I liked it better than every single Zack Snyder DC movie, and I think it's a refreshing turn for the DC movie franchise. But I also think it's full of fluff and padding, and it goes for longer than I would have liked.

Like cool, Arthur crawling into a fridge and closing the door was an achievement in weirdness. On its own, it's a fine scene. But there's like two dozen other scenes in this movie of him being weird for the sake of being weird. It's just another random scene in a movie that's significantly made up of random scenes.

I also thought that the subplot with his girlfriend was lame. The whole thing should have been nixed for time, it's one more gratuitous source of misery in a movie that spends half of its runtime being weird and miserable for the sake of being weird and miserable.

So yeah - movie was a bit bloated, it runs a bit longer than I would have liked, the last act is good but the movie is honestly running out of steam by that point. I still liked the principle of it, and the good parts of this movie are really, honestly good. I hope it shapes a trend at DC, where they bring in directors with strong artistic visions and a desire to innovate instead of relying on $350 million CG monstrosities that end up looking like shit and moving at the speed of molasses.

But even then, Joker overstays its welcome a bit. It's not as bad as the haters say, but I don't think it's the masterstroke its most ardent supporters think it is either. It's still very good though, and like I said, I really hope this movie sets a precedent at DC.

Parasite was still a better movie too, it deserved the Oscar over Joker and you're tripping if you can't see otherwise lmao

This game is probably the most grueling RPG I've ever played too. JRPGs aren't exactly a walk in the park at the best of times, but this game is hard to the point of being actively hostile at points.

I'm at level 63, and there are still fights where I'm getting ambushed and clobbered - and enemies are spamming instakill spells, which miss like 95% of the time, but it only takes one spell hitting the MC to potentially lose an hour of gameplay.

Matador is truly a wake-up call boss for the history books. The game is fun, I really like merging new demons, but it's definitely made for enthusiasts.

I played Persona 3 back in the day. I beat the final boss, but I dunno if I played through to the ending because I don't remember the MC dying in Aigis' arms in the roof of his school, if that's even what happens. I read the character profiles on TV Tropes years later.

I just remember kicking Nyx's ass, and playing through the scenario where your memory gets erased two weeks before the world ends.

Gotta say, I really hate this trend of pre-order demos. The whole point of a demo is to give people a taste of the game before they buy it to see if they want to play the full game. I never would have bought Killzone or Ratchet and Clank 3 back in the day if I didn't enjoy their demos so much.

It's a Crash game with some QoL features and a few new bells and whistles to see what sticks.

I think this is shaping up to be the best new Crash game in 15 years, at least. I liked characters like Nina Cortex and Crunch, and I like Twinsanity and Tag Team Racing. Hell, I liked Crash Bash. But even with some of the new gameplay sections and stuff that look a bit out of place, this is probably the best return to form in Crash's tumultuous history.

Activision can still fuck this up, because it's Activision. I can't wait for the premium currency that lets you skip levels, or for the final three worlds of the game (out of six) to be individual paid DLC packs. But let's be real here - aside from a few quirky QoL features, this game really doesn't look that bad.

The research group are being transparent with the information. We know how they defined "violent protests", we know how many protests they took into account, and we know the amount of time between the first and last recorded protests in their study. I've got a couple of videos that show how the Australian Deal or No Deal went. We didn't have the banker as a physical character, and there wasn't a phone call. It was the host, the contestant, and 25 people holding the suitcases who got to say a little blurb.

Each offer would be signalled by a siren, and it would show up on a big screen. It was a half-hour show, including commercials, and it led into the 6 o'clock news.

Now I'm thinking about it - if the person holding a briefcase could guess the amount inside of it, they would get $1000.

Of course they reach more "normie" users on other platforms - they have YouTube channels, they post on Facebook and Twitter, and they have people shilling their ideas and content all over social media. Plenty of people are exposed to these content creators. But like I said before - I don't think it's an unreasonable thought that there are people on this board - or on this website as a whole - who aren't typically exposed to far-right content creators in their typical online activities.

It was big in Australia too. It got replaced by the Australian version of a quiz show called The Chase, and they brought back the host of Deal or No Deal to host it.

fwiw, there was a degree of strategy. As the contestant whittles down the cases, the amount they can settle for changes depending on what's left on the board. If they knock out all the highest prizes, the offer they can take is nuked from orbit. If they take out the lowest offers and leave the highest offers, they get a solid deal to choose from. It's based on luck, but it's entertaining to see someone cash out just before they would have been ruined, or cash out when things look bad only for their case to have 10x the amount they settled for.

Are we really gonna snob around and go "it wasn't even a game"? It was schmaltz that they put on to fill a time slot, but it was entertaining.
