poor Chester... initially in the game I thought he'd be more significant but then we all just leave him and come back late in game it's like oh you're back and i proceed to forget about him

we'll see if there's any changes when I get to the PSP remake... I know I want to do Narikiri Dungeon X but still not sure when I'd get around to a remake... probably after finishing the full series playthrough first

HR30 Urgent beated so I'm now 33, didn't add any new quests from it so I'll stop here for tonight before revisiting

Another weird glitch though, armour crafting keeps showing !-marks on old equips I've already crafted like Rakna, and the Maiden sets. They even popped back up again after starting up again from saving/quiting/closing argh.

Tales of the Tempest beated

That was a fun little romp... outside of all the archaic stuff as their first budget DS test. But for a short game I could put up with it and I kinda like the small compact story - although approaching the end kinda caught me off guard like oh wait what this is leading us to the final dungeon?

... not that I wanna do the extras because oooooh booooy traversing the world is incredibly taxing, large maps that you move very slowly in with a fairly high random encounter right

pocket sized tales story enjoyable tho, Caius is alright, has his low moments but he's a kid and then the other three are cool (Tilkis husbando tier, Arria waifu... ofc I approve their ship)... Rubia is annoying though and only gets really dumb in the plot woof.

villains... I think I like them in their own ways, Rommy really builds up your ire but she's the most villainous of the bunch. Lukius was more of the interest arc baddie. Albert kinda goofy, and final boss for what little there is of him... gets a shallow like for background.

*edit* oh right and earlier beated Abyss anime so that's two Tales birds down today... gonna make some Abyss shifts when I put in the Tempest update

further into Tempest now and okay I'm liking it actually - that first dungeon/forest oh boy was not a good intro

also the tertiary playable characters are all cool, Caius and Ruby are standard fair, villains are intriguing in their mystery which is a nice feeling

battle system is basic but being simple to play's not a bad thing. definitely a more managable 3-rails system than Rebirth was for what it's worth (tho grr non-configurable buttons so I can't do my usual Symphonia gamecube-controller-reminiscent setup - Y artes B attack A guard)

update yeah up through til about Akzeriuth it's been a good retelling albeit yeah skipping out a few things (skipping over Chesedonia twice lol)

post-Akzeriuth tho also going a bit further in some scenes like showing more of Asch's post-fomicry past trying to get back home, and just now a better view of Jade with Dist and using fomicry on Nebilim

I'm hoping this can keep Asch from being insufferable at the end because I really wanna put him back over Luke
