Honestly, Smash is so big that no matter who they add some large subset of people are going to bitch about it. It's literally pointless for Nintendo to give a shit about the complaints or requests since they'll never please even a majority of people. Not like sales are probably hurting anyways.

iirc, Vasto Lordes have a humanoid form prior to becoming an Arrancar. Arrancar always have a human form whether they were previously a Vasto Lordes or not.

Quite simply, their all games that defined a generation and had a great impact in some way on gaming.

Street Fighter 2 was *the* fighting game that kicked started the genre into high gear and its numerous editions that were released really showed just how influential and popular the game was. A lot of fighting games owe a lot to it.

Super Smash Bros Melee...I mean, this is a game that a hardcore fanbase managed to keep super relevant in the tournament scene for nearly two decades and even today has enough influence that Nintendo is trying to stifle it.

Undertale might not have been the first game to break fourth walls and make the person playing question their actions but it certainly was one of the most popular games to do so and really propping up the genre into what it is today.

And Majora's Mask was simply a marvel of its time, giving many gamers (including myself) their first experience of a video game world that truly felt organic and alive, something that even 20 years later has been difficult to replicate.

Over $4 a song is some pretty insane pricing even for rhythm game standards. The typical range is usually like $1 to $2...and the latter I've rarely seen.

Pretty amusing how everyone saying "Well, he shouldn't have signed the contract!" are completely overlooking the three card monte analogy he made, where the bystanders were a part of the grift. And before I hear "You don't get between a man and his livelihood", that's why he told the first story about the older comedian taking his joke out of intimidation.

Corporations are playing three card monte with artists and the lawyers are the bystanders who hype up the contract since the artists won't have the knowledge to determine if it actually is a good deal or not. And both corporations and lawyers aren't the man trying to make a living from the game, but the comedian who knows they can just take things by force, because who can really stop them?

Corporations are scum and will do whatever it takes to take control of any and everything. All for money and power.

I mean, I suppose that fandom entry could be referring to the Ultimania as you suggest but I see nothing definitively stating that.

Assuming that is true, though, that entry would only support that the final boss was changed and that there is no conclusive evidence that the ending beyond the final boss is changed.

This *really* bums me out. I look forward to it every year and for it to not happen just feels...off. I'll probably end up throwing some money into the fundraiser. MAGFest is one event I really don't wanna see as a casualty from COVID.

They still have a bite to them difficulty wise. Unless you look up how, you won't just break the game on your own, which you can do in any game btw. Boss fights have moves sometimes that can put you on your knees on normal

The difficulty balance issue is that in CS1 and 2, you can easily get what's called triple advantage on 95% of normal fights by attacking them from behind and it's really easy to do. That breaks the challenge on normal fights

3 seems to have calmed that down a lot though. It's harder to do

Until you get a Dragon Vein Quartz. Then you'll be Triple Advantaging everything in the game.

I'd say Nightmare on CS3 is difficult until about Chapter 2. That's when you start having all the tools you need to dismantle the combat system. Which is still fun, don't get me wrong. Cold Steel's biggest strength is the combat system imo.

As much as I have loved the Kiseki series, the Cold Steel part has definitely felt like a big step back. For reference, I've played them all up to and including CS3. The biggest gripe I have is that character relationships, one of the strongest points in Sky and the Crossbell arc, have become paper thin, especially between many of the main characters. Sure, there's *some* development for *some* particular sets of characters, but many really do feel like they're only around because either they have some major plot importance or they know someone of major plot importance. Oh, and to be friends with Rean, that too

Rean himself isn't that bad of a protagonist but it sure feels like he often hogs all the spotlight and makes everyone else just look like supporting characters. And while I don't particularly mind the harem-y aspects that Cold Steel really pushes, it comes at the expense of not just all the other male characters but himself too (Side note CS3 spoilers: I guess Falcom really wanted to throw some salt in the wounds on this one with the ending of CS3 and what happened with Jusis and Millium.).It feels like nearly every male character doesn't have a chance with any named female character who interacts with Rean and on the flip side, Rean is doomed to never have a platonic relationship with a woman. You want to know a series where there's a healthy balance between platonic and romance relationships? Trails in the Sky.

One more point on this: Having such a massive number of characters to focus on in Cold Steel 1, unlike Sky FC or Zero, probably doesn't help any of this. Because there's so many damn characters to follow, it almost feels inevitable that the above seems to have happened. This bloat didn't help as more characters showed up as Cold Steel progressed, though 3 thankfully tried to rein in things slightly by trying to focus more-so on just the brand new characters...to a degree. The things I've heard about 4 make me worry though...

But yeah, the characters themselves just don't feel as compiling in Cold Steel as previous parts. While the base descriptions of a lot of them sounds fine on paper, I'm just not caring about most of them like I did in Sky or Crossbell.
