Every time I order from my favorite taqueria -- if I get something really white, like a burrito, they don't give me the hot red sauce and only give me the mild verde.
Every time I go to Thai restaurants and I say I want medium+ or a 7 or 8 -- they always ask me about ten times if I'm sure.
My girlfriend's dad is Indian, and the first time I met him his wife intentionally made her food less spicy.

This is really annoying because I have a higher heat tolerance than a lot of Indians and East Asians I know.

I'm sorry bro but I can't see how asking you that could be bothersome. Am I missing something?

Years ago CE used to be filled with lots of classist, STEM or bust, red piller type talk. There also used to be a ton of fat-shaming, anti-body mod discussion, etc.
These were all things I strongly stood against and I associated with the vast majority of CE users. I made a complaint one time about something and someone likened me to other CEmen and it pissed me off - because at that time a good portion of the board stood for everything I was against. They continued to call me that after they watched me get myself a week suspension or something because of it. Since then I've been banned/suspended numerous times because someone always tries to bring it up every time I come back.
The board seems a little bit better over the last 2 years in regards to what I said. I don't see as much classism, red piller stuff, or fat shaming -- so I can say it's not quite as offensive as it used to be. But it still hurts me more than anything anyone can call me.

Do you support GameStops crappy business practices??
What is your favorite South Park episode??
Any tattoos or piercings??

I don't know enough about their current business practices. The last time I went in there it was just to find a Pokemon game for DS and I noticed they've phased out of literally every system I've owned short of DS and Switch. I noticed they mostly just sell novelty items and shit now, and it's kind of weird. I think it's lame that Pokemon games still go for like over $30 used, and I think it's lame that it looks like they're getting the majority of their money off of Funko Pops. I also know they're really bad with trading rates, right?

I think my favorite South Park episodes were the ones in the season with So-Do-So-Pa. I don't recall any particular episode - I just remember thinking that season was hilarious. I really like the trapper keeper episode, too? There are so many good episodes and it's been awhile since I've seen them, so it's kind of hard to pick one without thinking long about it.

When I was younger I wanted a fruit/vegetable themed sleeve - but it never happened. I almost got a monroe, too, back in '05 - but opted to keep my beard instead. I did have my septum done back in '05, but I let it close around '09 or '10.

Pretty bad comparison bc its clear all sorts of different styles of movies, budgets, time periods, genres, etc can be considered cinema

also unironically using the word weinery seems more weinery than going yeah corporate manufactures stuff that solely exists to print money isnt comparable to movies made with a unique vision

That's really discrediting all the people who work in the cast and crew of those movies. They've hired on legitimately talented actors. They hire legitimately talented computer graphics artists, costumers, etc. Even if the directors adhere to certain conventions -- that's not much different than pastiche, or following the conventions of a particular genre. It's also funny if the end goal of monetary gain delegitimatizes them, when didn't Scorsese himself kind of imply that these blockbuster superhero films hurt the monetary gain of other filmmakers by monopolizing theater screens? If monetary gain wasn't the end goal in his eyes, why can't he shoot films on a smaller budget like plenty of independent film makers do? Why can't he abuse the power he's gained from decades in the industry to curtail some of his expenses? How come production companies like A24 are still doing fine and still releasing films that he could give the moniker "cinema" by his definition?

I don't have dreams anymore. I gave up on dating after my last girlfriend. I just so happened to be on adult dating sites and sleeping with women when I met my current girlfriend. I was driving up here to have sex with her, put my kids in her rear-end, etc. She kind of pressured me into dating, and it was the right place and time - so it just happened? She's a good friend and we work well together?
A long time ago, though, I used to just go on conventional dating sites and kind of read profiles and message women with questions regarding shared interests/hobbies. It was pretty successful for me - and I did get lots of numbers/dates. But my girlfriend says it's probably just because they were all "hipster" girls and I'm a "typey-type" because I'm chubby/bearded/wear flannel. So I can play on easy mode with certain demographics, I guess?

Are Kids and Gummo not cinema because Korine was too new of a director to have his films/style be definitive at that point? Or Eggers and Aster, despite critical acclaim, because they're only on their sophomore films?
What about someone like Anna Biller or (yuck) Terrantino -- who built their styles around pastiche, albeit well done pastiche? Is it not cinema because it's derivative? Because people can look at Biller and wrongly associate her work with stuff like Russ Meyer or Jean Rollin? Or you can look at Terrantino and say his stuff totally rips off Abel Ferrara or whatever?

the answer to all of these is no.

a vine or tiktok could be cinema. a youtube video. a $250m blockbuster or $50k microbudget movie. a tv show even.

its all about specificity of vision. if something is focus grouped to death (like most blockbusters) i would argue that they aren't that different than any other blockbuster. or if they're some indie with a bunch of handheld soft focus stuff and people mumbling it isn't cinema either bc there's hundreds of those. it just isn't original. nothing new is happening, no unique voice shining through, etc. and this is all easier to trace if a director has a large body of work and you can see where they visit the same style, themes, etc that makes them stand out.

and of course there can be bad cinema and good cinema. like zack snyder or something who has a voice but its just a bad one.

Scorsese's films were/are blockbusters, too (maybe not literally - but it feels like it). I get what you said about having a unique style -- but does that imply that James Gunn doesn't have a unique style of his own? I've never seen the Guardians of the Galaxy films - but I feel like his writing and directing catalogue has a distinct/goofy style to it, starting with his work with Troma (particularly Tromeo and Juliet).
There's also a unique style and theme to the costuming, special effects, etc. in the MCU. It's a discredit to all of THOSE members of the film crew to say that there isn't a shared vision or there's a lack of creativity.

