Slime climb is so dumb. Was the first match of the game and I swear I spent the entire thing prone. Haven't once made it through the part where it's moving blocks with gaps between.

I think there generally needs to be some more limitation on when some levels show up. Slime Climb is great for like twenty people, but too difficult for a full sixty to try all at once.

I assume the price is based on the idea that a lot of people watching it will be families. So for one dude its a bad deal, but for four people its a bunch cheaper than movie tickets would be. (its theoretically also a worse viewing experience than the theater would be though)

that said, I find it hard to get over how awful a deal renting a movie for $30 sounds even if it makes some logical sense. It would have to be something I really care about before Id do that instead of waiting. I might be willing to pay $30 for Fast and Furious 9.

theyre remaking THPS 1 & 2 and people are very excited for it. I think the people who cared about the game then generally still care about it now, its very memorable and nostalgic.

it wasnt all bad, there were definitely some cool Wii games, but I think it mostly resulted in shallow games that were only entertaining for a short time.

I spent more time with my friends yelling at my Kinect to get it to play the Sanford and Son theme song than I did actually playing Kinect games and I dont remember what games the PS Move even had aside from Deadmuns Quest (?) which had the guy at E3 who said great job Jeremy.

micro transactions are probably worse, but I dont think theyre a fad so much as theyre the grim reality we now live in.

I dont think this a great answer for the question because its not even that Game Party is forgettable, its that we were never even aware of it in the first place.
Its less like Avatar and more like Sing, an animated movie about singing animals that came out four years ago and made over 600 million dollars. Game Party was just some ephemeral product targeted at kids.

I think the game equivalent of Avatar needs to have had some hype at some point and been a big deal at the time of its release, but now have very few people who are actually passionate about it.

killzone theoretically sold well, they made a bunch of games, but have you ever actually seen a Killzone fan? If there isnt a new Killzone game on the PS5 will anyone care?

also a more direct analogue to Avatar might be Crysis? It was kind of a big deal but mostly just notable for technical reasons rather than the actual quality of the game.

it makes sense with how much theyve integrated Xbox stuff into their PC side. Its kind of silly that if I get game pass on Xbox I have to pay to play Halo online but if I get it on PC I can play it online for free. It actively disincentivizes people buying their console.

I've always wondered why so many used GCN/PS2 games come with their case but no manual. Do people just lose them or what?

I think I lost a bunch of them. Like id take it out to read it then put it down somewhere and not return it the case then maybe my mom would put in a drawer or something.

At some point I think a lot of that stuff just got thrown away. I have a drawer with a bunch of GBA manuals but dont have any of the boxes for those anymore so its the reverse issue.
