I hope for the best man, maybe it will help out and you can get things straightened out. I think we all hit a wall at some point and find different ways to cope, or at least try to fix it in the short term. I'm always around even if you just wanna vent.

The physical symptoms I get:

- shortness of breath/shallow breathing
- knot in stomach
- sweating (underarms and hands)

And it's just a constant state of dread, always being "on", irritable, etc.

I got prescribed diazepam today to tackle my anxiety (and likely depression, the doctor said). Also got a referral to a psychologist.

It basically is. Most job applications are a waste of time, if you don't know anyone behind the hiring process. You've literally got a better chance at the lottery, simply because someone HAS to win eventually; no one ever has to get hired.

She's been through hell the last 3 years or so. Multiple surgeries, body parts taken out..

But the vet said as long as she still likes to eat and still likes to be petted and loved on and be with me that I should keep her around. And she fits all that criteria. She's my best companion

All her innards like heart lungs etc are really healthy. They astound my vet to the point that he's given me free check ups

That's awesome. As long as she's happy and not in pain, thats the main thing.

Fuck yes, please. I wouldnt have to manage anyone (this is what is causing my anxiety to spike at work), I fucking hate managing people. I'm good at it, like really good at it, but I just fucking hate doing it. Fingers crossed this works out.

If my family member/friend was in hospice/stage 4 cancer/etc and somebody said "get well soon" about them I'd think they were a fucking asshole, even if they meant it in a nice way. Shit thing to say.

"Damn that sucks", "so sorry to hear", "let me know if I can do anything to help", that's what I'd want to hear.

The internet. I read that due to low voltage in American homes (110V on average) they're not popular and the kettles you put on the stovetop are more widely used. Australia has 220-240V to homes so everyone has an electric kettle

Made a topic on this, but did how Brisbane handled our COVID scare recently make news?

Basically, on January 5th, a cleaner at a hotel where returned travellers have to quarantine for 14 days, caught the UK strain of COVID-19 (the 70% more contagious one). The Premier put a 3 day lockdown into effect (closed all businesses except essential), and got her into isolation, and interviewed her to get all of the locations she had been and close contacts in order to test them. None of the close contacts tested positive, aside from her husband (who also was in isolation with her). Then for the next 2 weeks, masks were mandatory across the entire city, as well as 1 person per 4m2 (43 square feet) in businesses. No new cases have been detected during that time.

All that over a single case. We are now back to 0 active cases in the community. That case a few weeks ago was our first case of community transmission since September last year.

I saw complete compliance - did not see a single person without a mask during that time. Now we don't have to wear masks again, back to 1 person per 2m2, and can go to restaurants, bars, nightclubs etc.
