Oh yeah, I forgot I have a subscription to the Midwest Messenger, an agricultural newspaper, but I get it free because I qualify as a hobby farmer. It's normally $50 a year.

I also have a subscription to Out magazine, even though I can't stand the damn thing, but I'm not paying for it either. I bought a subscription to the Advocate for my SO many many years ago, they got bought by Out, and when they discontinued the Advocate, the applied my remaining subscription to Out, and for some reason it's been renewing every year even though I'm not paying for it. The magazine sucks because it's all about glamour and fame and nothing about news like the Advocate, and half the ads are for AIDS drugs and half are for $200 t-shirts, $1000 sneakers and other stupidly overpriced clothing/jewelry.

And I have a few other magazine subscriptions, like Food & Wine, which I got free for redeeming all the hotel points my SO accumulated while working on a major government project in Alaska.

I'm reminded now that I also have two copies of the DS Lite Browser, which required so much memory that you have to insert a special 8MB Memory Expansion Pak into the GBA slot in addition to the regular DS cartridge. It's incompatible with the DSi and 3DS because of this, and no other licensed software could make use of the expansion pack. It's also the Lite version, which has a shorter expansion pak that won't fit into an original model DS. The browser was based on Opera 8.5

I also have My DoItAll for the DS. It was basically an attempt to turn the DS into a PDA for students, with an address book, calendar, notepad, calculator, world map, periodic table, and a bunch of small toys and games. I wrote the only review for it on GFaqs.

And I have the Rumble Pak for the DS Lite. This fit into the GBA slot, so it's totally incompatible with the DSi and 3DS. It's the Lite version, which is shorter than a standard GBA cartridge, so it won't work in an original model DS either. It was never terribly popular because it only worked with about 33 games, and a lot of these were Japanese issue only.

Probably the DS version of Electroplankton on cartridge. It's not really a game, but more of a musical toy. The Hanenbow stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Ultimate was based on one of the "instruments" in Electroplankton (the second one in the video below).

Diagnosed an alternator this afternoon. The problem appears to be with the wiring harness from the alternator to the PCM. That's probably even harder to fix that just replacing the alternator.

Luckily I tend to monitor my credit cards pretty closely, I caught it within a few days of being used so they only managed to get a couple hundred bucks. The card had a $5,000 limit.

I mix together several different sweeteners (aspartame/acesulfame, sucralose, stevia/monkfruit/erythritol, and sugar, this combination does not have any negative aftertaste and only 1/4 the calories), Benefiber (a soluble fiber supplement, also helps the remaining ingredients dissolve better), matcha (green tea powder), and unsweetened cocoa powder (baking cocoa).

Add just enough hot water to dissolve everything, then add ice cubes to cool it down again. Then fill the glass the rest of the way with milk.

Cocoa is loaded with flavonoids, matcha has loads of EGCG, polyphenols and caffeine, and the Benefiber adds about 10% of your daily requirement of soluble fiber per teaspoon.

Barely anyone in a developed country is getting enough Vitamin D through the sun regardless of the pandemic. The good news is that Vitamin D supplements are very cheap and very effective!
Some studies suggest that vitamin D supplements are less effective than vitamin D produced by sun exposure.

https://www.clinicalnutritionexperimental.com/article/S2352-9393(16)30037-9/fulltext
tl;dr: Sunlight-exposure has a more positive effect on bone structure and homeostasis than vitamin D supplementation.

Sun exposure has also been shown to lower blood pressure, increase serotonin levels (which fights depression), and can improve skin conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. Sunlight also affects the pineal gland which produces melatonin to help you sleep.
