Not future purpose. But if you evaluate them, you might get some self exploration out of it. Some shit being obvious and other stuff being super vague and complex

A fascinating byproduct, none the less. I had a dream the other day that I was back in grade school, but my school was also a store. Thing is, it wasn't a store run by the school or a store in a school, it was this weird store/school hybrid that makes no logical sense, and could only exist in a dream. I thought that was pretty interesting when I was reflecting on it.

You ever have dreams where you're at your house, but it's a super distorted version? Those are always interesting to think about when waking up.

Kinda. I have dreams about finding secret passages in my house that lead to labyrinths to explore. There can be rooms that are bizarro versions of the ones in my house.

Real talk I had a dream last night where I was living in my old house and there were porn magazines on the floor leading to my parents bedroom and my dad was passed out naked in their bed. What does this mean?

dreams do have purpose.

there were times i dreamt the day and realizing i did dream of it before. just a feeling of catching myself dreaming of it and laughing at realizing it all later.

i dont dream much these days though. i get less than 4 hours of sleep no matter. in times i sleep less than 3 hours i nap during the day for about 4 hours then wake up and tryna sleep on a decent schedule

The purpose belongs to your mind continuing to work while you sleep. It's sorting out different aspects of your life that you're either consciously or subconsciously still dealing with. Try to apply the images and people in your dreams to things you've cared about in your daily life, and then consider why your brain is still concerned with them.

The CIA just confirmed Astral projection, transcendental meditation and other crazy stuff. So according to science, you should be able to leave your body in spirit form and travel the world in your dreams. Also, there is lucid dreaming where you can manipulate your dreams.

As far as regular traditional dreams go I believe those can be prophetic. They can help you figure out things you need help with.

1) You dream every night, you just don't necessarily remember them.

2) Dreams are your unconscious brain sorting through events of the day, and working on them more, or discarding them.

If you don't have any pressures then the dreams will be a bit random.

Training a skill or pondering a problem, then getting dreaming rest, you will wake up naturally better at that skill. Your brain has integrated it more into your natural reflexes or working on an issue. ("I'll sleep on it")

That's basically it.

I dunno, but I do know I regularly visit this same "dream city" all the time. I can't remember the details, but I don't think I recognize it from real life. Usually the dreams are completely mundane, but sometimes I have an apocalyptic or other kind of nightmare in that setting. I get a wet dream like once or twice a year in it as well. The city is usually populated by those dream people with faces you can never recall, but sometimes real people I know show up. All I can ever remember from the dreams is the basic premise and how it made me feel.

As a very common, vivid and lucid dreamer... No.

There is no real purpose or point to them. They do not have secret meanings or messages.

They are often influenced by your day or recent events. If I play too much of one game, I start to dream about being in similar style of games, as an example.

What I find cool is that everything seems to dream, like all animals.

I'm more confused why we sleep, yes because we get tired - but why? We still don't really know. I assume it's a way to conserve energy when you can't function at your best. Imagine primitive fireless humans at night. It'd be too dark to do anything and you'd just waste energy
i have read a little on why we sleep. There's like a chemical in your brain and the amount goes down during your waking times.

I dreamed that I was slowly morphing into an octopus legged man with woman boobs, and was somehow able to disguise myself from everyone until my shirt ripped off, where my boobs somehow alerted everyone to my octopus legs, and in an effort to escape from embarassment I ran to a nearby volcano and low crawled underneath a field of levitating lava.

I think my dream was telling me to assassinate LeBron James.
