I don't wanna talk about AAL forever but I'd say they would have been at $25 without the coronavirus. It seems impossible they went into the red before all of this doesn't it? But there's gonna be a hype train when all the airlines surge back up and I think it'll deflate a bit because they almost all took big hits to stay afloat.

I think my larger point is that buying now through phase 3 trials is easy money. unless the vaccine trials go poorly and then lol.

I feel like AAL is somewhat overvalued - they were in rough shape before this all happened. But I think they are a good investment right now because you will have an opportunity to sell in the 20s. My airline stocks are LUV and SAVE right now. A lot less room to grow with LUV but it's a good company and if phase 3 trials aren't strong, I feel like they'd actually survive the next year.

so my hot predix is tat AAL will give you a juicy return but you'll have to act quickly. a lot of the upside is going to be realized early instead of long term.

NCLH earnings tomorrow morning I think.

I think Visa is a good stock to own on any dips or bad news days. Maybe there isn't a TON of upside but I feel like that's an easy 10-20% in the next year with like no downside unless vaccines don't work at all.

I thought Disney+ was priced to essentially advertise the rest of the Disney brand (ie somewhat of a loss leader), and was thinking the price would be attractive after brutal revenue numbers. But no, the stock is way up. I wasn't going to go hard into Disney but jeeze.

From the perspective of a parent of 3 kids... if we go to the movies, it's like 8 bucks (or more) per ticket. We sneak in snacks and drinks but we love good movie theater popcorn, which isn't cheap. I love the movies so I don't mind the cost. I think we estimate $60 to see a movie.

Trolls World Tour came out for rental right away, $20. We had a movie night, and then the kids watched it a bunch of times, got into the songs, etc. It was a great value. Of course, we could have rented a different kids movie that they hadn't seen for way cheaper. But there's an obvious and necessary premium for new movies.

Selling AMZN today, pocket a few hundred dollars, move on. If Prime Day was still Q3, I'd probably hang around until 3600. And I wouldn't be stunned if this thing got to 4000 by the end of the year.

Probably selling Li Auto today as well. I have no idea about them aside from Robinhood investors love an IPO so why not.

I've been trickling in small amounts into NKLA when they dip below 30ish. I may stop doing this until December as they intend to sell 250 million more stocks or whatever. My goal is to have $3k NKLA stock average price in the 20s by year end.

I've also picked up $1K of various pharma stocks... LLY, ABBV (Again), and the covid vaccine companies. MRNA is the only real risk - if their vaccine fails, that stock isn't worth much at all. PFE and AZN will take hits, but eh.

I'm also staying with DKNG for the long haul. I wouldn't stress about them and to a lesser extent GAN. This time next year sports will be back 80% to what they used to be if I had to guess.

this is probably an OK time to start getting into travel stocks. If there's a good vaccine phase 3 trial, then those stocks will spike. They will likely spike too high and that will be a great time to sell - AAL doubling it's current price would be insane but I do see such things happening. Buying AAL now with another month+ of bad news might feel bad. I would probably want to get in before any good vaccine news, for sure.

I don't want to pretend a second wave/surge can't happen. Maybe it won't, that's great. I don't want the schools to plan for things to be perfectly fine with no contingency plans. I also want something that the teachers buy into. I'm not opposed to my kids going to school but I don't want us to pretend like we know exactly what's going to happen.

My worry about schools is that when the second wave hits, there will be no backup plan and we'll be back to the disaster of home schooling like we suffered in the spring. Because this is being politicized, it's now an either/or situation.

the contract is fine, tbh. If he hits numbers close to what hes hit in the past in just a few years of the contract, those years become a bargain. So you overpay later for the bargain somewhere else.

Ultimately here, the contract will be judged on if it nets more than 0 World Series victories.

Mookie is great in pretty much every aspect. He's a super nice guy, thoughtful, plays well with others, and he's about as good on the field as it gets. If you're gonna give someone a big contract, Mookie is definitely the guy.

And yeah, 1 WS win (especially with the current team) and it's worth it, in most markets.
