Saying GamerGaters voted for Democrats and are therefore leftists is not compelling. Democrats aren't leftists, so at most it means they didn't want to vote for the insanity the Republicans offer.

That's not correct. Although they received 45% of the vote in the election back in 2006, the Fatah president who was also elected was effectively couped after he pushed for legal amendments popular with the public but not Hamas. This led to a war between Fatah and Hamas, with each controlling one area of Palestine. Fatah is just as much the elected government as Hamas. You should really read up on the background of what happened in those elections and after.

Consuming media in that language. When I started learning Japanese for the purpose of playing Dragon Quest V back in middle school most of the resources that are out there now didn't exist. I tried a lot of random stuff, but eventually I just started forcing my way slowly through the game. Then I started playing more games, reading manga, watching anime, and after a while it wasn't that bad anymore. There are a lot of great resources out there to help you get started now, but eventually everyone suggests you start consuming media. For Spanish there are so many great options for media too. I am fortunate to have learned a lot of Spanish from my grandma when I was young, but I think watching shows in Spanish is what really helped me come to understand a lot of it.

I havent played JRPGs like Persona but they turn me off cause its usually the same attack, defend, item, escape

Western CRPGs (Baldurs gate and co.) are much more in line with micromanaging the nuances of a party consisting of a bard, a barbarian, a cleric, a sorcerer, a ranger, and (whatever else) and really tend tomake it apparent your characters wont survive without the help of a team

Almost all the Japanese Wizardry inspired RPGs (which commonly get called DRPGs) are like what you described, since Western CRPGs also derive from Wizardry (which is now strangely owned and developed by Japanese devs ever since the PS2 era).

Western companies can make JRPGs too. Some people will try and argue Crosscode isn't a JRPG when it clearly is lol

The descriptors refer to gameplay style and structure, not just "RPG developed by Japanese or Western company". Same reason Dark Souls is a WRPG despite being developed by a Japanese company.

Yeah see people say that but it doesn't make any sense. Dark Souls is an evolution of Japanese action RPGs that have been made since the 80s, and more specifically From's King's Field and then Shadow Tower series. Also the first Japanese RPGs were inspired by Western CRPGs and tabletop RPGs like D&D, Ultima, Wizardry, Might & Magic, etc.

The style argument makes no sense. Especially since the earliest Japanese RPGs in the 80s were primarily action RPGs with Falcom leading the way, and the earliest Western RPGs were primarily turn-based. Further the whole Dark Souls is a WRPG crowd instantly start calling things like Code Vein a JRPG, showing it's just a label based on their stereotype of how games look.

I had to mention I'm part Mexican and my relatives from Mexico live in the US. It was super awkward. I was so used to joking casually with my friends who weren't bigoted that I wasn't ready for people who actually were racist. That moment pretty much killed making those kind of jokes for me.

I really liked Octopath Traveler. Beyond the armor break system, a lot of the classes had unique options that you had to synergize with the rest of your rollout. And you could cast any status on bosses iirc

I dunno, Persona gameplay is almost more the planning for the dungeon crawling moreso than the battles themselves. I mean once you're in there it's just choosing attacks that the enemy is weak to so you can All Out Attack. I admit choosing weaknesses is more complex than choosing highest damage output, but it's the same situation of "a very obvious dominant strategy exists and you could just ask the game to autoplay for you."

At least that's how P3 is. Fusing personas is pretty interesting though

If you like Octopath Traveler check out the Bravely Default series. Same team.

Almost all the Megami Tensei games have a weakness exploitation system. The earlier games tend to be much more brutal.

It's really frustrating how people just straight up associate Palestinians with Hamas. Most of them don't even live in Gaza and it's not like the civillians that do have a say in how things are run. Hamas launching an attack doesn't make all Palestinians responsible for it. I mean look at the size of Gaza sometime compared to the rest of Palestine and realize that's the extent of Hamas control and again the civillians there do not have a say in where or when rockets will be launched.

Automata takes place after NieR Replicant. Reincarnation doesn't have a fixed time but almost certainly doesn't take place after Automata and features a variety of stories set in different time periods and possible worlds, none of which could be after Automata up to this point. Spoilers:
As they all feature humans living in a human society.

Nier: Reincarnation is technically a sequel (in the way that Automata is a sequel to Nier), but it's a free to play mobile gatcha game.

If you never played the original, the recent remaster (Nier: Replicant) improves the combat significantly from the original so it's def worth picking up.

I have done all the content in NieR Reincarnation and I don't see how it can possibly be a sequel. There have been collabs with Automata, Replicant and currently Drag-On Dragoon 3, but the main story is just different tales of humans from different times and probably different worlds. I don't see how it can be a sequel to Automata. It feels much more like Replicant in terms of themes and setting.
