The claim made by Tsumugi in V3 is that D1-3 (and an undefined amount more of them following) are works of pure fiction and only much later did they start doing Danganronpa with "real" people. Which is also supposedly why she can cosplay as the 1 and 2 casts.

There is also some small indication at the end that many of her claims may not have been true either, but it's the best we have to go on.

Edit: Oh and V3 was advertised as being a different timeline or something like that. Which is why people will just say that up front to people who haven't played yet.

I'm guessing they do, and that no (legitimate) foreign news network would make a call on their own since they're not actually doing anything than passing along that information.

In Arizona, there was some kind of error with the data initially that led some desks (Id guess fox and AP since they're the ones with arizona marked) to think that Arizona was over, but once that data error was fixed, they just didn't want to rescind the call. Thats my understanding

I still don't understand why they wouldn't uncall it, especially in Fox's case. If you uncall it in a short amount of time because there had been an error, literally no one would have cared much by now and they wouldn't be directly pissing off their own viewer base.
