Did you?

I owned a 3G Vita for a few months in 2014. I couldn't have my phone during the week when I was in my initial(post-Basic) Army training but we could have handheld gaming devices. <_< So I just bought a 3G Vita and signed up for the AT&T service.

I eventually sold that for some spending cash. A year or so later I bought a Wi-Fi model.

Still have it. I barely used it though, most I really did with it was beat FF1 on the Origins collection. and played some Valkyria Chronicles II.

Yes. What the hell Sony was thinking by trying to double dip on an expensive portable with expensive proprietary memory cards I'll never know.

Sony loves making tech and failing to adequately market it. The Vita should have been good, but hamstrung itself with expensive, proprietary bullshit.

Ive got one and its great for PS classics. Thats about 90% of what I use it for, but I use it a lot. I may even order another one to keep in case something happens to mine.

Yes and it was awesome. However, the PSTV Vita thing is what was really special. I have it packed away somewhere (regretfully), but it is probably the coolest and most underrated gaming thing I've sever seen and I have no idea why Sony didn't fucking continue to support it. You literally have this small device, the size of a smartphone, that can plug in to a TV and play most Vita/PS Classic games via a DS3/DS4 controller.

I just don't get it. I'm not being dramatic or hyperbolic when I say it baffles the hell out of me.

Because you can buy a Raspberry Pi or Odroid-XU4 for a fraction of the cost and... without going into details due to the ToU, let's just say that you can achieve far more than just PS Classics. And yes, you can use a DS3 or DS4.

Sony ****ed up by not giving it HDMI support. Mobile phone games & some apps would have helped it out as well.

A seriously nice piece of hardware for the time that had a really bad direction. It could have been so much more.

Bought one recently for cheap so I can turn it into an emulator/homebrew machine. I thought about getting a few retail games for it but there are none for it that interest me. PSP had two Metal Gear Solids and a Final Fantasy 7 spinoff, Vita doesn't even have Parappa the Rapper.

Yeah, bought it solely for Persona 4 Golden and had no regrets. I probably ended up using it way more to play PSP games and to remote play my PS4, than actually play Vita games lol

Vita has a lot of really good indies (of course not exclusive to it, but as in "were new at the time, and you can play them on it"), but yeah, mainstream titles are pretty limited. Most good ones are remasters / ports from older systems.

I never owned a Vita, let alone a PSP (though as a huge Nintendo fan, I really did want a PSP, especially since the DS wasn't lighting any candles for me in terms of its library).

A real shame Sony pulled the plug on the Vita so early, though, because portability was Japan's preferred gaming systems :(

I still have my Vita but I've mostly only used it for playing PS1 RPGs.

I also sometimes use it as an MP3 player because it has Bluetooth and I can connect it to my stereo system.

I bought one for $50 and all it needed was a battery replacement. I can think of maybe 2 or 3 games at the most that I enjoyed. It had a lot of potential but just didn't make sense in any way. An AAA handheld console is a very near-sighted idea.
