My first instinct was pushing off the trial in the Senate is a mistake, but thinking it over more, it might actually be a smart move. Republicans were never going to vote to convict in sufficient numbers if it means the effect of removing a sitting President. But if it becomes more symbolic after hes already left office (and to prevent the GOP from getting stuck with Trump again in 2024), that might be a different story to get enough votes, especially if public opinion has soured even more on Trump (which could certainly happen if theres charges brought against him). |

This feels like a different genre than Ive heard before (I half-expected Wikipedia to claim it as post-hardcore, but no, the artist is Chamber Pop, Art Pop, and Neofolk. Goliath and most of the album its on is actually a very different style than Woodkids debut album, The Golden Age, which I highly recommend if you like a more orchestral sound. Id say Goliath at times borders on industrial, but certainly wouldnt classify it that way exclusively. I actually prefer The Golden Age, but nominated Goliath because it was more recent and I was very into it at the time. |

Im guessing the thought process was to let the weight of the incident at the Capitol speak for itself, and that its enough standing alone. And it should be, but thats giving the Republican senators too much credit to think theyll do the right thing this time. |

Having already alleged that conduct, why not charge a count based on that conduct? It would be easier to prove and harder to defend than incitement of insurrection (which as pleaded requires proof that Trumps statements foreseeably resulted in what happened at the Capitol). |

What Pelosi needs to do is file impeachment charges not only pertaining to the Capitol, but also based on the Georgia phone call to make it tougher for Republican senators to weasel out of this. |
