I blame social media sites for allowing the state of online news and propaganda to degenerate for four years unchecked. They could have taken measures YEARS ago. Now they're patting each other on the back for finally starting to regulate misinformation after it's already done so much catastrophic damage.

I own every system except the Virtual Boy and all of the best games for them. I no longer have need for a virtual console.

I've owned many Nintendo systems but even for people like us it's still useful to have a virtual console. There are a lot of reasons I might not have my old systems any more or why I wouldn't want to clutter my house with them. Especially if I only want to play one or two games from that system

NSO games is fine...as an OPTION alongside buying old games. And some games like Pokemon wouldn't work with their rental system, who's gonna like the idea that their Pokemon games eventually lose access and they lose their teams??

OK, so I live in lovely Carmel Valley. Maybe you saw Big Little Lies, set in nearby Monterey. Yeah, I have it pretty good. At least, I had it pretty good. Until this Karen meme came around.

My name is Karen McKay.

I am not a privileged white female. Im a self made real estate investor. Well, I did have a small loan of less than a million dollars from my parents to get me started in the business of owning fabulous real estate in and around Carmel Valley. Well, it wasnt so much a loan as it was a trust fund.

It's a cedar waxwing. So cute. He was stunned on the pavement by some shops. Flew two feet when we picked him up but other than that he hasn't moved since.

Scizor has a great design, IDK what your problem is with its face. The eyes are larger now, rounded underneath, and it has yellow irises. It has gone from having blades to having large claws with eye-like patterns, and its body is shiny and metallic now.

I think your opinion is valid but I don't think there's anything inherently bad about his design.

OK I love gen 4 almost as much as I like gen 2, but I have to say

Despite being very important and drastically changing the viability of many Pokemon, splitting the physical and special moveset on a move-by-move basis didn't actually add any new content. It just fixed one component of an existing mechanic. So comparing it with the introductions of mechanics like breeding, abilities, or held items isn't so valid. Those mechanics actually brought novel content to the game for people to experience, whereas the split was just fixing a mechanic that had been left broken for too long.

I do think it was important to do but I don't think fixing what was clearly a broken mechanic is as impressive as people make it sound.

It was awesome at the time. Going back to Kanto for the first time was amazing then even if it's sort of bare bones.

That's not even the only mind-blowing part of that game. As cool as it was to realize you could revisit the place from the first Pokemon game, it was just as hype to realize what's waiting at the end of Mount Silver after you beat Kanto.

I didn't like it tbh. It felt like too often they were confusing "being artistic" with "being weird for weird's sake" - if you have a living killer tyre in the film, that's the draw, you shouldn't need other random bollocks to make your film stand out.

The killer tyre shouldn't be the least confusing part of the movie.

I'm pretty sure they weren't trying to be artistic. I think they just felt like making a movie with that premise. They just felt like doing it. Sometimes everybody wants to do weird things, for no real reason.

Anyway I watched it with my dad and enjoyed it. I was very surprised that he also enjoyed it. My favorite part is at the end when they go no wait it's not dead, it's been reincarnated as a tricycle.

It's not really something I've encountered much, but they are probably conflating those hobbies with their identity. So when you say you don't like that hobby, to them it's like you're saying you don't like a part of them, or like saying you have bad taste. so they feel hurt

It also damages their pride because they are probably proud of what they've accomplished in those hobbies and now they know you don't care about the hobby in the first place, so they think their accomplishments won't mean anything to you

Most memes at least offer some kind of creativity. I go on reddit and it's just people saying "here's bernie photoshopped into this scene/game for no reason" and they have thousands of upvotes.

I guess people are just relieved they can meme about things like him now instead of trump. And it's kind of a funny picture of him, but as a meme it has the staying power of like 10 minutes. It feels like a meme from 2010.

The old style was typical in flash games and Ed McMullen used to make all his games in flash look that way, but the remake isn't in flash. They chose pixel art because it's cleaner and resembles the art from a Link to the Past, since binding of Isaac is a reference to legend of Zelda. Also because most people prefer the pick art over its old look.

I'm helping her make a website to advertise my dad's services.

She wants a page with a bunch of graphics. Ok cool, I'll design them. She says she will find images for me to base my graphics on. She goes to a stock image site and finds about 20 vector graphics she likes (graphic of an old person, graphic of a hospital, graphic of a tooth, some glasses, etc.) and she says I should make graphics like these, but in a unified style instead of a bunch of disparate styles.

And then, instead of just copying the preview images with the watermarks on them, she BUYS them outright, downloads them, sends them to me, and says I should design them to be a unified style. How much money do you think she spent.

$750.

WTF mom. I don't know why but she is so goddamn dumb when it comes to stock images. This is easily the dumbest thing she's ever done. But I can't berate her too much over it because it just makes her feel bad. which is why I came here.

I'm thinking of trying to find out where she got them from, and explaining it to the website, and praying they will show mercy, but in reality I highly doubt they would.
