The problem is as always when you frame shit so lopsided with your bias.

Your framing is no different than the right claiming their appropriate reasons while also claiming the left was just protesting a criminal who died in police custody after committing a crime.

Yeah, I mean. When right wings were protesting the lockdowns, the protests were the idiots and dumbasses going to kill themselves not following protocols and protesting. Dozens upon dozens of articles on so and so who protested is now sick and extreme left wingers would do their "good. Fuck them. Play stupid games get stupid prizes", yadda yadda.

Then when you flipped the protests from right wing to left wing, you get told how important they are. People telling you to lockdown walking with them in huge crowds. They are no longer idiots but protesting an important cause. People aren't getting sick from protests, it is everyone else. Etc etc.

The hypocrisy is truly too glaring to keep trust of the public. It is why the media is not trusted and there is a lack of faith in the government officials making decisions.

Consistency is the problem nowadays. It is convenience.

Well, most studies say that asymptomatic people don't spread the virus much. Most kids are asymptomatic.

As a parent who has a kid entering kindergarten and a kid I raise who is in middle school, kids are irreparably being hurt by distance learning.

There really is no excuse for kids k-5 not to be learning in school. The damage to learning by not learning in a school environment is massive at younger ages. Older kids learning online is more feasible, but it can be damaging to them also.

Any school should at least be doing k-5 in schools, can be spread out between buildings to lessen interaction, and distance learning the older grades if they are concerned.

My worry about schools is that when the second wave hits, there will be no backup plan and we'll be back to the disaster of home schooling like we suffered in the spring. Because this is being politicized, it's now an either/or situation.

What second wave? They didn't know how the virus worked and thought it would subside in the summer and be a second wave in the fall. This has been found to be incorrect and it just comes back every time you lift lockdowns.

Pa unemployment actually only looks at your data for the previous two quarters. Not your best quarter over the whole year. I get pa unemployment every year for a few months so I'm pretty used to this. It also caps at a fairly low amount. About 500 a week.

Unemployment is based off your highest quarter out of your last 5 quarters ignoring your last and first. In PA though. How could the federal get you to 70% if they don't know what the pa unemployment is giving you. What if you don't even have 2019 tax returns? I don't understand lol

Someone had a theory what the 70% wage replacement thing meant, and I am 90% sure they are wrong. But I have no idea what it actually means.

They said the state gives you like 30-50% of your wages, say you make 500... The state gives you 150-250 a week. Then the government gives you 350 a week because that's 70% and you get a total of 500-600 a week.

However, it seems likelier this means in the same 500 scenario that the state gives you 30-50 or whatever for 150-250. Then the government gives you 200-100 to make it total to 350 for 70 replacement.

However, how in the fuck would this even work. Does this go by your highest quarter wages like unemployment does in PA? I mean, if it does and counts my OT, It could be mindboggling what that would add up to.

How in the hell is this spose to work?