Literally watch that Youtube video I posted, because the definition being used definitely follows a fascist view of art.

Surprisingly no. I never played competitively. When I started playing at Gen 5, I went back and replayed all the previous generations. I was too focused on getting the PvE experience and collecting all my favorites, breeding for good IVs, finding out cool coverage through egg moves, etc. and didn't think about leveling up movesets too much.
I didn't play Gen 6 or 7, and when I got Sword and Shield I played until I beat the game - then as soon as I started post-game and was about to get into all of that stuff my girlfriend's Switch account got banned and I lost my game.

Did he break your heart?

If you're referring to Satan in my previous post - Satan just kind of promised me the capacity to comprehend whatever I want if I gave him my soul. The kind of Monkey's Paw of the deal was that I don't really have the motivation or desire to actually have the drive to do so. I do think following the dream I became more intelligent and wise - but I may be slightly more nihilistic than previously? But then again - since I don't believe in the supernatural - it could probably be chalked up to the fact that I was 20 and still had a lot of maturing to do at the time.
If you're just making some weirdly vague statement not related to my previous post -- then my first serious girlfriend's step dad kind of broke my heart in a sense? I had moved to Arizona to be with her when I was 22, but I had dropped out of college and wasn't pursuing further education -- and he was a bootstrappy, teapartier who held that against me big time. After a bad confrontation with him I had to move back to Ohio after about 2 months, and I kind of missed out on a ton of cool life experiences I could've had. Although our eventual breakup had to do with her not being into me romantically - so maybe it would've gone sour had I stayed regardless? I can't really predict that.
One of my previous bosses kind of broke my heart and made me ridiculously depressed for over a year until I could transfer to a different store.
My heart is kind of broken with how politics are nowadays, and how people don't value education, rehabilitation, or discourse like they used to -- and how self proclaimed "leftists" use the term "liberal" as an insult. I used to have at least some interest in non-profit work and slightly bettering the world around me - even if it was for selfish means - but now I've kind of grown to be bitter towards everyone on all sides of me. I may be even more paranoid than I was over a decade ago. My heart is definitely "broken" from that.

what do you think happens after death?

I've always been incredibly nihilistic -- and I'm not just saying that to be edgy. Even as a kid I didn't really have any strong motivations or desires outside of sex and food. I kind of believe in nothing on a grander scale; I'd say I believe that everything just fades to black.
This is exactly why I bailed out of multiple suicide attempts as a teenager -- including the garage gassing, pills, etc. I don't think there's anything that can be as bad as simply not existing - which is what I think happens?
In my early twenties I had a dream where I contacted Satan and had bad sleep paralysis (one of only two instances I've ever had in my life) - but I don't personally think that it has/had much significance and I don't think it was actually spiritual or metaphysical as other people may think.
I think when you die - as long as it isn't due to brain injury - the DMT in your body releases and what you experience depends upon if you died happy/fulfilled or riddled with guilt and regret. That's my personal interpretation of "heaven" and "hell."
Based on these beliefs of mine - I could never really "prove" one way or another without dying. Even a near death experience or dream could be explained with brain chemistry following my beliefs. So based on that I don't have a very high degree of confidence.

Although I don't want to compare Marvel films to modern/abstract/subversive art -- the principle still stands. It's weirdly fascist to set arbitrary guidelines for what creative endeavors are considered art and which ones are not.
Scorsese is like the adult version of the High School kid with a bowl cut who just started guitar lessons, bought a Led Zeppelin shirt from Kohls, and talks about in his English Literature class how, "punk isn't real music - it's just power chords," and "rap isn't music - it's just talking." I dunno, the 90s honestly kind of sucks for horror imo. Theres Audition, Jacobs Ladder, Candyman, and not really a whole lot else Im too keen on.

I used to think the same thing, until I really thought about it. Sure the '90s is still worse than the '70, '80s, and '10s obviously -- but it had some heavy hitters. Even if you're not a fan of The Reflecting Skin -- you even acknowledge yourself that Candyman and Audition are there; I don't know if you feel as strongly - but I'd go far enough to say those two films are GOATS of the genre.
I can get if you're not a fan of the goofiness of the '90s - but stuff like Dead Alive, Basket Case 2, Frankenhooker, and Cemetary Man definitely stand up as some of the more iconic horror-comedies. Nightbreed and Child's Play 2 may not be as comedic - but are every bit as goofy, and both really solid B+ films. Tales from the Hood and People Under the Stairs are two of the best examples of socially conscious horror films. I'd go far enough to say Tales from the Darkside is every bit as good as the Creepshow films or Trilogy of Terror as an anthology.

There's a lot more to say about the '90s than the '00s, especially if you take the French out of the equation.

He showed emotion at the end. I didn't find his behavior very odd before that. He was just a kind of dull kid from the rural US in the '50s. I think any lack of emotion beforehand was a result of masculine stereotypes of the era - and his own disbelief and wanting to sensationalize what was going on around him.

But starting with Gen 5 and replaying most of the DS/GBA games, Gen 1, and later SH/SW (never played Gen 6 or 7 because I didn't have a 3DS) -- HGSS were honestly the most enjoyable games I played? But I don't know if I'd feel the same playing the Gameboy originals - because playing the game pre-physical/mental split is fucking bullshit.

Gen 1 is held together with duct tape and bubble gum. Gen 2 gets points over it just for not being completely broken.
