X-2 might have fared better as a gaiden game rather than being billed as the proper sequel. I think a lot of people took issue with its silly tone and blatant fanservice in comparison to the more somber tone of X, and that's valid - but X-2 is a fun game with a lot of depth and content.

I've been trying to 100% it for the last year and a bit, on and off. I'm at 99%, and I think I have to beat Via Infinito to get there. I'm at Cloister 80, my whole team is at lvl 99, and I'm getting my ass handed to me.

Dexter is a bully hunter who uses his intellect to track down and dish out punishment to jocks who torment his high school. Dexter's dad spends a lot of time away from home on business, and it's revealed that he's had a lovechild on at least three of his business trips. These children show up over the show's 7 seasons as primary antagonists for Dexter to face. One of them endowed a cow and a chicken with human-level intelligence, and they become core members of the cast from season 4 onwards.

Fun fact: people thought that this was a Hungarian chess master with a perchant for dining and dashing. That guy's been dead since the early 2000's, so it was understood that this was an outburst of an eccentric, mentally ill man a few short years before his untimely death.

It turns out they were working on a Destroy All Humans reboot, but they lost the license to the company that made the remake - so instead of getting rid of all their hard work, they decided to put it at the end of Red Dead Redemption 2.

I guess they were going for an "Undead Nightmare" sort of vibe, but a lot of people decried it for being directly integrated into the story compared to Undead Nightmare being more of a spinoff universe.

Humanz was a tough listen, but the Now Now had pretty decent songs like Humility. Even then, I wasn't too fussed on it.

But their Song Machine videos are like consistently good. It sounds like Gorillaz again. I really fucking vibe with Dsol, Aries is a very fuzzy synthy song, and PAC-MAN is an alright listen too. Song Machine is probably the best Gorillaz album since Plastic Beach imo, and I say that as someone who actually really liked The Fall.

Full of highs and lows. I used to think I'd hit my stride in my 30's, but with everything the way it is, I'm starting to think that everything is going to suck forever.

I'm discovering that I should be kept away from all alcohol if I want to live a sober life, because I will drink any alcohol I have unrestricted access to regardless of if it's appropriate for me to drink it or not. But I'm surrounded by people who drink. One of them drinks daily, and another binge-drinks on their day off until they're basically sick.

I would never kill myself because it's too painful, and as much as living brings me emotional pain, I enjoy and savor the experience of being alive. But there are times where I hope and pray that something goes horribly wrong in my life and kills me instantly so I can stop living. And the points at which I savor life the most always give way to depressions so low that make me wish I had never been born.

Maybe I drink so much to induce blackouts, because that's the closest I can get to death without having to deal with the consequence of non-existence afterwards.

So yeah, basically life is fucked at the moment.

Sherlock Holmes is public domain, and people have been writing reimagined/expanded stories based on the character for decades at this point. I'm critical of DC's live-action cinematic universe, but I do want the movie to be good at the end of the day and I hope this is better than the movie we got originally.

Honestly, I think DC are on the right track with this new Batman movie coming off the heels of Joker. I think they finally found a way to grit up their cinematic universe without it being tacky and tryhard. I don't know how Zack Snyder fits into that since he's the one that got everything off on the wrong foot.

I'm hoping for the best, but I'm expecting the worst.

God, scoring it with Hallelujah is such a fucking ego move. Like "rejoice, for the Lord of DC live-action movies is back!" There's also the fact that his name is bigger than the name of the movie on that thumbnail, which is just hilarious.

I watched half of the trailer, and it was honestly pretty good. It looks like the added scenes are going to be pretty good - I especially liked the Wonder Woman scene with the little girl and the Flash scene where he saves a woman from getting hit by a car. The Aquaman CG is pretty spotty though.

The thing is, I've already seen Justice League, and at its core it's going to be the same movie - and I don't know if Zack Snyder can polish this turd well enough to make it good. Most of its moving parts are probably going to be the same, albeit with a new scene here and there and a brand new light filter to desaturate everything. The Whedon reshoots and the shift in tone and focus is one thing, but a lot of what went into that original release was shot by Zack Snyder - this idea that Joss Whedon alone ruined the movie is so dumb when the supposed saviour is the man who directed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and whose movie was basically the same script sans a few scenes and a few unnecessary yuks.

Partnering with HBO Max is a solid idea, because re-releasing this movie in theatres would be stupid as fuck. I like that they're making this a home release.

For what it's worth, I hope it's good. The original Justice League was way too early, and releasing it around this point after the characters got a movie or 2 to flesh them out would have been a good move. The fact that they have to re-release Justice League with a particular talent to drum up hype is just kind of silly, and I don't think pinning Zack Snyder's name over it like a badge of honour is going to magically make it good. But I hope it's a coherent, watchable movie, unlike that fucking borefest that Zack Snyder released called Batman v Superman, and I hope it's as on-brand and true to the characters as it can be, unlike that superhero 9/11 simulator that Zack Snyder directed, Man of Steel.

The first movie is a good counterpoint to the Fast and Furious or Mission Impossible movies, where even if the whole "secret world of assassins" plotline is very fanciful and a little silly, the action is very heavy and, in a way, intimate. It doesn't feel like plasticine figures throwing hands on top of a dollhouse.

The second movie has an excuse plot imo, and I don't like it as much. It was a necessary stepping stone to turning John Wick into a franchise, but I didn't like the villain and John spends almost the entire movie putting dudes in armlocks and flipping them over like it's his signature move. It's really not a bad movie, I just don't like it as much as 1 or 3.

The third movie kicks ass, that's all I'll say about it. I love John Wick 3.
