You know the cute thing where they shake a toy in their mouth? Also a way to "deal with" captured prey. Anyway, my cats still aren't 100% getting along. My large, young boy cat is still regularly getting his ass kicked by the tiny old lady cat. She's been acting a little strange lately. The rescue I was fostering her through was being difficult about arranging a vet visit for her (it was like pulling teeth just to get ahold of the woman in charge), so I told them I'd just adopt her so I can take her to my vet. She's been chewing her paw pads raw, getting litter in them, and then repeating the cycle. I bought a new litter that won't stick to her paws, but she hates it and poops directly outside the litterbox. I can tell that her paws hurt and it's making her very reactive. So I leave home to run an errrand and her cat rubs all over me for a couple minutes. I come back an hour later and he runs from her front door to me while meowing a lot, and then I look at my front door and there's a dead bird right there on the ground. Try to get past the cat to go inside and he's at my door trying to get inside with me. So I had to tell my neighbor to let her cat in. I left some of Mocha's leftover canned food for them since she doesn't like wet food that isn't puree. I usually give him a "special" breakfast (wet food instead of dry food) and dinner (wet food as usual, but with treats sprinkled on top) to celebrate as well as getting him a toy. I actually haven't gotten any new toys for him though because he only ever wants to play with things like sticks and paper. In the past, I would also give my other cat the special "birthday" meal even though it wasn't his birthday just so he wouldn't feel left out. Since I've adopted the cat I was fostering, I guess I need to decide when her birthday is.
