Topic"Study" shows romantic relationships don't bring happiness

Kind of a stupid conclusion because the ones who got married obviously derive happiness from marriage while those who didn't obviously don't put as much weight on it. The conclusion is you shouldn't feel pressured to get married out of some weird societal pressure, and you shouldn't deny getting married if you truly desire it.

I'm confused. Is this supposed to ban a cop from ever using a chokehold, or just ban them from using prolonged chokeholds once they can otherwise safety restrain the perpetrator? The former seems really dumb, but the latter makes perfect sense.

You should. Most cards give some benefit, even if it's only a few dollars here and there. They're also generally safer than debit cards, more protection from theft. So long as you're good enough with money to never let a balance ride more than a month outside of a 0% interest period, you're doing yourself a disservice. The only people who shouldn't get them are the compulsive spenders who don't realize that it's not free money.

The question would be why you never got any credit cards. So long as you avoid the ones with scammy fees, there's literally no reason not to use them outside of knowingly avoiding them because you're horrible with money.

The 100 hour grind to breed a perfect team stuff seems like nonsense (I would definitely just insert if I cared about competitive), but most of the other nitpicks are silly. It just means you dislike the games. Streamlining too much leads to the casual EXP share for all nonsense that makes the recent games look like way too much of a cakewalk.
TopicWhere did the "Angels see humans as monkeys" trope come from?

Just the idea that they are independent higher beings with human-like emotions, so they look down on lesser beings. While the literal monkey comparison isnt something I see, arrogant angels that look down on humanity or scorn then for being the Gods chosen seems to be a common trope.

I don't get why we're so stuck on $15 in the first place. I feel like the conversation would be a lot better if there was at least some middle ground discussion. It also seems like people are working on a faulty premise because barely anyone is working full time on the extreme low end minimum wage in the first place, and there are plenty of states with more reasonable minimum wages.

In legal terms, anyone, though obvious social repercussions should be applied depending on context. In a general sense, if the point is or ever was to "reclaim" the word to turn it into something less offensive, then it needs to be acceptable for anyone to say so long as it's not used in the context of a racial slur. The current climate behind the word is kind of silly, like the discussion on whether people should sing it or just mumble over it if singing along with a rap song. This whole "stop the world the second it is said in any context by a non-black person" thing we have going on is just weird. It should end up being treated as with any other swear rather than this nuke of a word.

Though the broad statement is a bit hyperbolic, it's likely true to a certain extent. Something absolutely superb or filled with hype will generally sell well no matter what, but you can probably see certain percentage drops if you look at it from a broad perspective. There are probably some games that would have done better with X-demographic by XX% if the lead was X, Y, or Z. These are companies that likely have focus groups for just judging the marketing appeal of only box art, so they're dealing with way more internal data.

so is the same argument to be made for the assertion that only whites are taught to value rational thinking? i don't really know, i guess, but if i wasn't white and someone was trying to tell me that my entire race is supposed to not value rational thinking, i would be pretty offended. i don't believe white culture has a monopoly on rational, objective or linear thought and i think it's pretty damn offensive to defend such an assertion.
Seems more it would be a country by country value over race, assuming this is something that happens with such variance that it even warrants analysis or discussion. There could certainly be countries where the idea of a "meeting" itself vastly differs from the West or Asia. Trying to tie it to racial lines just seems like racebaiting though.

I'd say definitely not gay unless the guy enjoys it. Money can make you do plenty of things you'd normally never do. In terms of what makes someone a man, that's too vague to even answer. Despite not really meaning to, I guess I do look down on sex workers somewhat as being a "gross" profession. There certainly is some amount of money that would make me do the same thing, but it's so high that it's completely unrealistic that anyone would ever fathom paying it.
