc. The exact domestic uses are still being assessed.

Very sad to hear. I live in Los Angeles and there is a very large Armenian population nearby (in Glendale) so I am sorry to hear about what their country is going through. Have other countries dropped out, due to covid perhaps?

I hope things will calm down over there. It is a very old Christian nation with a rich history.

Armenia is, so far at least, the only one to drop out for both 2020 and 2021. The 2020 show ended up being cancelled because of covid though, but all countries had chosen their entries by then

There are countries who have left Eurovision before however. For different reasons. Bosnia & Hercegovina is taking a break since a couple years for financial reasons for example. Hungary has left because their leader finds it too gay (he is a horrible man for many reasons).

Today the Liberal party announced that they are leaving the January Agreement in 2022 (a budget partnership between the Socialdemocrats, the Green party, the Neoliberals and the Liberals).

The Libs left a Right-leaning partnership to join the JA and now they are also leaving JA to campaign for a Right-leaning Government without the Nationalists.

The Libs poll around 2% these days and a party need 4% to enter/remain in Riksdagen. So they are flailing all over the place and lack a clear role in Swedish politics.

Lets talk about the reflexive possessive pronoun sin, sitt och sina. They can be used in a way not found in English. They are used when the noun belongs to the subject in the sentence.

Hon pratade med grannen om sin bil = She talked to the/her neighbour about her (own) car

Hon pratade med grannen om hennes bil = She talked to the/her neighbour about the neighbours car

In English these two sentences, if translated directly, would both be She talked to the/her neighbour about her car. Which can mean either her own car or the neighbours car. So Swedish makes it possible to easily distinguish between the two.

Am I making sense?

sin = en word in singular
sitt = ett word in singular
sina = plural regardless of en and ett
