Nope. The company we merged with calls the shots now and they have explicitly told HR that there will be no counteroffers to people leaving. I know because I was close to one of the HR managers, who also quit a couple of weeks ago.

Also, anyone who is going to a competitor is now let go the next day, even if they give a two week notice. And they arent paid. I know several people who have been with the company 5-10 years who put in their two week notice and were let go next day.

I think new company wants to push everyone out and replace them with cheaper labor tbh.

The part about being let go the day after giving two week notice seems really illegal...

People should be way more critical of black history month, because every year I was taught that George Washington Carver invented peanut butter, but I never learned about the Tulsa race riots until this year when those events were featured on the Watchmen.

A comic book tv show taught me better black history than all of my education.

So maybe black history month needs to be better executed.

Or stop making it a month, which makes it easier to ignore. Just incorporate it all throughout teachings of American history.

The problem (if I'm following Pokemon correctly) is that some people don't want to teach it throughout history unless the event was something black people were solely responsible for

You might also find it horrifying that the reasons dogs love squeak toys is that it sounds like prey squealing. You know the cute thing where they shake a toy in their mouth? Also a way to "deal with" captured prey.

Anyway, my cats still aren't 100% getting along. My large, young boy cat is still regularly getting his ass kicked by the tiny old lady cat.

She's been acting a little strange lately. The rescue I was fostering her through was being difficult about arranging a vet visit for her (it was like pulling teeth just to get ahold of the woman in charge), so I told them I'd just adopt her so I can take her to my vet. She's been chewing her paw pads raw, getting litter in them, and then repeating the cycle. I bought a new litter that won't stick to her paws, but she hates it and poops directly outside the litterbox.

I can tell that her paws hurt and it's making her very reactive. I wish I could communicate to her that I'm just trying to help.

Sorry to hear that.. is it normal for cats to chew their paw pads?

silver just caught a gecko and she slammed the poor thing into walls and floor multiple times until it's that. like holy shit. rivel isn't that vicious. she likes casual torture by swatting and holding small lizards dawn with her paw, but silver just straight up smashed that thing. she stood on hind legs while holding the gecko in her mouth, makes a wide head swipe, then release it full speed into walls or floor, then she touched the gecko to see if it's still alive. if it's still moving, repeat

i liked infinite, but I can tell its not 10% of the game it was supposed to be.

characters like the handyman, the songbird, the flamethrower dude and the creepy George Washington robot were supposed to have huge roles in the game, and Elizabeth was supposed to have a ton of different mechanics.

How I see it, because not everyone is able to or wants to deal with content of a certain nature, topics should just be tagged with the correct flair to warn people that may want to avoid that kinda stuff. Outright banning content that shows up on twitter/reddit/other public forums just makes gamefaqs more irrelevent of a platform.

Oh I followed your experience and argument, I just wasn't clear on what overrall pattern or observation CarrieChan was trying to make. Twitter/Reddit/etc still don't allow some things, so I wasn't sure if he/she was saying that all censors should be removed from the internet..

A) Because it's a different point from your other posts that was going on about extremists in both sides. It's fine to say you are a single issue voter and therefore only vote for/against certain parties.
And since you missed or ignored it,
B) What about guns? Did Democrats file or support this case (of taking guns without consent)? I haven't heard any major leaders do so.

The President is not mandated to carry out the orders/rulings of the Supreme Court. If the court rules in favor and Biden doesn't shoot it down, then yes, Biden supporters voted for it. And given Biden's stances on gun control, if the courts rule in favor he'll likely carry on with it.

The person who Im getting the updates from (her best friend) thinks, admittedly pessimisticly, that one, if not both of us, might have been the trigger in some way and doesnt know if we might be blacklisted for a little bit until shes recovered. Which....wouldnt be good for me tbh.

He kind of thinks that because both of think she was a little during the week prior to the incident but when either of us asked how she was doing or if anything was wrong, she said she was good. The fact she was likely trying to deal with something, likely big, alone without talking to anyone is kind of scaring us a little.

It's definitely tempting to try and piece together what happened but you don't have much to go on and could just blame yourself more. It really sounds like you were trying to help, and she might take you up on that.
