the reason I ask is that I hear you can play Star Wars Epic Duels on it. People may not have experience playing that particular game, but in general is TTS worth it.

In the mean while I am going to go to work and print out 79 pages of expansion characters i'll need to cut out for use with the physical game....oh yeah

That's the exact same reason I've been thinking about getting it.

I'm torn on the expansion characters. We made a few when we where kids, but what made Duels so great for us, was everyone knowing everyone's deck. It added a lot of poker/psychological elements to the game.

That's mostly in the movies, and is mostly stupid.

In the comics, he's only paralyzed because he tried to fight an alien back in the 50s and it crippled his legs. Then he got the ability to walk back when his body was cloned (for reasons) in the early 1980s. Until the writers broke his back in the early 1990s and put him back in the chair. Then he got better. And then they killed him. And then he came back again.

If anything, the thing that keeps paralyzing Professor X isn't his powers, it's status quo. People remember him as "bald wheelchair guy", so he will ALWAYS be "bald wheelchair guy". Even when one writer has him cured somehow, it's only a matter of time before a future writer comes along and just cripples him again. It's like the reverse of Batgirl.

It's the same reason why no major character will ever really die. No matter how ridiculous a death one writer gives a character, someone else will eventually be along who has nostalgia for that character who will either bring them back to live or reveal that they were never actually dead in the first place. Most comic writers now grew up as comic fans, and they're mostly just writing fanfiction about the characters they liked as kids (which is why most mainstream comics basically suck now).

Yep, and I guess sub in Gene Grey for the prof if you want, I think Heart ring may have granted telekinesis in addition to telepathy in a few eps, but I could be remembering wrong.

It's more because people are promoted based on their talents at their current position, not their talents at their future position; ending in a morbid equilibrium when people are finally promoted into positions they can't handle.

That is a major factor. I think there is a name for this phenomenon. People will often keep getting promoted until they get to a level where they don't perform well, and often instead of going back down a level to where they excelled they are just stuck at the level they are mediocre at.

My assistant manager is retiring in a week. I like her, but I actually don't know any of her interests.

However, I was on a bullion website last night thinking of what to get her(never shown interest in coins or bullion but investments are universal), when it hit me.

Her last name is Platt. Ah, you see where I am going with this?

I hope nobody else I work with thinks I am upstaging their gifts, since I imagine I would have spent the most. However, the pun is too good(Platt/Platinum) that matters more than money ever could.

DQ grill food isn't amazing, but its above average for fast food, fries need lots of salt, and are pretty average. Blizzards are a big deal though. There $5 (might be $6 now) lunchs are a good value.

I just played it for the first time this year. It's amazing! Granted I played the PC version.

Yeah it's still killer. Not sure if Chrono Trigger, or FF7 are the pinnacle of JRPG, but it's one of those 2. Nothing since has come close.

It wpuld be cool if it weren't for the clue that doesn't even help. As is it's just "Hey, I hid something somewhere in your house. You'll probably eventually find it." A proper treasure hunt would have likely been more fun for them. A real clue leading to a series of other real clues with the treasure at the end.

Of note, guy that got shot in the head, did not have his face concealed earlier in the night, but at some point before chasing the kid, took his shirt off to cover his head and face to try and conceal his identity.

Looks like he lived approximately 30 min away, and worked in kenosha. Depending on where in Antioch he lived, and where in Kenosha he worked could be as little as 15 min away. He is more or less "local" regardless if he happens to live across a state border.

Back in my teens and even early 20's I was asked for I.D frequently when buying tobacco and alcohol. No surprise really but some cashiers are really rude and obnoxious about it. This woman I'm talking about here was somewhat ok. When i told her my date or birth and shown the face under the mask she smiled at me in a "I don't believe you" type of manor and at that point I just told her I'll buy it elsewhere so it doesn't matter and left. I'm getting too old for this shit.



Thankfully ours isn't that extreme. Challenge 25 is the deal here so if folk look under 25 the cashier could ask for I.D. Most don't bother asking me for I.D as they have common sense though. It's even better on self service where the machine worker just presses a button to green light the sale. Again if I looked underage I'd get it as I did in my teens and early 20's. I don't think I can pass for under 25 these days and whatever the case I'm over 18 obviously so they won't have some angry parent marching down or police officer questioning them.

Carrying you id your entire life would be less inconvenient than going to a different store once, let alone the multiple times you have described in this thread.

Cut back on Mutt a bit, and remove or seriously cut the Jungle chase scene, and it's not a terrible movie, probably close to Temple.

I never got the alien hate. It's not a like it's less "realistic" or believable than the ghosts, magic artifacts, immortality, etc in the first 3.

No console has run for 8 years that is an absurd assertion. I use my PC's until they stop being functional and I've never run into a situation where it can't run games, paid 800 for mine a few years back and it's easily got a few more years to go.

It's currently been out 7, and Microsoft stated that for the first year or so all there first party titles will be playable on xone and series x both, so yes, it looks like it will have an 8 year shelf life. It cost $500 at launch. A 7 year old $500 pc is going to really struggle to run most new triple A games, if it can run them at all. PC has plenty of advantages over console but price and cost of ownership are not amongst them.

While I'm sure it would manage, it wouldn't be great, and would fall behind very quickly. The Xbox one looks like it will probably have about an 8 year run. A pc you payed $600 for now, is going to be pretty trash in just a few years, and will be a relic in 8 years.
