AND on the heels of all the stuff that went down 2 days ago with the Mets poignant walkoff / refusal to play for the racial injustice stuff being overshadowed by the Brodie hot mic slamming Rob Manfred , and on top of all the emotional Dominic Smith stuff. man its been a wild fucking week.

I assume most of you saw Dom's interview and the kneeling and such, really emotional.
If you didn't see the other stuff, basically Brodie was caught on a hot mic/video an hour before the game saying the Mets didn't want to play, and wanted to do a walkoff and Manfred basically wanted to force them to play, allowing them to do the walkoff but wanting them to come back an hour later. And he was slamming the shit out of Manfred for this, calling him a bad leader, etc. Then later, he put out a press statement admitting he thought it was Manfred's idea to force them to play but it was actually Jeff Wilpon's (and both the commissioner and both Wilpons put out statements saying the same), and this was very clearly a lie to protect the commissioner... andit really sucks that all that stuff overshadowed the strong message the Mets players were making by taking the field and then doing the walk-off.

And now, we have THE WILPONS IN THE FINAL STAGES OF SELLING THE TEAM TO STEVE COHEN

It's fucking despicable the way the Mets kicked Cespedes (and Sandy Alderson, and Matt Harvey, and RA Dickey, and Dan Warthen, etc etc) to the curb on their way out, but this is what they fucking do all the time. They knew ces was opting out and chose to publicly shit on him with vague statements.
This is well beyond fucking lolmets and bad trades and bad procedural decisions and shit (though thats all part of it). This is just how the fucking Wilpons do their fucking business. And its fucking horrific and its been going on since they've fucking owned the team. These people are fucking criminals and everythign they've done is fucking gross and the situation needs to not be minimized by hahahah LOLMETS TYPICAL METS.

At least the teams that are "bad" go through their up and down phases where they are great for a few years and then bad for a few years, as opposed to perpetually aiming for mediocrity, if not lower, and then just getting lucky once in a while because you had a good draft, but not being good because you don't surround your cheap young talent because you consider yourself "financially hamstrung" by a 4 year 110M contract.
