Since they wont swing until a strike, it means they dont swing at pitches outside the strike zone if there hasnt been a strike yet, and usually rack up a few balls that they otherwise wouldnt. As a result 7 of their hitters are in the top 10 most-walked this season. --- |

If you take a chaos gate or erebus gate you might skip it though, and also sometimes Hermes will pop up first, but then they'll be the next one after him (and Hermes usually comments on it). The rarity bonus only affects that first boon from the god. Here's some additional info about god appearances you may not realize: in any given run, without using keepsakes to manipulate it otherwise, you will only encounter four random gods, plus Hermes who can only show up three times in a run. If you use a keepsake of a different god who is not part of your four, they will begin appearing, but one of the previous four will stop appearing. You can take advantage of this to boost that Family Favorite mirror boost if you prefer using that to Privileged Status. --- |

The trick is that you can get maximum lives on literally the second enemy in 1-1, so my first several runs I did that, but eventually I was comfortable enough to skip it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NoT9MaA-Hhc Just make sure you stop short of 128 lives, otherwise your life counter wraps around to -127 and will cause a Game Over the next time you either die or finish a level. --- |

One is a Fire Eater, which rather than being incinerated will eat the fire and become "Magmatic." The player that got this effect hit a home run, maybe that's a guarantee at their next At-Bat or something. Next is the Siphon, who drains stats during Blooddrain more frequently and can also drain it into other things (the time we've seen this so far the stats were drained into an Out). One pitcher on each team got Friend of Crows which allows them to command crows to run players off the bases, resulting in an out for them. Since all the Lovers have Love blood type they all have the ability to Charm players. In the case of pitchers, they can charm hitters to instantly swing three times and get out at the plate. Hitters can charm the pitcher to give them a walk. --- |

One of my favourite combos is the Demeter special with the bow, especially if coupled with the Demeter boon that does 100 damage on 10 stacks of chill. Parking yourself next to an enemy and unleashing a volley point blank gives an immediate 10 stacks of chill. The second volley means you trigger the 100-damage with every arrow that hits. 600-1,000 damage per special is hilarious. Asterius is particularly vulnerable to this since he's so large and gives you a chance to safely cast 1-2 volleys between his combos.The Chill stack completely clears after the damage, so you'd be starting from 0 chill again on the second special --- |
