Boss is strong with armor. The problem is their power is entirely reliant on the armor itself which Star has various means of screwing up either through brute force power or other magical means. She has a LOT of spells and affects to work with ranging from potential time stop, transmutation (can just turn em into a carrot), forceful hallucinations, freezing (capable of neutralizing a demon with fire powers), extreme damage (apparently Mega-Explosive Crystal Laser is capable of neutralizing planets according to the book), just opening up a dimensional rift under them and winning via ring out etc.

With All Seeing Eye, Star is going to know where The Boss is and can portal to them suddenly for easy ambush. Although Star is pretty tanky in her own right (getting smashed directly around on castle walls by a giant soul eating magical royal monster along with other stuff on top of magical defenses like bubble shields etc) I think Shonen put it best. They both have a lot of ways to deal with each other, but Star has the guaranteed ambush and can deal with em in a lot more ways. Her powers are also tied to her while Boss's isn't and can be rendered relatively helpless.

Gold Star is pretty tanky and is pretty busted at magic capable of freezing time for the entire world and straight up recreating the entire realm of magic by herself (the source of all magic for the multiverse). Also Boss is most definitely not getting the opening strike here. All Seeing Eye and portals are going to give Star the ambush factor and she can likely destroy their armor leaving them powerless as the powers aren't intrinsic to The Boss. She could also just portal them into the space between dimensions as well

With suit its more even but even then Star is packing too much firepower with a bunch of other stuff like potential time stop and is essentially guaranteed the ambush. She also has dimensional portal shenanigans which I don't think Boss has an answer for.

I dunno I guess it depends on how you define broken. There have been plenty of mistiered entries. From a quick glance New Sun Gambit, while powerful, isn't THAT insane. At least nothing like the bullshit Flash can get up to and I think he's in this at mid or high tier.

I can understand the sudden limiters being annoying like in the case of Balefire. Next go around would be better to take things as is and tier accordingly (if tiers are even a thing) unless they are specifically put in a certain way from the get go or at least make it clearer.

Cloud either via sleep or in an actual fight. Cloud duked it out with stuff like Sin Bahamut and the Remake stuff. I think he could take Jack-Jack in a straight up fight if it came down to it but yeah sleep seems like it'd do the trick.

Gambit. Rule of Funny being a double edged sword and such...also this was clearly Black Hat's plan to hand Gambit a pass to beat Bugs due to Gambit being too weak for this bracket. By extension, Gambit "winning" this is a joke at the expense of everyone else and that would be the most villainous thing to do for this on a meta level.

-Entries should be allowed all their stuff as intended or specific versions / nerfs decided prior. There were way too many flimsy things from match to match with characters not being allowed stuff on the spot or scenarios like Neo where he was suddenly not allowed his super powers since he was outside the matrix when he was likely nominated with them in mind.
-Not taking long between nomination and the tournament. Earlier is better as people's interests
-If different brackets are kept could have em run simultaneously not sure though.
-Information for the entries attached in their matches.
-I can personally take or leave the whole large neutral ground scene where they have to hunt each other. I can see how such a factor can play in a fight

Also, as a point against Bugs, IIRC he was incapable of defeating the Monstarrs in Space Jam, to the point where he needed freaking Michael Jordan to swoop in and save the day. That's a bad showing even when it "would be funny" for him to win.

Black Hat beat Grim from Billy and Mandy based on his portraits, is immortal, and put a primordial darkness being that could destroy a universe at his mercy. I don't think that means much. What is Gambit's best damage and durability feats? Can he survive the planet exploding? How can he actually win here? From what I am finding he has been taken down by way less and hasn't done much impressive unless it is a particular version of Gambit?

He has demonstrated to be able to just fold you into nothing or force choking / shadow crushing you from wherever. I don't think Gambit has an answer to just getting his neck suddenly snapped from the word go or sent to space / the sun. Black Hat isn't an idiot and literally made a series of videos to avoid falling for villain fail tropes and how to fuck over heroes. He would definitely want to annihilate Gambit given he is a hero character. Gambit also doesn't really have a way to actually kill him let alone keep him that way. Then there is all the meta bullshit and BH can just casually pop the planet if he wanted.

Okay so first off, I think Black Hat was way oversold last topic based on the videos I watched. Granted, I didn't watch every single one, but of the ones I saw:

- One claimed that Black Hat was "immune to mind control" but the specific form of mind control involved was trying to reverse his emotions of hate into love. I would say this shows Black Hat is incapable of love (and would therefore be immune to all charm/seduction effects) but that doesn't mean he'd be immune to, say, command-based mind control.
- Another claimed that Black Hat can put you in a TV show, any time. The actual video in question showed Black Hat already in a TV show, and switching places with a viewer who happened to be touching the screen. That's a very fringe situation, not likely to be repeated.
- A third video showed him imbuing household objects with evil spirits. That's kinda nice but not a combat showing?
- Pirateking also claimed that Black Hat has Rob's remote, but actually it was his minion who claimed he had it and Black Hat is never shown using it (nor is the minion).

All of this might not be directly relevant to Gambit in particular but I just wanted to say I am s k e p t i c a l of Black Hat.

I thought I mentioned it was Flug's remote not Black Hat's at the time? I don't see why it wouldn't be Flug's given that was the context of the scene saying it was HIS remote complete with outline. This is the same guy capable of casual time travel (Aku Time Ray where he sent Demencia into the future Samurai Jack style...where she proceeded to take over the planet), Super Saiyan serum, whatever the fuck that concoction did to Mojo, bio engineering monsters and experiments including 505 which is canonically unkillable etc etc. Flug may look goofy but the guy makes some busted devices...all of which are Black Hat's as he is his servant. Black Hat has shown to just warp and take any of his shit whenever he wants to sell (which is probably how the shifty guy from Gumball got it in the first place) though he can likely do the stuff himself. All the CN stuff is canon is to Villainous

As for the mind control stuff this is a guy who Cthulhu doesn't dare fuck with and is a client of his. Trying to mind fuck Black Hat would be like trying to mind fuck a lovecraftian god (which he considers beneath him). It isn't going to go well. The TV thing was more just to show his reality manipulation and general fuckery as he can do stuff like that on top of creating portals to other universes. The items was more to show his manipulation of souls and demonic beings. He is capable of just sicking hordes of malicious ghosts or things possessing stuff on people and chill out if he desired.

Yeah, Armstrong has attacks strong enough to kill Harry? But can Armstrong hit Harry? I'm leaning Armstrong because I feel like Armstrong lands a hit before Harry starts using attacks strong enough to work, but I could see arguments going the other way.

...Come to think of it, does Harry have his Invisibility Cloak here? Being undetectable seems like it would make an even bigger difference than a broomstick.

Given how he blitzed Sam from across the stage at high speeds? Yeah I am pretty sure he could hit Harry and Harry getting hit by anything Armstrong is packing probably puts him down for the count. There is also that bit against Raiden with him chucking huge debris super quickly (when you take blade mode slow motion into account) then charging just as he throws it for a follow up.

So yeah going with Armstrong for now. Unless Harry goes for the killing curse fast (if it would work) / generally acts way out of character I don't see him taking this.

Killing Curse could potentially win it for him baring NANOMACHINES SON interfering with that somehow but if he doesn't do that from the get go he probably gets stomped pretty quick.
