my system so far has been

1 heat - extreme measures
2 heat - middle management
3 heat - 2 extreme measures
4 heat - 2 extreme measures + whatever the one that lets enemies absorb your first attack

and then the appropriate combinations of those for 5 and 6

the damage shield thing is barely noticeable

9 minute timer is also barely a restriction

its not that he cant pull it off, its just that its creating a wrong expectation if hes not playing the same Electro. Spider-Verse is trending on Twitter now because a ton of people are taking the news as evidence of a multiverse situation.

its not a super big deal, but I feel like having Jamie Foxx as Electro again isnt worth any amount of confusion. Theres nothing special about that actor/character pairing.

I think they're setting up the Sinister Six, so I can understand them using Electro again. Electro is usually extremely fun with a group, when played right, because he's such a ballistic powderkeg.

I think the key is not using him like they did in ASM2 and just making him look and act differently. Just put a shade of yellow instead of blue on him. Don't let him be a meek loser turned foreboding "Duh duh I've got you Spider-Man." Just make him be arrogant yet fucking pissed all the time.

but if youre going to do a totally different interpretation of the character, bringing back the same actor seems like a bad choice

I have neutral expectations

There are very few even slightly reasonable characters left that could get me crazy hyped, but its also pretty unlikely that the character will be something I straight up dislike.

Ill probably only be disappointed if its a particularly bad Pokemon choice, or a Xenoblade character, or we finally really get Steve.

Which doesnt rule out a lot, but it does make someone like Impa unlikely.

obviously they can just add some more old Zelda music, but you do have a point here... if they add a BotW Zelda character theres no stage or music that would come along with it that couldnt have just as easily been in the base game.

I had been thinking BotW Zelda was a likely candidate, but now im thinking she would have been in the game from the start if they wanted to include her (or anyone else from Zelda).

So I purchased the ability to enter the administration office (so far not sure it's worth 3 diamonds compared to the other options available) and on the records I see a spot for companions. So far I haven't seen anything about this! Also I see a new prophecy for pact benefits but I also don't see where those are available from the pact menu. yeah I noticed the companions on my record pretty far into my fifty runs and hadnt discovered them yet.

I have now. I wont spoil how they come about, but youre right about them being the last codex section.

Also the pact benefits thing is in reference to the buffs that armored enemies get when you turn on that part of the pact. You should have access to it now if you have the pact in the first place.

also also eventually your access to the administrative room will pay off for some diamonds from a prophecy, but youre probably a long time from the situation where that will happen still.

spear has such a bad ratio because I tried using the weird secret version a few times and its hard
sword has a bad ratio because its the first one obvi and also I was kinda bad at it at first

I almost always choose the weapon with the aura, which almost never shows up on the gun for some reason. If im ranking my preference so far I think its bow > fists > gun > shield > spear > sword but theres obviously variations in play and I havent tried all of them (or even unlocked the last two of them) yet.

Most used boons:

Clearly I should stop choosing Curse of Pain. Static Discharge is the one that adds Jolt to electric stuff. It seems super necessary to me if youre gonna have any electric attacks.

Least used:
theres still one Dionysus boon Ive never picked. Its called High Tolerance and it makes you take reduced damage in Festive Fog. Ive only even taken Festive Fog three times so yeah.
Otherwise Ive used every regular boon at least once.

Aspects:
7/12 bow runs have been Aspect of Chiron (Makes your special have fewer arrows but home in on last enemy you attacked). It seems really good.

Keepsakes:
Ive used the coin purse 33 times. I equip it for the first floor of any serious attempt. Its been in 17 of my 19 clears.
After that, sometimes I use the god-specific keepsakes to find specific boons on the second/third floors
otherwise I use the super secret Pom blossom or the skull earring (damage up when low on health). Used the Spearpoint that makes you temporarily invincible after getting hit on a couple specific builds too and it worked out.

and then theres a bunch I equipped like once to complete the quest and never again

also still getting lots of new dialogue even fifty runs in

I love this game. I will probably do another fifty runs.

actually the way the mice are on the outside of the maze make it appear to be vertical, so cats B and C are currently falling and A will beat them to the bowl because it didnt die in a fall

I agree that its not that bad. Its still a Mario game, its a perfectly fine experience. The Mario series is good enough that perfectly fine is the worst any of them get. Theres no bad Mario platformer.

The only one I've played is the first one on DS, which is one of best Mario games; it's basically Super Mario World, but with slightly better level design.

Ive always found the DS game to be fine, but it feels kind of... boring? Theres just some spark missing for me in that one.

but I think the Wii and Wii U games are about as good as you think the DS game is so you should definitely check them out if you can

I have a combination right now that felt legitimately busted

I have (epic level 2) Aphrodites call which charms an enemy for 7 seconds

I also have Zeus and Aphrodites duo boon which automatically charges the god gauge 1% every .2 seconds but caps it at 25%. Thats 5 seconds to a full charge.

I just fought the Minotaur and basically was able to keep him from doing anything because I was able to keep him constantly charmed.

I started playing last night and have spent like 1/3 of the last 24 hours playing

just got my first clear. I would have had it like two hours earlier but I pressed RT like a millisecond too late in the last fight and got killed before I could call Athena. It sucked so hard. also lost progress the first time I got passed Elysium because I accidentally unplugged my external hard drive right after I died

anyway, I was super surprised how well the run I escaped on went because I was using the Aegis which I didnt really think was my jam. I ended up with a Zeus/Poseidon/Aphrodite set up where I had my shield throw causing lightning bolts and the duo boom which made my Poseidon dash and cast cause lightning too and I had the jolt boon, then I had (I think) an epic rank Aphrodite boon on my attack and had extra damage vs. weakened enemies. Also I ended up with an absurd amount of HP at the end.

I was just constantly dashing and throwing my shield causing non-stop lightning. I didnt even have to use death defiance in the final fight. It felt so good.

this game fucking rules, maybe my game of the year at this point. Its like they combined Bastion and Pyre + roguelike and I love all three of those things. Supergiant doesnt miss.

also also its incredible how much unique dialogue there is.
